if that penalti un-call by the ref is fate's way of repaying that 3 red cards in China, i accept it with open arms...
we are still breathing....

All hope is not lost, but we need to depend on Indonesia not letting Thailand win when they meet each other, and we beat Laos. Can't see Indonesia losing to Laos, so goal difference shouldnt be too much of a problem. We can still qualify as runners up with 4 points, providing Indonesia don't lose any of their next 2 matches.
that sums it... we just need Indonesia to not lose for the next 2 matches.. judging by Thailands performance today, i dont think that is too hard..
we are lucky we will not be in position to use goal difference.. just wajib finish off our next job with Laos..

fahmi is d motm for me.very confident with d ball.ill give credit to muslim as well.good defending by him.
Now hope for win against laos and indon beat thai.but im afraid if indon booked their place early, they'll rest sum of their players and got beaten instead.
they will get the wrath of Gelora Bung Karno if they do that... In ASEAN, there are no match vs Thailand that can be taken lightly whateva the condition is..
Good Luck..
apa bro cakap tu sangat accurate... skill player laos tidak boleh dipandang enteng..
tapi rasanya Malaysia ada moral advantage... Laos mesti physically dan mentally exausted selepas 2 match vs Thailand dan indonesia.
malaysia pon sama.. tapi selepas seri 0-0 moral lebih on the way up.. walhal Laos has to pick themselve after a 6-0 drubbing..
i saw laos striker tak teralu bagus. but they're dangerous in far shooting.striker malaysia safee still better i think.
the coordination in lapangan tengah is slow playing.
saya yakin malaysia still bisa tuk menang versus Laos.
lets just say, the script on tuesday is a Malaysia and an Indonesian win.. let there be no suprise now..

Ape firasat bro pasal pemain kedua Indo?
kalau setakat Gonzalez tukar dengan Bambang saya rasa still ok..
ketiga2 sub yang masuk kedua2 match ni pon ok...
harap Irfan dan Okto stay main..

Laos? Remind me of 1997 sea game ...
Added on December 4, 2010, 11:48 pm So this a vast improvement?
the ability still the same.. but we improved in term of tactical, compact and resilience..
if anything its the thais that become worse..
Laos on the other hand has improved a lot...never seen a football third world country improved soo much..another country beside that is India's peformance in the Asian Games..

this edition of suzuki cup really have no respect whatsoever to the word 'script'.
Vietnam... hot favourite.. fresh from a 7-1 win just the other day, is now facing a real treat of early elimination..
Philipines.. needing to go through qualifiers to earn a spot as a 'goal differecce' factor in group B.. is now odds on to finish at top of it..
who could have known...Philipines FA must be scrambling to prepare a stadium that can be use for football for the home leg of the semifinal as we speak..
i really2 hope we continue the trend and knock out 'King of Asean football' Thailand on Tuesday.. with the help of "brotherly love' from the indonesia of course...
huhu

It slipped my mind that the semi-final, which will be played over 2 legs is at the respective country's stadium and NOT at the host countries of the tournament. I'm so gonna be at Bkt. Jalil if Malaysia qualifies next Tuesday.
yeah.. we'd really fancy our chances vs the Philipines IF we do...
but different to Thailand, Singapore, Pilipines and Vietnam... our luck is not totally in our hands..
Indonesia lost semi final and we won the Cup because we meeting other team in the final
That's the scrip just like Sea Games
there are another script that has happens before...
Both Indo and Thailand defending their opponents goals from own goals because the winner will top the group and will meet Vietnam in the semis...
i dont think it will be repeated to that degree as situation now is different .. but u cant stop from wondering what is the level of motivation the indo will have when playing against the thais on tuesday. it is not above their head to do wacky things like losing on purpose..
the have to decide what is better for their interest :-
1) Letting Thailand go through and become a possible opponent in the final. 2) Try their best to oust Thailand from ASEAN football throne and give Malaysia/Laos a chance to go through and with the likes of the Philipines, become candidates to meet them in the final...

then i'm going to prepare myself mentally for tomorrow by thinking that Indonesia will not play to their true strength as they do not have the needs to risk their squad with injuries and suspensions, hence Thailand will beat them and end our hope of progressing to the next round in this AFF Cup. i'd like to think it'll hurt less if i'm already have that kind of thinking before it happens
and, it's not like our game against Laos is a straightforward thing also. based on both team performances so far in this competition, tomorrow match looks set to be a very competitive; what's more with all 3 teams still can get the 2nd position if results go their way. but nonetheless, i will be very disappointed if we fail to beat Laos tomorrow
thats the correct frame of mind to be. Our team's resonsibility is only to beat Laos tomorrow. Wether we qualify or not defend on fate.

i rather have a team of born and bred Malaysians playing for their country even if that means not winning any trophies (providing they are dedicated la), rather than a squad of foreigners lifting the trophies, but do not reflect the real component of the country at all. Our countries arent made up of people of south america, africa and european descent. Our national team is not also a place to hire foreign "workers" to do the job for us.
but our people already proudly pleadging allegience to foreign football players, club and countries. To these people, the concept of staying true to the team that have their 'blood' eventhough not winning any thropies, is foreign to them. Our team must start winning first, before they will even consider supporting them. We might as well go ahead and adopt foreign players to fill that lust.
while we still discussing about it, Philipines, Indonesia and Singapore already benifiting on it. I'd say, if we can find a good candidate, just go ahead. Import players who already playing here for more than 5 years and have their child born and bred here is already Malaysian to me.

i am being honest, i was one of those who disregard the national team when i was a kid, saying the team is rubbish without even watching any of the games and at the same time, supports Man Utd. But as time goes on, i start to appreciate what it means to support your own country, and is still learning. True, almost everyone who watches football have foreign team and country that they supported. But i think one of the reason is because Malaysia national team wasnt in those tournaments, so they are finding alternatives. Lets put it this way, if Malaysia were to qualify for World Cup, regardless of how shitty the team is, im pretty sure more people will support Malaysia. It's just like sporting events like Olympic, Commonwealths...While majority of the population doesnt watch events like equestrians, or squash, but if Malaysia is in it, they will support the team, no matter finishing in the first round, or actually winning the gold medal. Heck, even Cardiff City gets quite a fanbase in Malaysia recently because it is owned by Malaysians.
I dont think "to win and getting local support" is the right reason to allow foreign players into our national team. it's like a last resort action to me, where the country and FAM has given up on local products to even need to think of outsiders.
Maybe if u say by bringing in foreigners it will lead to healthy competition to local lads and they will step up their performance, and can benefit from foreign experience, then maybe that is an acceptable reason. But im afraid FAM might overuse this "foreign experience" thing to straight away play for the country instead of getting locals to learn from them. theres definitely a for and against reasoning for this issue innit? very nice to discuss
For me, this action is not a last resort. More like a catalyst.
My problem is, our football is in the doldrums because we are in a frustrating spiral of chicken-and-egg situation where the public says they will only give moral and commercial support when the state of our football improve at an desirable rate while the football admistrators cannot apply proper improvement action at an desirable rate without encouraging moral and commercial support from the public.
this spiral started at the height of match-fixing scandal in the 90's when a whole generation of talented footballers and overflowing moral and commerical support from the public vanished overnight.
With the help of skill import players, our national team will become competetive again and eyes and heart will open up. This feel good factor will translate into moral and commecial support flowing into local football industry. Young kids will idolize local players and will train hard to become one themselves, again...
thats is exagerating a bit, but it is the direction how i want it to go..
if import players taking up playing space for our younglings to grow in the league, they might as well play for our national team.
P/s- i also once started my passion for football through a foreign team. But in time, i started questioning the reason why i keep supporting them unconditionally. i needed more meaning to do it. thats when i decide to go back to my roots and find passion to support the real team that represent me is more..real. The struggle of doing it is tremendous but at the same time addictive. thats why here i am doing as much as i can.
