My bunny gave birth to 3 babies 5 days ago... but the sad thing is that i couldn't be with them when they were just born... as the next day i have to be out of town for work... then 2nd day.. 1 baby died... 3rd day... 2 babies died... sad.gif

this is the first time she become a mother... but the weird thing is that i dun see bunch of furs surround... i only see very fine furs flying but which looks like molting.. didn't know she was pregnant.. She keep on stepping on the babies... and separate the 1st baby from the other... then the baby die the next day... sad.gif i know it's natural selection that the mum will know which one is weak but izzit possible that the mum didn't feed them? cuz the mum bunny still has lots of furs below till it covers the bottom part... and for your info.. my bunny is mix breed of lop ear and normal rabbit... she got her ears and long fluffy fur from the lop side...

can anyone tell me what should i do now? she seem depress after 3 of the babies died and keep on staying at the corner of the cage... the first baby she able to make grave for it (with the towel and timothy pile up on top of the dead baby).. but the 2nd one we just remove it and the third one we put the body for half hour with her... the third one died on my fren hands (a bunny lover as well). it's so frustrating and heart broken... >.<

*for your info, my bunnies are outdoor bunnies, and when i know that my chungchung got babies... i immediately buy her some comfy towels and the woodie shredded and put timothy hay to keep the babies warm... i use a rectangular box which is bigger size of my bunny so that she can go in and feed them*

im sorry to hear that, u made me think twice before breeding them...

i believed they are under 2 months. small bunnies can easily die from stress when they are seperated from the mum.

lol... sorry den. actually i bought the same cage like yours one from the same shop... about RM90 rite lol. i should have knew it earlier thats the hay tray. anyway.... i think u can buy the triangle toilet as bun can be toilet trained! simply put in the litters called "woodie pet" that can absorbs the urine!

hey hitsugayat10, cute bun u have! den i have bought the smaller cage den. small amount of grape-like poop (its called cecotropes) is ok becoz usually because they will eat it again. anyway further reading is here http://bunniez.hubpages.com/hub/What-To-Do...lly-Rabbit-Poop

anyway, based on my experience and readings, u need to supply unlimited hay + pellets when they are young (before six months). afterward, u need to limit the pellets and let ur bun have unlimited excess to fresh hay. u cant limit hay at all. and try feeding him timothy oso... i find bun easily developed dependence on alfalfa which is not gud. after 6 months u should only feed timothy and alfalfa as treat.

hope this helps!

to reply holypredator, it simply means he dun like wateva u did. or he treats u like intruder...
