It's the GFX5..... not the 505.... I have them both.... And they now both equally sucks......

And I'm using a very old Laney Linebacker.... and it sounds ok.... but then again.... that could be due to my new Tonelab SE.....

You'll be VERY dissapointed if you stick with the Zoom GFX5 and the Laney15 watter.....

Instead of the GFX5 and the Laney, why don't you get a vox or even a Line6......
I hear the Line6 SpiderII 30w is going for RM625 now.... Throw in the FBV Express Foot Controller and you have effects, pedals AND and amp for around RM1000.. If you got some extra cash lying around..... try out the SpiderII 112 (75w) with the FBV..

Read the review in Guitarist today, apparently it packs volume in it. Not sure how it fares against the Microcube though. biggrin.gif

How about JEM555? Does it really suck? I thought its a bargain. For the guitar itself i can get for 2000.Does it worth it? There's another Korean made LP thats made in 90s but its using a gibson pickup.Rm1,800.Is it worth the money?I need advise especially on the guitar. As i'm purchasing my electric guitar first time in my life.I need a fat mellow and sweet tone. But when it comes to rocking it won't disappoint me.Something like eric clapton signature but its far too expensive.

dont buy the jem.
even the seller himself dunno anything about his own guitar, so dunno if its even his or even real, ie. a fake ibanez.

go buy khairold's LP if you want.

To be fair, I think the JEM is real, the seller is just ignorant but ya, better spend your money on the LP.

nah, you cant be ignorant on details like single or double locking trem.
plus if its a lo-trs, the name would be stamped onto the trem anyway, unless he cant read.
hasnt really posted pics of the guitar or a serial number yet tongue.gif

btw, heres a fake ibanez jem being sold locally.

If you want that fat mellow tone, you gotta go with an LP.....
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard should be around RM1800..... that's a good start.
Also, you can check out the ESP LTD Eclipse.... ESP Custom pickups, Les Paul body, and wicked tone. Around RM1600 I think (in guitar collection midvalley)

I'm sure the JEM555 is genuine. But its not a good buy? I'm still considering.Khairold's LP is good. But its stilla korean made, besides,i don't really like LP.Heavy...but the tone is good...thats for sure.Ask blacktrix. He wants ZW wat.The LP is equpped with EMG pickups.

How about rm1500 for a japanese made strat? or a mexican made telecaster?

which is better? i've always liked telecaster.Just that it can't rock as well as strats.

If you can't take the weight, forget about mellow tone......
The warmer the tone is.... the heavier the guitar is (normally)

Try out the LTD Eclipse.... really. It's not as heavy as an Epi LP... but still has that warm tone.

I know the weight affects the tone.but i think its really heavy. Not the normal heavy, imagine slinging it over ur shoulder and standing for an hour.Thats why LP users are so fit! Slash is one for example! Other than that, can't remember other LP users. Please don't tell me its ZW. I'm thinking about the LP and strat,Which to choose...

Like i say its my first time purchasing an axe.So i need some expert advise from people like you.I dont dare to try out in shops seriously. My skills are not there yet, don't have that kinda guts.Besides bentley gives cutthroat prices right? i always prefer second hand instrument.

Thanks for your help though.find it really useful.

well, ask yourself this.
how often will you be playing the LP standing up?
even if you play gigs also at most you'll get about a 20-30min set.
you're not gonna be playing 2hr stadium setlists tongue.gif

plus you have to try the guitar.
for beginners, later on they'll complain neck is too big etc.
if you want slim necks, your best choices are fender or ibanez.

actually there are two.
orville and 'orville by gibson'.
if not mistaken, the latter specialises in accurate reissues etc.

so again, darren, where did you see a jap strat for RM1500?
