hey guys. i need an opinion..among all the big 4's i'm most interested in this one, but my internship app got rejected.

I'm guessing for two reasons: my gpa is not 3.0 and above, or because i stupidly selected finance dept (though in interests i put finance audit tax).

Should i reapply online for audit? Or try some other firm?

actually it's nearly 0% chances you will enter Big 4 with lower than 3.0 CGPA.
go try medium firm or get professional paper la

Nothing wrong with having GPA 3.0 and below, I doubt my GPA even reach 2.5 (my university uses averages rather than GPA). Just keep on trying with the other firms first before giving up. Higher chance of entering audit/tax rather than advisory imo.

I believe the finance officer is doing their accounting stuff at the company unless the finance you are referring to is part of the advisory.

Assuming I am right, it is better to do audit since it provides a better exposure and prospects once you decide to leave.

Hi, I'm planning to apply for advisory job in big 4. Which co is the best in terms of exposure and opportunity?

I have 2+ years of working experience - 1 year in a small commercial firm and 1+ year in shared service center. Do I go into big 4 as a fresh grad or experienced worker?

And may I know how much is the pay now?

Does anyone know if Ernst & Young have any other KL branches besides the one at Menara Milenium? I know that one is the main branch. But is there any others around KL?

I heard that there is one in Kompleks Antarabangsa at Jalan Sultan Ismail based on the info found here. But is it really there? How come no one ever talks about it? If it does exist, then any idea if they have an advisory division over at that side too?

Currently EY has only 1 KL office - Menara Milenium (MM) at Pusat Bandar Damansara.
The Kompleks Antarabangsa office had closed and the service lines previously located there had shifted to MM.

Ah ic. Thanks for the info. smile.gif

Btw anyone has any idea if PwC is currently hiring for their Advisory division? I've sent in an application for an associate position about 2 weeks ago but still haven't received any reply. And usually when I send in an application through a company website, i will receive an automated message stating that they have received my application. But PwC doesn't seem to have that. So i'm not even sure if they have received my application. :/ Should I email them and ask about my application status?

PwC Advisory definitely hiring, though I'm not sure whether associate levels are still open.

Shouldn't be a problem in asking about your application status, shows initiative on your part in my opinion.

Goodluck!

hi, can someone answer my question?

working in one of the big 4's branches, is it the same as working in the same firm's HQ?

what are the comparisons in terms of:

1) Prestige (in other words, if i were to look for a job in the future, will the HQ hold more weight than the other branches, or is it the same as long as the firm's name and brand is there)

2) Workload (i know for a fact the branches will have smaller jobs, but will the workload and stress be as taxing? is there a huge difference in exposure and will that impact my resume in the future?)

3) Salary (will the branches pay less than the HQ?)

thanks!
