now ok already, so this is wat i did,

it might be software.
try to restore again using iTunes.

this is not your firmware.That is your modem firmware.
It should be iOS 4.1
This problem has been discussed in version 12 iPhone Club.
Do restore again your phone using iOS 4.1.

Cant be unlock.. once baseband upgraded cant downgrade back.. you can only downgrade firmware but cant downgrade baseband..

I lolz when i look at the size of the iOS 600 ++ MB for this update ...

1st time iphone user ... didn't know that the file size would be this big! is it trying to uninstall the entire OS and install it back in?

I just got my iP4 recently, and today something weird happen. My phone made some noise (I think it is signaling something?) but when I press the menu button there's nothing.

sorry2.. no JB discussion...
can anyone enlighten me on how to restore my ip4..
i tried upgrading, then an error message came up..
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1013)."

then i tried restoring it.. still same problem.. any idea how to do tackle this? im downloading the previous firmware (4.1) and HOPEFULLY it can restore to that version.. but aside from that, anyone can enlighten me on whats going wrong here? tq in advance

The iPhone update isn't so noticeable. AirVideo/AirPlay and Find My iPhone are the two most important additions, I suppose. Otherwise finding text in Safari is also notable, along with the ability to customize you contacts' ringtones and text tones.

But IMO all the new tones are horrible, except for Noir and Suspense.

im plunging my iphone 4 to the pc for few hours thou due to downloading the 4.2OS..

izzit ok for keep charging it like that???
izzit gonna damage the batt??

Is there a way to access selected folders on my desktop from my iPhone using a wifi connection, a little like what Windows 7 Homegroup does?

There is TeamViewer, but that's another thing entirely, allowing you to remotely control your desktop. There's Dropbox/Sugarsync, both of which I havent tried, but those would require uploading the files first.
