i know they can work illegally, but still, i won't be advising them to work without permit because there are many cases where the employer abusing the worker beacuse he don't have a permit.

What do I have to do to get visitor pass ?

Added on December 16, 2010, 4:59 am

Is 3M recruiting E&E graduate any time soon ? =D
*
the visitor pass = the white card that u used to enter singapore.

i think 3M is hiring E&E now or mechanical, i am not too sure. I saw the internal job posting searching for electrical engineer or something.

guys,
do you think it's worth it to work at sg for 6 months on a SGD5k pay?

I'm curious is there any cost for agent fee if we move in to a HDB room. And do we need to buy matress etc etc?
*
if i am correct, if u work under certain number of months (i think is below 8 months, correct me if i am wrong), u will need to pay tax. For the HDB rent, it depend on whether u found the houses through agent, or through house owner.

If u are through agent, then u need to pay for the agent fee which is 1/2 of the rental. For the mattress, normally the house owner will provide u with it. Either a new mattress or old one (normally old one).

There are good and bad on having an agent to rent a room.

With agent,
You tend to pay 1/2 of ur monthly rental to them, but they can guarantee you that the house owner can't raise the rental price.

Without agent,
You tend to save the 1/2 of ur rental but u never know that the house owner can raise the room prices anytime. I had met such situation before where house owner put cheaper price to get a tenant then after 2 months staying, they want to raise the room prices.

Anyone have suggestion on what prepaid package is most valuable?

I find out the incoming call in SG is not FREE... thus normally they will have daily 60cents deduction...

Anyone using package like Starhub Happy Stars? Is those marketing gimmick or really value for money? smile.gif

Just plan to get a prepaid but not a heavy user yet smile.gif

i recommend u happy 128

http://www.starhub.com/support/mobile/faq/...8topupcard.html

But this StarHub do not have Free Incoming Call.

Do you know how much is the incoming call charges if I do not activate the Free Incoming Call?

I think I will not receive much calls at the moment...

The Free incoming call is quite confusing smile.gif

the reason why i suggest happy 128 is that when u reload, u got 100SGD local call and 28SGD for international call. And with 100 dollar of local call, i can guarantee you that u can never finish those amount by just receiving call. Unless u receive call for 24/7.

Having the thoughts of working part time in Singapore is actually good, but the chances of getting hired just to work part time can be equal to 0, because the employer need to pay and apply the work permit for u.

Also, if u work less than 183 days, you are taxable as a non-resident at 15% flat.

I m looking for the audit job in sg..i have sent much resume to them but no one is reply me..
may i know what is my problem?or they are no need ppl in this period?
somemore, my result for last short semester havent released, will it affect my employement reply?
anyone can help me?is it need to walk in interview?I am a degree holder.
*
Relax bro, it is normal that you don't receive much replies at this month because it is already year end and people tend to wait for bonus before resign. Trust me that next early year will have more jobs opening. In the mean time, try improve your resume so that it look nicer.

And for the result yet to released, it is ok but once you obtained your result, you need to submit to your HR. biggrin.gif

You can actually apply now, no harm done. But i think you will only have response on January or so.

I am an engineer and i don't work on audit firm, but my friend might know some company though. Have to ask my friend.

For the application, it is best that you send through email to the HR. Normal mail is too slow.

Refer this to help on your employment and which company you are interested. Here

No one have the exact time when they will hired. Diff company have their own diff time of giving out the bonuses. My guess is end of Jan onward or so.
