Restoring the 1st method of doing.
Just download the 500mb file from iTunes and enjoy the rest.
It should be iOS4.2

Have you cycle your battery ?

Yes,you have to keep it ON unless you using wifi only to transmit data

this is not your firmware.That is your modem firmware.
It should be iOS 4.1
This problem has been discussed in version 12 iPhone Club.
Do restore again your phone using iOS 4.1.

No.You cant.Unless head to Celcom website and retrieve over there.
Data Celular works as your phone gateway(iPhone) allowing network to be connected to MMS server to receive the MMS.

i assume it will be abit sluggish.
why not give a try on ios4.1 1st.

650mb is normal.
why car when you have a big hardisk on your phone ? it only take less then 1gb.

apple also invested on the silent button.
please use

setting-wifi-(on the wifi 1st,then got blue color arrow after the signal and tab), - forget this network

connect back again and it will prompt new password

not restore.
restore to iOS 4.1.
i mean clean and fresh firmware.

Step 1. On your Mac, go to your “Applications” folder.

Step 2. Now navigate to the “Utilities” folder.

Step 3. Launch "Terminal".

Step 4. Type "sudo nano /etc/hosts" (without quotes) and hit return.

Step 5. Enter your password

Step 6. Use the down arrow key to find the “gs.apple.com” entries. Once the cursor is in front, make sure you comment out the line(s) by entering “#” in front of the text.

Step 7. Save the file by pressing CONTROL+O.

Step 8. Exit the nano editor by pressing CONTROL+X.

Step 9. Restore your iDevice.

why not android.
symbian OS doesnt gives you the benefits of enjoying.

the only button you have is On/Off for the WiFi.
i tried on my both office and home WiFi.
Only display the currect available network.
Maybe other 3rd party software would help you.
Open up the iTunes and search for Wifi.
I saw about 9 result over there.
Look over the description and donwload install it.

setting->ipod-> check out ( sound check off/volume limit off/eq off )

Anyone facing any problem updating the iOS 4.2.1?
Many have complaint about it updating halfway and stopped.
Then your iPhone kept booting over and over again saying that the updating failed.
The phone appeared to be in Restore mode showing the iTunes logo with the USB cable.

Here's the solution for all:

On Mac:

* Open Finder
* Hold down COMMAND + SHIFT keys and press ‘G’
* Enter “/private/etc/” in the field and press “Go”
* Find “hosts” file in the directory
* Drag the file to your desktop
* Open it in text editor
* Remove the line that has gs.apple.com entirely or put a # at the beginning of it to comment it out
* Save the file
* Drag it back to the /private/etc/ folder.
* You’d need to enter your username and password to authenticate the move

On Windows:

Locate the hosts file in one of the following directories:
Windows 95/98/Me c:windowshosts
Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:winntsystem32driversetchosts
Windows XP, Vista, 7 c:windowssystem32driversetchosts
Right go and go on “Open With…” and next visit on “Notepad” on the list.
* Remove the line that has gs.apple.com completely and save the file
