Qiw, your FPV video is interesting. I am so tempted to go FPV evey time I see your video. Hehehe, too bad lah the cost of starting FPV is not affordable to me sad.gif
*
ok ... costs goes like this
u will need a video transmitter & receiver & camera & a screen to see the transmitted video/image
u can use your quad like me .. or plane like me oso .. hahahahaa

for the video transmitter (vtx) + video receiver (vrx) + camera
u can go for cheap HBK set to start with .. around usd50
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/_...PAL_420TVL.html
this will get u 1-2km .. prolly more depending on conditions

as for viewing ..
u can get stuff listed here .. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/u...?idCategory=539
or u can use a car LCD screen powered by 3S lipo (cheaper but much less immersive)
or if u really want it CHEAP .. use old 14inch TV from the house .. hahahaha

other things u may want in the future .. ON SCREEN DISPLAY (OSD) to show u status/info/gps position

another video for u guys .. main point is to have FUN !!!

David, it depends, if we talking about the complete FPV system like this, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/_...ncl_Tx_Rx_.html

it cost USD 300 excluding shipping.

Qiw, isn't it the 900MHz has a lot of interference? I prefer to FPV with a goggle, more realistic.
The one I have mentioned above is that good enough for the video quality? But it is only 100mW.
*
u will still need to buy camera ...
but 5.8 100mW with stock antennas ... u are prolly looking at around 100m or so range
5.8ghz is not an easy thing to deal with from my experience

900mhz is much easier to set up
so far all frequencies will have issues ... it just depends on how much issues and interference
it oso depends on how u set things up >> lots of reading required

how about GoPro? is it almost same price as FPV? i saw it at mudah the price around rm1k plus...almost the same as the complete FPV system.
*
the GoPro HERO is just a HD camera that records and has "live" video out to feed to your vtx

again .. i will mention
do not spend too much on the ESKY LAMA
it is a good thing to learn orientation with ... nothing else
and it will never handle wind well ... no matter what u mod
it is good as a starter and to have fun with .... having fun is most important la of coz .. hahahaha

speaking of ESKY LAMA ... i have a fren who has an ESKY LAMA fully modded to EXTREME LAMA ... he might wanna sell ... i ask him if any of u guys interested la ... hehehe

KDS TAROT FLASHER etc etc .. are just the ALIGN copycats
so most of their parts are interchangeable ..

those 450 flies much faster and responsive compared to the 911
not to mention the damage it can cause .. hehehe

the nature of the 450 and the 911 are completely different
with the 911 .. u need to hold the elevator forward to keep moving forward
with the 450 .. if u keep holding the elevator forward the heli will do a forward flip

u have to constantly correct or control the movements of a 450 ..
the 911 u can let go handsfree .. heheheehe

quality and performance is one thing ... price is another thing
align 450 sports is around 1.2k ... the pro around 1.4k
how much is the KDS ?

dont forget u will need to buy charger + batteries ... and the most important part >>> a proper RC radio
add all those into the cost ... allocate some for repairs/spare parts as well

use the 911 to learn your orientation properly (sides in .. nose in) and u will have minimal problems with the 450
ie. u can fly the 911 anyway u like .. under the table .. over the fan .. landing on plate etc etc .. without too much trouble

dont forget ... crashing the 450 is NEVER FORGIVING .. hehehe

the main thing to look out for are the electronics used in those 450 (or bigger) helis
gyro especially .. a good gyro makes a world of difference

For v911 isit necessary to adjust the servo to 90degrees so tht the swash plate is levelled?
*
most of the time (at least 5 thru me already for friends) i found it quite acceptable ...
just some trim on the radio/transmitter required and it will fly handsfree

u can never get perfect stationary laa .. especially for that price
as long as it stays within 1-2ft radius considered ok already .. hehehehe

just trim it a bit and fly the bugger .. dont be too fussy about minor stuff
most important thing is to FLY and have FUN !!!

some ppl mod their car nice nice perfect with super spoilers and giant exhaust and lots of turbo stickers .. but drive like going to pasar malam
no point right ?? hahahaahahahaaa

ALL HELIS WILL SUFFER FROM VIBRATION !!!
unless your heli does not use a GYRO ... GYROS are affected by vibrations

simple thing to try with this 911 if u have vibrations ..
get some packing tape (those transparent tape) .. if very bad vibration cut a bigger piece around 10x10mm and stick it underneath one of the main blades
if vibration increases ... remove tape and stick it on the other side
then play with the size of the piece of tape until vibrations are up to your satisfaction

as for the tail motor that stopped working .. u can get the tail motor of the ALIGN TREX 100 and use that as replacement .. rm15
b4 u replace .. check that the wires did not break off .. if broken then solder back only

how about for my v911, it can hover, but it does not hover statically at one place, it hover in a rotation movement... why is that???
*
that is called the TOILET BOWL EFFECT ... just like the water going in circles in toilet bowl or sink
its a natural effect of most fixed pitch helis
the bigger the heli the less prone u are to it
to MINIMISE it ... try to cut out as much of the vibration as possible
i have balanced my blades and flybar the best i can .. my 911 has very minimal TBE and can almost hover in a spot

as for heli trimmings ...
the 911 has a tail dependent on motor >> dependent on power of battery
when battery drains .. the power distribution between front and back motor may differ compared to when it is full so u may experience minor drift towards the end of battery
but dont play until the battery drain kow kow coz u will kill the lipo ... try to time your flights so that 3.7v or more remains after your flight

nothing is unbreakable !!!
just that the 911 will survive most of the crashes better than most helis
weak spots are usually the exposed wires at the tail motor .. it is highly possible that u only broke the wires not the motor itself

if u guys going for collective pitch ..
my take is .. DO NOT GO FOR BELT CP .. hehehehe
any trex clone will be fine if u wanna cut costs ... be aware that u will have to buy your own radio and receiver should u choose to go down the CP road (except for BCP)
so choose a radio that will not limit u when u get more advance in this flying hobby .. hehehehe

to build a trex450 clone is aprx rm500-600 based on budget electronics
then u can get a decent 2nd hand radio set with receiver for around rm400
u will have to set aside some budget for batteries and charger and spare parts ..
thats about it ...
make sure u spend a lot of time on the simulator b4 u even attempt to take off in the 450 .. otherwise its crash straightaway and repair time

the 911 radio prolly cannot be used with any other models .. except those that come from the same factory as 911 .. hehehehe

the trex250 handles wind very well .. if u can control it that is
