Hmm.. If I do spend that extra 200 what model would you recco?
*
There's the Dell U2311H RM599,LG E2350T RM539+,Acer S231HL RM525
Among these three the Dell have the best image quality and the best warranty policy. The LG takes the middle ground while the Acer is last.

You can use this test
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

Since it depends on your eyes it won't be as accurate as using a colorimeter but it's still better than nothing.

The dell have a better stand and tuned to a more accurate color,it also should be cheaper.I can't say the same for the AOC as there's no detailed review available

erm...currerntly got 2 monitor in mind , thats is Dell U2311H E-IPS and the Dell ST2310WA E-PVA , don know which is is better , give some comment guys~~

already pm him , but dint reply me  cry.gif

i thought the ST2310WA isn't sold here?

The E-PVA monitor should have a much better static contrast ratio compared to the eIPS,it also has a bit of gamma shift though.Personally i'd take the E-PVA LCD,the contrast ratio difference is what that makes that one come up top [if both are same priced.]

LED still same like LCD, just replaced CCFL Backlight with LED Array. ( Correct me if I wrong...noob in all this Monitor / TV field  sweat.gif  )

Only thing i know that will not have this issue is OLED, but it's it's still not widely avail yet =*(
*
well, ones with led backlight that has local dimming shouldn't have backlight bleeding, but iinm it's expensive.Normal edge lit WLED won't do the job.

dell u2311h ordered 31-jan ; delivered 7-feb. impressive delivery speed. very nice monitor. excellent picture quality.

i have a problem with it though

when i play video fullscreen, top part of the screen got frame tearing issues

help please? i tried mpc-hc vsync. didnt work

Update: frame tearing is not limited to video. everything is effected, as if the top 1cm of the screen is not in sync with the rest of the screen
*
have you tried the monitor with other pc?

hey guys can you give some suggestions ! my budget is RM500 , i saw a samsung LCD 23" inch is priced at 479 ! is it a good buy ?
*
iinm that's the Samsung 2333TN,it uses a type of VA panel so it should have better colours and viewing angles than most TN panel LCDs,the only downside i can find is that it only has a single VGA input port.

I have no idea why did the price gap got so much difference? now if I buy 2 more 23 inches... Does it make it weird if stick with my 24inches?
*
It's more expensive since it uses a better panel, has more connectivity options etc etc.btw you can actually get the U2410 at around RM1.3K in garage sales section .
Now even with that price it still costs as much as two U2311H though tongue.gif

if u want cheap, i guess i can recommend toshiba 24ps1 link(full hd panel with led backlit) lcd tv as monitor. Check it out on senheng shop , can confirm its using ips display (since its cheap, i guess they use e-ips, and there is no trailing when touching the panel)

p.s - sorry for recommending lcd tv for 24 inch display, bcoz the only ips/va offering are only dell u2410 and benq ew2420 and vw2420h (which both benq lcd are no availability yet in local market)
*
how much does it cost bro?seems mighty interesting biggrin.gif

BTW, since U already bought it, any problem with it?
For anybody who have bought Dell U2311H, any fault happen for this monitor?
*
imo it's unbeatable if compared with other sub RM800 monitors,i'm using one since last august and it's just great icon_rolleyes.gif
btw you won't bea ble to find Ultrasharp monitors sold in shops.
QUOTE(snowfire64 @ Feb 14 2011, 04:20 PM)
Hey'all

Any ideas what monitor fits this criteria?

22-24"
HDMI
Full HD
Glossy screen like Apple Cinema display.

I'm eyeing on the HP22309m 23 inch Diagonal Full HD LCD Monitor but, its specs are kinda outdated and price is quite steep.

Any other alternatives such as Samsung or others do guys know about?

Thanks
*
The glossy part is a bit hard since most LCDs have a matte coating on it.Are you against such coatings? What's your budget?

Not actually against it, but a matter of preference. Budget would be around 500-800.

I have the Hp w22" glossy monitor, but would like to add a new one for my system, so I was wondering if there are other brands that 's offering glossy screen.

If there's none, I'll probably go for the 23" Dell Ips panel which have a very reasonable price.
*
afaik only HP still sells relatively cheap glossy monitors, other brands use a matte coating.

cheap as in how cheap?imo that depends on the money saved,if it's less than rm200 it's not worth it.

That's a really expensive LCD, having deteriorated backlight is sad T_T

how old is it?

hehe..of cos nicer colour will be a benefit.. hdmi and nice colour have to sacrifice one.. sad.gif ..
and i head LED will more lasting compare to LCD only.. is tat true?

Why do you need HDMI actually? It's just DVI with audio

which i am going to connect it to my laptop for photoshop editing and designing works.

which is more suitable for my works?
*
Your usage is more suited to the more accurate colours of the the U2311H

ST2320L got hdmi port while U2311H got nicer colour.. but i found out another benefit which is it can swivel.. is the price rm609 a good buy for u2311H now? and wat is 3-Year Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Guarantee? so mean anything damaged their exchange instead of repair?
*
3 year advanced change means that if after troubleshooting your lcd is confirmed to be malfunctioning then they'will ship you a replacement unit the next business day and you need to send back yours for warranty

Premium panel guarantee means that if you have even only one bright pixel [one that stays in one colour all the time] they'll will ship you a replacement unit the next business day.

These are info from Google.

Added on February 18, 2011, 11:51 pmThe price will go down over time, but if you want it now why not just get it now?It isn't like it's going to come down rm150 in price over a short period of time like that.
