as jananan said, i am testing whether the patch driver really sucks battery or not..that's why i have 2 kernel power 46..one is the most stable one (v46), the other one is kernel 46-wl12..

the purpose of having 2 v46 is because if the patch driver(v46-wl12) fails/unstable/sucks battery life, i could boot into original 46...

currently i will leave the phone on v46-wl12 to test the battery issue reported by some users from TMO..

EDIT : THX TO MELI WHO HELPED ME ABOUT THE MULTIBOOT THING..U'RE THE MAN MELI!! thumbup.gif
*
I suppose you created boot file manually for both kernel 46?

Ah...Good old fdisk method...

QUOTE(one1002 @ Jan 5 2011, 06:47 PM)
where is the flasher located?where do u have it installed?

eg: if u installed it to C:\Program Files\maemo\Flasher-3.5,

open command prompt..type

cd C:\Program Files\Maemo\flasher-3.5

then turn off your phone (easy way - REMOVE BATTERY, REINSERTS)

DO NOT TURN ON YOUR PHONE!

SLIDE THE KEYBOARD OUT...[b]HOLD U BUTTON..THEN ONLY YOU CONNECT YOUR USB CABLE TO THE PHONE...[/B]

after that, do the flasher command, flasher.exe -F R.bin -f

this is very easy friend..
*
Note the highlighted point. Some people tend to insert usb cable 1st then try only press "u" multiple times.

btw the reason I don't provide PR's in FP anymore is because distribution of firmware file outside Nokia site is prohibited.

QUOTE(angelbratz @ Jan 5 2011, 06:55 PM)
Haiz....

Infinite loop again

Reflashing again...
*
You mean you just reflashed again & installed NITDroid then this reboot loop happen again?

Assuming you're using Windows 7:

Connect your phone the way you do during firmware update

Go to Control Panel -> Devices & Printers

Is your N900 listed in update mode now?

hi bro, im new here, and quite a noob.

anyway, i have 1 question, is it possible to crack WEP just using the aircrack-ng installed from repos, without installing neopwn at all? (of course with packet injection driver installed)

thanks.
*
Depends on the complexity of the password.

QUOTE(zeeker87 @ Jan 5 2011, 07:10 PM)
YEah..stated as (Update Mode) there..
*
So it's problem with the phone.
Check your firmware & vanilla file directory.

Try rebooting your pc/laptop also.

meaning it's possible, but when encounter with strong password, i still need to install neopwn?
*
You need to read neopwn's maemo talk page to understand whats the functions of it - http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=811733

Normal aircracking will utilize bruteforce method.Which could take forever depending on the password length & characters.Library method is better but I don't know whether the aircracking you have right now supports this.
You have to pm one1002 for detailed info.

But if you really into network penetration I suggest you to just install neopwn because it has lots of extra functions which could be useful.

Means gingerbread is rooted.eyes already did a good job by including busybox in froyo.
Looks like Gingerbread NITDroid will be much more hacker friendly.
From what I can see focus of NITDroid development has turned to Gingerbread. No idea whether there will be any significant development on Froyo anytime soon.
At least while messing with Gingerbread crevetor managed to mount v35 kernel.

Downloading ubuntu 10.10 for the upcoming format now...

About the Windows for ARM it's still in concept state
When Microsoft guys demoed it at CES they were using a bare SOC system.I don't think even they know what exactly to do with it.
But seems like Microsoft Office(ARM version) runs fairly well too.Note that you still need to port the existing X86 to ARM because ARM don't support X86 execution.

One of the biggest advantage of ARM over Intel processor is the low power consumption. So Microsoft ported the OS in case any company decided to make ARM based laptop.
All this could be useless if Intel somehow manage to deliver a low power consumption processor as they promised some time ago.
Don't think the moorestown based processor used in Aava Mobile have decent battery life.

Hey it'll better if AMD make Fusion processor for handheld. Now that's revolutionary...

QUOTE(christcwl9 @ Jan 6 2011, 03:10 PM)

Use PR 1.3
With moderate calls & internet you phone will last 2 days.

Mine can last 2 1/2 days.

How to we put in files to the Andriod via USB?

Thank youuu....
*
Gingerbread's vt keyboard problem caused by orientation if i'm not mistaken.eyes just fixed it.No idea when the patch will be released.

Plug in your phone & your should enter USB mode. But I noticed some people have problem with this.

Anyway try this :

CODE
wget http://downloads.nitdroid.com/Jay-c/kernel/nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-06_final1_armel.deb
dpkg -i nitdroid*deb

Your NITDroid should be up & running after this

How much free space you have at root right now?

Dah...Obviously you screwed upp the NITDroid file location...

{INT_CARD} imply that your NITDroid files is in SD card.

I did notice that multiboot does have issue with EMMC NITDroid installation.
I'll give this another test when I take another quick ride with gingerbread tomorrow.

Good night folks.Have to sleep early today so I don't miss my final chance to watch Tron Legacy.

Navigate to /etc/multiboot.d/ & edit the XX-NITDroid-mmcblk0p5-2.6.25.NIT.06item

Edit so it'll look like this:

ITEM_NAME="NITDroid 2.6.28.NIT.06 on mmcblk0p5"
ITEM_KERNEL=2.6.28.NIT.06
ITEM_MODULES=ext3
ITEM_DEVICE=${INT_CARD}p5
ITEM_FSTYPE=ext3
ITEM_FSOPTIONS=rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro

So far I've tried Maxis/DiGi/Celcom normal sim card + Maxis & Celcom 3G sim card & all of them download the data setting automatically & I can straight away start using internet.
I think you better reflash your phone & start fresh because I think there are some applications which causing this problem.

My modified NITDroid 2.2 is gone...Sacrificed for Gingerbread.
Maybe tomorrow after complete reflash + repartition I'll revert back to 2.2

But eyes just announced that future NITDroid will all based on Gingerbread hmm.gif

Added on January 7, 2011, 6:37 pmI don't see what's the fuss with the Gingerbread installation..

Corrupted files,OS not loading,extreme laggyness etc2

Nope.USB connection don't work for me also. But I think it's caused by driver problem by Windows 7,not the Android issue.USB charging working though.

USB connection worked with v0.0.9 NITDroid 2.2

Yep. Sold my soul to the turtleneck man. For now anyway. Initial impressions are that this thing ain't as much as crappy as a phone as many people (including myself) has led me to believe lol. It's no Maemo, but as far as simple-ish OSes go, it's not THAT bad.

But you know what really drove me to this madness? A little gem called Game Dev Stories, lolrawr. It's available for android BTW for those of you dual-booting.
*
Not my taste of game...

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jan 8 2011, 03:31 PM)
Better not, or Apple wil start telling people you're not OC'ing phones the right way lol.

Plus, I don't intend to push the limits much with my ayephong. Gonna enjoy it slow and steady (at least until a stable untethered JB comes along lol).

But seriously, the millions of fart apps aside, the app store 'concept' was the best thing they ever came up with. I mean, hater as I was back then, I downloaded more apps onto my lol bro's ayephong (the original source of evil) more then he did himself lol.
*
Bullsh*t Apple don't even disclose actual clock speed of iPhone's A4 processor. It'll be very hard to OS iPhone.Even if it's possible for sure Apple will use legal means to stop this.Plus they can also easily stop this with simple update.

So your iPhone comes with iOS 4.2.1? Too bad tongue.gif
Those who bough iPhone around beginning of December got iOS 4.1

This "App Store" concept actually a Nokia idea. But never really took off because not so impressive collection of applications for Symbian.
iOS's "interesting" API brought lots of impressive applications.Hence the App Store success.

Frankly speaking I think OVI Store is more organized that Android Market.Market is real mess.

Apple's App Store may have lots of impressive apps but it also have number of stupid apps like the farting apps doh.gif

While I like the appstore for all the gems inside, you actually have to wade through a tiring array of crap, really. Although some (a very small number lar) that actually look like crap are in reality merely undiscovered gems.

And about OCing, I hope my sarcasm got through. You're holding it wrong, geddit?
*
There are thousand of apps in App Store & it's very hard to try each 1 of them...
I test iOS apps more than my sister does with her iPhone

But most of the real interesting stuff is at Cydia repo brows.gif

Steve says don't OC,buy newer iPhone. That's the correct way.

Nokia N900 PR 1.4 launch Q2,2011and may have MeeGo1.2 with Dual-boot

PR 1.4... I've come to accept that PR 1.3 is the last PR update for Maemo 5.Hopefully news like this won't simply raise my hope but end with sour note...

In case you’re stuck under reboot loop after installing kernel power v45/46 use the following command to flash your phone.I’m assuming you’re following the frontpage method of flashing so I’ll be using R.bin as image name.

CODE
flasher-3.5 -F R.bin --flash-only=kernel -f -R

Type the following command at Maemo Flasher & try reboot by pressing 0

How does the USB cable related to any of this stuff?

SUCKS!1!!1 big time... that is why i dun like it.... also the the gayphone only play among themself... so no BT with other phone or anything with other phone....
*
Not really. As Eiraku said there are plenty of productivity based apps in App Store.
Example for my sis,she downloaded bunch of medical related apps from App Store which is helpful with her job.Android lacks apps like this.

If you want simple OS,good OS support plus wide range of apps you may want to think iPhone as an option.

Yes the camera software sucks. But it does takes decent picture right?Majority of the phone camera are designed to take average quality picture.
Only some rare smartphones are designed for the camera purpose...

Crap...Now I sound like turtleneck ambassador doh.gif
