Nah.. Impossible. We haven't even gotten Froyo yet. Chances of getting Gingerbread is quite low for G5 as this is 1 of the lowest end android phone available. We should be grateful that we even got Froyo. Even phones like x10/mini only have Eclair.

Anyone here using their pushmail on their G5, leaving it active all the time ?
What is the battery life ?

well said.. IMHO, i think gingerbread requirement will also increase to fully utilize the OS

last rumour review say that gingerbread need at least 1g cpu+ 512mb rom and ram so if this true this aint nice news for G5

According to Samfirmware, both Galaxy 3/5 will not get gingerbread........due to low resolution and CPU frequency. Galaxy S maybe

actually gingerbread has not much different with froyo

so far, nvr test rmvb or larger frame size movie..
but the low screen resolution of G5 is very obvious when playing movie..

Like SGPC's benchmark test, Eclair already utilized our CPU to a very high degree. The OS doesn't have much flaw compared to other phones.

How do i enable back my unclock screen? Since i use DIY Screensaver,after i disable DIY,theres no unlock screen....

I know the download to sd card setting. But seem cant to find it where the apps put the downloaded books.

I'm with you, even many of the more expensive phone such Xperia only got eclair, they can't upgrade to froyo. We are so blessed to have cheap phone that have the compatibly to use froyo.

Been using tethering since yesterday. Celcom 3g is unrealable, many times you event open fb cause the conection is too slow. only this morning i got a steady 50 Kb/s connection. Look like i will not potong streamyx anytime soon,( really hate streamyx ). Now I'm downloading by teathering conection, to see if connection got that annoying tiba-tiba disconnected.

In short I'm satisfied with the froyo tethering, seems to do it's job properly.

No, but you can split the apk.

was playing with handcent and found this feature to ask for password when we try to access the sms.
it's under security & privacy->security lock type.
it can even lock the default messaging.
