RB ... u forgot Perch?

yeah left back is top priority. We don't have a decent backup for that position. I wonder why this matter is overlooked for the past few seasons until now. I'm not sure, the last time we had 2 LB, was it Robbie Elliott & Jose?

Tottenham are increasing their efforts to sign Newcastle's Andy Carroll during this month's transfer window.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew insists the 21-year-old striker is not for sale. However, Spurs have been given an indication that a deal could be reached.

Pardew has already admitted he is interested in Tottenham duo Robbie Keane and David Bentley, who have both been told they will be sold this month should Spurs receive a good offer. The club are willing to trade both players and cash for England frontman Carroll, who has impressed in his debut season in the Premier League having scored 11 goals so far.

Keane and Bentley are valued at around £12million and it will take another £8m on top of that for Newcastle to consider the deal.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is under pressure not to cash in on the club's prize asset but Tottenham believe he can be tempted to sell, especially as he will get two experienced Premier League players in return. Harry Redknapp is also believed to be prepared to offer Peter Crouch as part of the bait to get Carroll away from St James' Park.

glad to see that we still can score even without Carroll, that should put off some pressure from Carroll's shoulder. Best really open my eyes big wide, hope you can continue the great job!

boy we played really good, just look at Pienaar who did'nt have any chance

err...is he that highly-rated?

lennon had been dangerous after he switched to the left side, where simpson doesn't really able to cope up with his pace. On a few occasion, when lennon burst into the penalty area, simpson no where to be found doh.gif

guess barton is helping out guthrie in central midfield.

barton's through ball to Loven is fantastic, just the finishing is a letdown.

another thought, since our finishing is so poor, maybe can get Shearer in to sharpen the lads finishing skills ... i know that's not going to happen lol
