Is there a way to access selected folders on my desktop from my iPhone using a wifi connection, a little like what Windows 7 Homegroup does?

There is TeamViewer, but that's another thing entirely, allowing you to remotely control your desktop. There's Dropbox/Sugarsync, both of which I havent tried, but those would require uploading the files first.

You can sync your contacts to Google Contacts or Yahoo Address Book and iPhone will sync it from there. I dont think it can copy contacts from the SIM card.

I dont have a GPS app on my iPhone (yet), but the in-built Google Maps is pretty sweet actually, although on occasion your location will run by like 50 meters.

Guys, how do I connect to a wifi network? I have a wifi setup at home, and it's static IP, so I have to configure my IP and DNS config on my iPhone to be able to connect, and it does connect fine. But when I'm outside, say at Oldtown or Starbucks with non-password protected wifi, I can connect to the network with the default settings, the wifi icon appears in the top left, but I'm not able to connection to the Internet.

En QuickFire,

When you're @ home, you set the static IP on the phone then you can use the internet. This bypass the DHCP to assign you an IP address. SO you are good to go.

When you're out @ OldTown and connect to the WiFi, tap the blue arrow and see if you are on DHCP, BootIP or Static. If static then you need to tap on DHCP so OldTown WiFi can assign their own IP to you.

Hope that clear the air for you

When I'm in OldTown I use the default settings eg. DHCP, I leave the IP address, DNS, Router address unchanged. The Wifi signal icon appears in the top left after maybe 20 seconds, signal is okay, but I cant actually connect to the internet. I've tried this in a few places and I'm never able to connect to the internet.

Is there a way to make all the apps and websites in Safari remember my usernames and passwords? I'm not sure how autofill works, the button is always greyed out.

How come sometimes when I access my mail app, it says "the username or password for gmail is incorrect"? I can assure you it is correct. Very annoying.

Can't do that. I have to put in the whole email address. Anyway, I tried following this

http://www.madebymark.com/madebymark/2008/...-issue-fix.html

But it only works for a while before my password is "wrong" again.

This has always annoyed me, but I've never tried looking for a solution before. When I take a photo in portrait mode (speaker facing down), and view the photo on my pc, it is always not rotated, basically it comes down horizontal landscape instead of vertical portrait. Any workaround for this?
