it depend on where u stay, for example, i am from Sarawak, and it is best for me to put Singapore address for higher chances to get a job. But if u are from west Malaysia, i think Malaysia address should be ok.

The work pass is apply by ur employer only. And how long u decide to work in singapore? Be aware that part time job is only for singaporean and PR only. Well, some people from lowyat might teach u the illegal way, but i am a person who go by law.

also, ur next company will ask u why u resign within few months. It is best not to resign tat early as it will consider as job hop.

well, u can tell them tat u dun like the previous job, but they will ask u, how sure are u toward this new job? We are foreigner in Singapore and we require work permit to work, the HR can just track ur work permit to know some info bout you.

Also, MOM will track ur record, and MOM might reject ur work permit application due to the previous record.

yo guys! which is better, searching a job in sg from msia or sg. opinions pls =p. & is it possible for me to rent a room in sg without a job?
*
If u are from West Malaysia, searching from Malaysia should be no prob, but if u are from East Malaysia, it is best u search from Singapore. Also, it is illegal to rent a room in SG without a work permit. U can however, stay with ur cousin's house or someone that u know.

For me, when i come Singapore for job hunt, i stay at Backpacker Lodge, it is not cheap though but at least i have a place to stay while ongoing job hunting.

I doubt you can stay long enough in a rented room just to look for a job. Plus the golden rule in singapore is "you can whatever you like, as long as you dont get caught".

Assuming the landlord allows to rent his/her place for someone on the short term and only you 2 know about the deal, who's gonna spill the beans if the only people you know the deal are in it?
*
My advise is dun rent a room at HDB, but instead go for backpacker lodge.

Like i said, i doubt the landlord would rent a room for a couple of days like some motel.
*
backpacker lodge do rent, it is for all the foreign backpacker people stay there. U can stay there as long as u want, but then again, ur visitor pass only allowed 2 months max stay.

This is what i think, so if it somehow offense anyone, i am sorry.

I stay in Malaysia for quite awhile, well from Sarawak to be exact. The reason i think that Singapore won't be a good place for kids is that they will be affected by peer influence, as i work here for 1 year, i notice most of the kids here being pampered by technologies. Even a young kid at the age bout 12 already having iphone 4. For this, i think this is a bad influence.

Also, staying in HDB where you all know that majority of the people here busy on working and have less time for their kid. And due to commitment in work, i notice my house owner don't know much bout their neighbor. So, your kid will ended up most likely in the flat doing nothing, or somehow they will know some kids from the block where their parent don't even care less. This is what i know from where i stay and what i observe. The truth is that Singaporeans are really bad at taking care of their children (no offense for those Singaporean that reading this).

And, Singapore here have too much disease. You call label me as "kia si" but during MRT ride, i notice a lots of people having serious skin disease and the cancer rate in Singapore are quite high. The pollution started as early at 5a.m. Smokers are everywhere at Jurong East (other places also having smokers). Even newspaper had statistics showing that the smokers in Singapore are increasing. Sarawak still having a better air than Singapore.

Lastly, i don't want to grow old in Singapore because once you reach certain age, you won't be able to do anything except watching TV inside the flat and sleep and eat. I rather buy a house in Malaysia where i got a piece of land where i can plant something. Well, at least i have something to do rather than in Singapore.

what i intended to do is get a PR in Singapore and married. Then i will opt for a flat and maybe have the most 1 kid here, and at the age of bout 5 i will think to migrate to Aus. Well, that is my personal planning.

I ve seen same problem exist everywhere, include here in Malaysia.

It's both the kids and the parents problem, not the country.
Kids doesn't know how to differentiate needs and wants, and the one who paid for it is the parents.
*
Tat is why i mention, for KL "yes", for Singapore "yes".

But for Sarawak, it is a whole diff story.

Kuching is a whole different story, had a friend there that lives a far more luxury tech lifestyle compared to me.

Anyway my point is, it's how the person raised and how much he/she relied on it, is like kids staring at other kids who own something cool and they want one for themselves or humans that can't live without cars, cellphone, internet and etc.

Singapore has nothing to do with it.
*
yes, u have friend which lives far more luxury lifestyle, but compare to Singapore, i see 10 kids at least 2 having at least psp, iphone, ipad, etc, but in Sarawak, 10 kids, i can hardly spotted one.

In a country which their technology keep improving, comparing to a country which developing in slow pace, so which kid will get influence more? I notice the kid in Singapore rebel towards their parent more than wat i see in Malaysia.

Singapores tech doesnt really improve, its just their wallets which then allows them the luxury to guy goods not easily accessible to the masses at other countries.

I have no clue, i've only seen them on the oil rigs since its usually a "sausage fest". So its refreshing when you see a girl onboard.

btw erm lets say if I became a PR then I'll pay part of my salary 2 CPF. Few years later, I decides to go back Malaysia to work. Will I get back my CPF funds immediately?
*
it depend on where u from, if u are from west malaysia then u need to wait till ur retired age, which is 55 then u can get back.

If u are from east malaysia, u can get back anytime u want. smile.gif

Hi guys, currently I am finding company in Sg to do my industrial training, is there any recommendation for engineering related companies? hmm.gif
*
I am not sure bout the chances of one getting industrial training in Singapore but what i heard is very low because u need to have a working permit to work here. Unless u study in singapore and the student pass then u can get industrial training here.

I have sent to 3 companies in sg, and one of them asked me to interview with them in sg sweat.gif
I dont think making the working permit is hard for them, especially for big companies.

3 is kinda less, since only one out of 10++ will really reply student. So I am thinking of sending my application to more company, but i have hard time finding company is sg sweat.gif
*
Wow, ur response not bad le. For me last time, i send out more than 10 companies and non replied D:

Still, choose the right company with u so that after the intern, u can straight work there without problem.
