hey hitsugayat10, cute bun u have! den i have bought the smaller cage den. small amount of grape-like poop (its called cecotropes) is ok becoz usually because they will eat it again. anyway further reading is here http://bunniez.hubpages.com/hub/What-To-Do...lly-Rabbit-Poop
anyway, based on my experience and readings, u need to supply unlimited hay + pellets when they are young (before six months). afterward, u need to limit the pellets and let ur bun have unlimited excess to fresh hay. u cant limit hay at all. and try feeding him timothy oso... i find bun easily developed dependence on alfalfa which is not gud. after 6 months u should only feed timothy and alfalfa as treat. hope this helps! to reply holypredator, it simply means he dun like wateva u did. or he treats u like intruder... |

Thanks a lot
Cant limit the pellets yet as not sure how much hay is the bun gonna waste, so put in more pellets than needed so that bun dun go hungry Added on April 6, 2012, 4:26 pmWent to a vet today as bunny's poops consist of jelly like materials but not diarrhea Vet gav antibiotics and asked us to feed it with english parsley and a bit of pineapple juice. Problem: Bunny cant drink from bottle and so i use a bowl to fill water for it to drink. Prob's bunny likes to get inside the "pool" and is always wet It's a weird behaviour! Plz advise. If you are feeding Alfalfa based pellet or rabbit food, you should start feeding Timothy Hay. Some young rabbits cannot tolerate the high protein in alfalfa.

My lil BunBun has passed away at about 1115pm last night
Sent for cremation early this morning D vet said on Friday morning, bunny might be stressed coz of being away from herd n being in new environment which caused stomach upset... Since it's just stomach upset, my fren who's a bunny owner said that my bunny might be a bit sick already when i got it from petshop..Anyway, did the best that i can do to take care of him and may lil BunBun rest in peace... |

Hi all,
Just took my rabbit to the vet and was informed that my rabbit has fur mites and need to get injection in order to get rid of those mites. Was wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? My rabbit is placed in a small room with no interaction with other animals. Would appreciate advice from sifu out there |

QUOTE(misnail @ Apr 9 2012, 09:07 PM) Hi all, Both my rabbits also haven gone through the injection. I think mine isnt about the mites, mine is he's having some skin disease on its feet, and we can see pink flesh due to the fur dropping. after injection (RM50/jab) if not mistaken, then both ok le. But quite often now see them scratch scratch.. Just took my rabbit to the vet and was informed that my rabbit has fur mites and need to get injection in order to get rid of those mites. I am sorry to hear about lil BunBun's passing.
I cannot stress enough not to get bunnies from PetShops. Here are some reasons why I will not get bunnies from pet shops: 1. Baby bunnies are "harvested" too early from the farms. Baby rabbits can only leave their mother after 8 weeks 2. Most petshops have too many animals from different locations and no one knows what diseases some of these animals carry. Your bunny may have contracted some diseases Not to generalize though, there are some pet shop owners who are very careful and ensure their livestock are in good condition. Yeah, agree with u that some of the petshops r not careful when it come to treatment to the pets coz they r just money making product... I'll think of getting another bunny later, and will never get it from a petshop again... |

First let me say this is a super thread on rabbits...happy to be here but I wished I found this earlier.
My rabbit Rio has been sick for over a week now. Started off with discharge from one eye. Took him to the vet and was told he was having a 'cold' and was given eye drops and antibiotics. A week later he still was unwell and the other eye got infected. Went to the vet again and was given a different antibiotic. He seemed to improve and regain his appetite after 2 days, however then started to get sick yesterday. Now he seems to have a blocked nose, doesn't eat his pellets and hay (but ok with fresh vege) and is losing weight. Anyone can suggest a vet who is recommended for rabbits around Shah Alam/Subang area that I can take him to? I am worried and helpless at the same time. Thanks in advance for any help. Hi guys. I just adopted a 2 months old bunny last week from a friend. After a few days at home, we notice one of its nail is black in color and seems to dry up. Then yesterday, the little bunny bit off the black nail by itself.

Instead he will just go explore... |
