Thinking to grab 1 hdmi cable.

direct from GPU to my u2311h.

what brand is good ya... hmm.gif
*
why not just use the given DVI?
For HDMI cables, just pick the cheapest.Don't be conned paying hundreds for a Monster HDMI cable or some shit.
They make no difference.

Is the grainy thing very BAD??.....And noticeable during when??...i plan 2 get 1 also, but i wanna know the cons of dis U2311h.
*
it's not that bad imo, just the same as most other desktop LCDs.However compared to certain laptops' antiglare coating it is a bit rougher

QUOTE(zerorating @ Mar 14 2011, 08:36 PM)
grainy screen are normal for screen with antiglare coating, nothing serious here, maybe i look it too near(+-30cm) thats why noticeable  sweat.gif
but i still recommend u2311h to other, i can give 9.7/10 for rating thumbup.gif
*
bro,do you want to go into the screen? shakehead.gif
QUOTE(jeopardise @ Mar 15 2011, 12:43 AM)
I think the only con that I found are
1. No HDMI
2. A bit slow on power back on (took about 40 secs)
What grainy thing? Is it the backlight so uneven when viewed in dark environment? hmm.gif
*
it's the antiglare coating.

I have set the monitor from AUTO to DVI input so that it will look for DVI everytime it turned on.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm still took about 40 seconds to turn on hmm.gif

Now I can't set to auto. The monitor show Locked  rclxub.gif

Added on March 15, 2011, 9:10 pmIt seems I had this similar problem

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HI5bazK7FE

The menu button laggy after using it a while. To overcome this, just turn off and on at the wall plug. Then after that the button responds normally and YES it can turn on immediately after 3 secs turning off using the power button.

Weird bug or flaw.
*
Never realized/encountered that before. biggrin.gif

BTW bro, last time you said that you've used a 20" Phillips LCD at work at you said it's good. How good is it actually compared to the U2311H?What's the exact model?
I'm looking for a 20" now and the ones i've seen are ..... shakehead.gif

shakehead.gif why this LG 1 so cheap? is there any catch? beside is it really second best next to u2311H..? i might considering if this is the best tn panel for bucks.

well the budget is not really an issue tho im not willing to spend over 1k for just a piece of panel.tongue.gif

one more thing. is tn panel really sux at view angle coz im buying for family use which we'd do alot of watching movies together. so if lets say 3 ppl sit infront about 1m distance from it, does person at sides alredi can exp the loss?
*
The LG is really good,at least the unit i've seen la.Definitely worth the money. However it's viewing angles aren't that good enough for your usage imo.
The U2311H fits your bill perfectly. brows.gif

why u23 is cheap but u24 is :!

U2311H use eIPS,U2410 use H-IPS,eIPS is lowest end IPS,H-IPS is mid end IPS.
The U2410 is also factory calibrated.

*checked dell site. they said discount ends tomorrow yawn.gif omg if i dont place order today itll be 800+ by then?
*
The discounts are always there.Besides, garage sales traders have better offers for the U2311H

manufacturer have acceptable defective pixel count, they can use the panel if there is 1-2 dead pixel (stuck pixel are unacceptable), unless the panel use for professional class lcd like u3011h

finally other manufacturer that release cheap ips/va panel lcd monitor, hope to see tn panel die in shame  biggrin.gif

Really hope it'll be sold here.
Since last year there BenQ and LG have launched multiple cheap VA and IPS panel LCDs [with WLED backlight no less] but none of them got here except for Dell and AOC... vmad.gif

Which option is better, a 24" full hd LCD TV these days or a monitor the likes of Viewsonic VX2450wmLED 23.6", LG E2350t 23"
Now the thing is, iirc TVs are made not for near sight viewing but i do know that TV has better viewing quality for watching movies/programs with thier motion engine and wat not, however, unknown quality for gaming
Also recently their prices have also come crashing down to be worthy comparisons
Ill be using the monitor/tv on a desktop PC for both media viewing and gaming purposes
*
Have you tried gaming on a LCD before? If you have then what's the exact model? The reason i'm asking is because older TN panel LCDs are as 'slow' as today's cheap IPS and VA variants found on TVs.Non-TN panel LCDs/TVs have better colours and viewing angles so it'll be more enjoyable if you watch movies/videos on it.
Anyway here's some LCDs that i personally recommend
LG W2343T-PF 23" RM469 [Quite accurate colours,good contrast ratio,cheap]
Dell U2311H 23" RM599 [eIPS panel so accurate and nicely saturated colours, large vertical viewing angles, fast for an IPS,good contrast ratio]

in your experience, what is the cheapest price for U3011?

now its RM3300... Is this a good deal?
*
I've never seen non-ARB units go below RM3000 before so i think that price is normal for it.

thx for reply, but are LCD TV's dot pixel much larger since they had further viewing distance intended

if it's resolution is 1920x1080 and it's size is 24" then nope.If it's something like a 37" then it'll be much larger

hey guys
any idea whats the best lcd now for a 21.5in form factor and best valued lcd now ?
my samsung lcd seems to go cuckoo flickering non stop every 10seconds
*
IMO the 'best' 21.5" LCD is the Dell ST2220T at RM759,it has a glossy coating [so higher contrast ratio] and it uses an IPS panel. It is also multitouch capable tongue.gif
For best value,it's the Dell U2311H,23" eIPS LCD,RM599,great colour reproduction, relatively fast, good contrast ratio.

Hi RacerX, how about this LG W2353TQ (16:9) or W2354TQ (16:10)? This 2 LCD monitor ok  mah?hmm.gif

Can't comment on those two since i can't find any reviews nor have i seen them before.

wah IPS panel only Rm599 now ?
what about the TN variant ? should be much cheaper right
*
Most TN 23" are around RM5XX and they aren't good in terms of colours and viewing angles except for one model i've seen before namely the LG W2343T-PF at RM469,it's colours are relatively accurate and the contrast ratio is good.Viewing angles aren't bad but it's still TN so don't put your hopes too high.

Didn't notice any ghosting with it.I doubt most people can too smile.gif
You can also ask other forumers about it,there's quite a number of U2311H users here.

*
there's the HP ZR24W,it's around RM1299 at HP's website,or you can get IPS/VA panel TVs [they aren't calibrated for accuracy though most of the time, and their aspect ratio is 16:9]

I am looking at 2311H and ST2420L

is the 24" a good buy?
because the price is almost same, its just 23" vs 24".
*
If you want quality,go with the U2311H,if you want size go with the ST2420L.But seriously though, since the size difference is just one inch imo go with the U2311H instead.

Yes true, same like me.

Is it worth to buy 3D monitor for now, just to watch 3D Movie, because 3D monitor is expensive, 23' is around 1.4K++, and also need 3D glass beside monitor alone, not to mention 120Hz capability
*
How many Blu Ray titles are in 3d exactly?Plus are you willing to shell out for those discs?

possible to get a lcd monitor for rm 400 and below , preferbably support HD ( or have hdmi slot) and no acer pls
*
Why do you need HDMI exactly? For console?
Even DVI has has HDCP support so you can play protected contents on Blu Rays and such, you just need a HDMI to DVI converter. Also, there's a few of non Acer LCDs below RM400 that can do this such as LG E2050T,Samsung E2020X etc etc.

very thanks for your suggestions.  notworthy.gif

Why do you need HDMI exactly?
Anyway, the Dell U2311H is highly recommended,it's usually RM599 from the garage sales section
There's also the LG W2343T-PF ,it's RM469 from Czone. It's not as good as the U2311H but not bad either.
Both don't have HDMI.
