This should be the correct way of doing..

QUOTE(yoyoman @ Nov 27 2010, 01:30 AM)
like this mate
hf(x)=x^2+3x+1
h is x actually

become

h(x)-2=x^2+3x+1
h(x)=x^2+3x+3

Wallah easy smile.gif
*
Lol this is wrong. If you're doing that way, by subbing in f(x) in directly, the correct working should be h(x-2) = x^2+3x+1 but not h(x)-2=x^2+3x+1 because f(x) represents (x-2) not (x)-2. Note that h is a function, that maps (x-2) to x^2+3x+1.

The answer given by the answer scheme is wrong. It should be h(x)=x^2+7x+11
Refer to 556611's working for the correct solution.

but h is outside... so h is the function and f(x) is the the variable right?
i got the exact same way. where did u get the question from ?
*
lol i did that question for like 6 times and i can't find my error.
This question is from Perak trial..=)
But I feel that the skema has a few mistakes...

help me this..  Find the range of values of x that satisfy both inequalities 2x^2-4x-3 ≥ x and  -2<x-1<4.

i got a weird answer too
-1<x≤-1/2 3≤x<5

Agreed especially in paper 2 question 2b) and 12d)

they differentiate wrongly for 2b) and the method for 12)d is wrong

Can you all tell me how you memorise the procedure for all the science's subjects paper 3? Or is there any spotted topics so that you all focus on those spotted only?

Don't memorise the procedures. They only cost you 3 marks at most.

For every experiment, you'll get free marks for aim, variables, materials, apparatus, tabulation and analysing..cause you can find them in the question

and you're allowed to create your own experiment or procedure as long as it is acceptable

For physics, i usually put the appratus is set up
As shown in the figur above. Then i put how to control the manipulated and reaponding. Bammm 3 marks

No. Parallel vectors may or may not have the same magnitude. If vectors are parallel, one of the vectors is the scalar multiple of the other vector. If vector a is parallel to vector b, a//b therefore a=kb with k as a scalar. If a = 3b, therefore a//b with the same direction.

QUOTE(bryanyeo @ Nov 26 2010, 11:29 PM)
magnitude not the same. but vector 1 equals to a constant times vector 2.

So if I let k = constant, vector 1 = P , vector 2 = Q,
P = kQ

But we must know chemistry procedure very well cuz in Paper 2 Section C they will ask for it.

For Paper 3, they are some of the apparatus given, but actually there are more than that. So if we just copy from there do we get full mark for apparatus?

actually don't have to memorize apparatus. you just need to roughly know the experiment.

like ticker tape experiment, you need ticker timer, ruler, wooden block, trolley etc. just imagine the experiment and derive your apparatus from there.
