But i thought tat someone who hold, for example e pass before should be able to hold back the same e pass right?

Also, e pass and s pass is not much diff, but s pass to work permit having some diff such as if u wanna sign a phone contract, u need to deposit a lum sum of money, where as s pass and e pass do not.

should I request them to apply s pass for me? I heard that their s pass applications all got rejected. I'm confused too why they would apply EP for me while all SP already got rejected...
*
there is a reason why ur S pass got rejected. Mostly is because u job hop which causing u hard to get ur working pass approve, u will need to ask the HR to appeal for u rather than down grade.

what are the supporting documents required? i heard need testimonial from previous employers but i dont even want to let my current employer know that i'm gonna quit. and it is quite difficult for me to get my previous employer to write me the testimonial too...

I'm holding S pass and was applying for EPass and rejected. it is not s pass....

My EP got rejected once because i work for 6 months and move to other company, but the HR from my new company actually come to help me appeal for my EP, which took bout 1 months to process (3 weeks fastest). I didn't pass any supporting document to the HR or anything, she just help me settle it. biggrin.gif

The HR who apply the working permit for you will know the reason why your permit get rejected, from there then decide what is your next move. At least get to know the reason why it is rejected first.

my employer said if appeal, will need my certificate and testimonial....but it is really difficult to get testimonial...
*
but wat is the reason it got rejected? Your HR never stated? For me case, the reason is "inconsistency" which mean maybe the info i fill in the form while applying for EP mismatch or something. So, HR appeal to get my EP.

1 question, if we renew our workpass (mine is S pass), do i still get to keep my existing FIN number? coz my FIN number is freaking nice. G6***##*K if u understand what i am writting tongue.gif
*
yes, i can keep that number only for a period of time, after tat the number maybe release to other people. That is why when u apply for ur working permit, there is a section which u should put in ur old FIN number.

Most of the room are fully furnish. It consist of a bed, table, fan and a cupboard.

To avoid agent fee, it is best to search for a room which is not advertise by agent.

With or without agent got it's pros and cons also.

With agent,
-need to pay for agent fee.
-they can guarantee the rental price stays the same for 1 year.
-the house owner and you will be bind to a contract which will protect u from being ask to move out from the room asap.

without agent,
-no need to pay for agent fee.
-the house owner might raise ur rental anytime.
-they can ask u to move out asap.

Thanks Ricky. Then I only need to bring over my cloths, PC, toiletries and most important cash for the first rental payment. smile.gif
Anyway, I prefer to stay with working adults or students, rather than with landlord. Is it easy to find such room in SG? I heard most room for rent need to stay with landlord....

Yeah u can, but kinda hard. U can always try. rclxms.gif

basically what they said is quite true though. It is hard to work part time in Singapore because they need to apply work permit for you thus they need to pay some amount of money to MOM just to hired you.

But if only work as part time, which company willing to do that for you.

Then again, there is always a way to get a part time (if you know the method though).

haihz... they have sometin to hide i think... coz dat day i give them a call regarding my pass application they told me the company have not submitted as they dont have record... so i called to the company and they said already submitted... someting very wrong here... but anyway really thanks so much for your input, crappo... really appreciate it so much...
*
I face this problem before, it can be the detail u fill in differ from the one u fill at the first time. Or it can be because u job hop. Either way, the only thing u can do now is to ask ur HR to appeal to MOM, which the earliest u can appeal successfully is 3 weeks and it may took over 1 month. Good luck.

For my case, i appeal and waited 3 weeks. Downgrading to work permit is really a silly way to go as in the future ur company might not apply back EP for u.

Since u still got bout 20+ days left in Singapore, it is best that u extend your stay via e-xtend for another 1 month while waiting for ur appeal.

Having working in SG, do u guys feel SG is better than MY or MY is better than SG?
*
For me, i think that SG is a good place for youngster to start their career and gain experience. For long run and with such hectic lifestyle, it gonna impact on ur health when u grow old.

So i think Malaysia is always a good place for old people to retired.

QUOTE(ba5tard @ Feb 13 2011, 09:18 PM)
no idea bout dis rick... but mayb u can bring over to your relatives house in kay el thru car den after dat when u transit bak to sarawak should not be a problem gua... juz a wild shoot... haha...

I am not sure though, maybe the custom at the airport might tax us if we bring the big screen TV via airplane.
