Try your luck in Nokia Official Store or Ebay.
Since N900 just announced EOL there might be parts for sale in cheap prize.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Dec 26 2010, 10:43 PM)
fall down wont crack like tat. Mostly someone sit on it or accidentally poke it
*
No.If the force of impact caused by object with small square area(in other word sharp objects) there will be this kind of damage.

Kinda sad if an admin move on from N900.It's like a good promotion for this thread with two of the admin having this phone/tablet/whateveryoucallit

Majority of functions in Maemo 5 only work in landscape.
You can try pressing CTRL + SHIFT + R to force rotate some stuff.

You didn't research about this phone properly before buying?

^There is also way to flash kernel file onlt from firmware file.

QUOTE(arcalius_7 @ Dec 28 2010, 09:53 PM)
errr..guys, anyone know why I kenot move apps in nitdroid to SD(aka MyDocs partition)? izzit because Android only recognize ext3 partition for running apps?

I also wonder izzit possible to run nitdroid with 3 partitions like
+android system - mounted on /home
+/sdcard - MyDocs partition
+"extra" - My microSD card.

Kinda wasted my 8GB microSD now..
*
Haven't got to this part yet but possibly I'll never have solve this because my NITDroid partition is 5GB.Enough to install majority of apps I want.

QUOTE(techies_kid @ Dec 28 2010, 10:20 PM)
Newb again...does user experience in Nitroid is almost equal or better than maemo in N900? I mean mana lagi syiok??
*
N900 is designed to run Maemo. As such Maemo should always be a primary OS for N900.No other OS will run as well as the default OS on a particular device.
But yes,Android 2.2 runs fairly well on N900.Good enough to play majority of games such Asphalt5.

If you want a fully working Android with proper hardware support why don't you consider buying a Android phone?

QUOTE(creative zn @ Dec 29 2010, 12:01 AM)
guys.. i got two question here.

1- do you know the best music player for N900 that can change/adjust the equalizer? been searching around, all music player that i download only able to play music at all. sad.gif

2- can fmms send multiple image at  time?

thanks in advance guys.  smile.gif

1)Symfonie

2)No idea.Seldom receive MMS.

QUOTE(DET_D5t @ Dec 29 2010, 01:04 AM)
after a day using original (nokia) kernel, i'm thinking that it much2 more save battery than v46 kernel...huhu
*
Recently made it 2 1/2 days...Forgot to bring my charger during Christmas & I thought my phone battery will die on Saturday evening. To my surprise there was still 9% of the battery left when I reach my hostel back.

QUOTE(benji @ Dec 29 2010, 08:45 AM)
anyone can comment about this graff?

I don't even have to view your image at full size to know that your phone have some issue.

You CPU usage is high even on the idle state.Try installing "HTop" from App Manager to know what are the application which are taking the most resource in your device.

QUOTE(eyes,)
Trust me, when voice/calls will be close to be rdy, I'll tell about it. Good news: I'm on holidays from 31.12 till 10.01.

There you go...People are really demanding & selfing when it comes to things that they want even though it's free doh.gif
I've explain in a quite long post on why I think the voice transmission on NITDroid might take some time to develop.

[attachmentid=1966433]

resized MyDocs (Primary Partition) to 8GB, home(Primary) to 2GB, 1 extended partition with 3 extra logical partitions(4GB each) inside and 1 with 5GB..

Plus 16GB of microSD..  =)

i'm not quite sure about liveCD though.......if u can savely remove drive using the Gparted LiveCD, then i think it should be ok...detecting the drives is one thing, unmounting them is another..so, if the GParted liveCD can do both, i think ur good to go..

but i'd still recommend u to have linux machine though.. (ubuntu, linuxmint, fedora, archlinux etc...) it's easier..lol..
*
I'm not quite sure on the unmounting part also...

I think it's about time I move to my ubuntu/fedora combo to my netbook on full time.Virtual mode isn't that usefull all the time.

After messing with Maemo -> Android -> iOS,now I'm messing with Symbian pulak doh.gif
Cousin asked me to buy 5800 for him & install stuff.Have to say after using Maemo/Android for a long time & I really dislike this version of symbian.

My download folders full with deb, apk, ipa & sis files now doh.gif

@one1002
pm me with the full repartitioning guide.I've plan to update some stuff on fp soon.
Hopefully I'll be free next week to do all this pending work.

I'll only leave Maemo if my N900 is damaged beyond repair & I cannot buy a replacement.

On the touch screen comparison, eventhough N900 & 5800 using similar resistive screen N900's touch screen response is miles better.
QWERTY keyboard on 5800? Meh...Forget it.It's practically useless.

yes i know "rm -rf /" is a welcome card to grim reaper LOL..im just curious  /home contains folder for maemo like "user" & yadayada..so i afraid rm -rf * in /and erases /home/user too..well im glad if sifu here can shed the lights nod.gif
*
/home/ mostly contains applications files only...In some case you can still boot into Maemo with corrupted /home/ partition.

Whenever you mess with rm -rf / or any other partition destroying command just make sure your partition mounting label.
Like jananan's Android is in mmcblk0p5.Mine is on mmcblk0p4.Others maybe installed in mmcblk0p6 or any any other number of partition.

Anyway as a grim reaper repeller always keep maemo flasher/PR 1.3 image/vanilla image with you before you mess with system files.

It's pretty simple actually.Check youtube if you plan to dissemble your N900.

QUOTE(RViN @ Jan 4 2011, 10:12 AM)
Nothing actually but the keys have faded as I do use the keyboard often lol

Actually need a body too as under the keyboard that thin plastic is cracked. Any resellers in Malaysia has?
*
PM wKKaY & ask him the detail of the seller which he bought his LCD replacement. That seller is from Malaysia.
If he's selling N900 LCD maybe he got other parts too.

0.0.9 sir..i've installed nitdroid on my repartitioned emmc..particularly partition 5 (mmcblk0p5)..

but in order to do that, i have to uninstall backupmenu first (the problem here is not backupmenu, but rather the dependency bootmenu-n900 which conflicts with multiboot)...

i haven't explore nitdroid yet..but i can boot it from multiboot..

Added on January 4, 2011, 3:07 pmowh, on the side note, i will try the wl125 driver patch for packet injection to see if its working with V46..just downloaded the patch (141mb) which includes the custom V46-wl1..hoping to try it with neopwn tonight

if it works, then i'll have the best of the world..lol..

maemo + ubuntu + nitdroid + neopwn(packet injection) + h-e-n
*
Never really try the autoinstaller so no idea what's the android version there...

Just started typing a bit for the updates.I assume majority of you guys using autoinstaller?

A pity maemo don't have apps like vmware to power up these os virtually. It's a bit hassle to reboot to another OS.

correct...but easy debian is the way...

i'm still waiting for uboot to be user-friendly though i know i'll be waiting for ages for this...

given the tutorial alone makes me dizzy in sorting things out..unlike multiboot, u can just create boot item..  sad.gif

have u try the repartitioning method i sent u sir?
*
Haven't...But looking at the guide it should work. Will add it a FP soon.

uboot made me rclxub.gif
I don't really have head/tail of info about uboot.Barely have any info to work on it.

In media player.. so i use the tracker-processes --r method?
And sometimes it auto duplicate in file manager also..
Anyone facing same issue?
*
Yup.Try the tracker -r method 1st.

QUOTE(one1002 @ Jan 5 2011, 01:09 AM)
i can now multiboot :

1. maemo-kernel omap1
2. kernel 2.6.28.10power46
3. kernel 2.6.28.10power46-wl1 (packet injection!!!!!!!!!!!!yeahh!!)
4. NITDroid

injection is working.....now left to try h-e-n..still waiting for the adapter af-af...
*
h-e-n will work for sure..

Why are you using 2 kernel power 46?Is the modified kernel power have too much stuff running at background to be used for a long time?
Or the modified kernel dependent on default v46 kernel?

It's nice to know packet injection is now working but it's not much useful for me.
Main reason I wanted neopwn was because I want to crack some WiFi password. But since my U hosted quite a number of pros, majority of the wifi are encrypted with WPA2 encryption which will make cracking lot harder...
