i wonder y my iphone4 tethering will disconnect and appear "no internet access" after using few minutes only??...>< previously my 3gs not facing this kind of issue.....

is that my iPhone 4 issue or DiGi 3G line issue?

Is there anyone face the same thing or something similar?

Just came back from Digi Solaris. No stock there.

Anyway, a few answers.

Those looking to replace their faulty iPhones, you will not get a brand new in-the-box unit. You will get a replacement unit. However I'm told this replacement unit is actually a brand new unit, only difference being it does not come in a fancy box with cables/accessories. It is not a refurbished or repaired set. If this is true I'm absolutely fine with it.

On the can't make outgoing calls problem, the solution is indeed as what I found out- go to settings > phone > show my caller ID. Staff told me this affects a portion of iPhones, and is an iPhone problem.

He also told me when you turn on cellular data and 3G, you have to wait for a minute or two before you are actually connected to the internet. He says this is true for all iPhones/Digi users. If you dont encounter this, please tell us, because I find this quite annoying.

I also found out my screen is actually slightly yellowish. Warm. Actually I might prefer the warmer tone compared to the cold blue/white tone. Less glaring and less strain on the eyes I think. But I'm probably fine with either.

Oh and btw, does anyone have the Apple iPhone support email address? I checked their site, and apparently email support is for iPhoto and some other shit, not iPhones.

I'm planning to get iP4 offer from DiGi.

Just wondering what are the procedures since I'm currently on Maxis. Can I get the phone on the spot? Or, I need to wait for the migration first.. Thanks in advance!

sometimes i encounter that too, says 'Can't turn on cellular data' or something.

why turn off 3G? to save battery; sometimes if at home and is already connected to internet via laptop, why need the 3G for? smile.gif

Digi specialists at the The Mines makes their own plan n contract terms LOL LOL! sure fakap. makes me happy for awhile, but then turn off..

this is what they offer.

PLAN A = Same like Digi plan. But I need to pay RM58 x 24 in advance.. so end up the total to get iphone as they show is RM36xx. Cannot terminated line although pay advance RM58 x 24 months LOL!

Currently they don't have stock for PLAN A, need to wait 5 months to get stock.

==

PLAN B = They make their own. Buy phone at Rm2899 .. monthly they charge RM68 but no contract. They can get u the iphone immediately. and also show me 1 current stock on the table for this plan.

==

So... how weird is digi centre and specialist.. arent' they suppose to be the same? is this how the business go on... charge more for people who desperately want the phone...

One reason I'm not happy with DiGi's iPhone plans is that they all come in 2 year contracts.

Why can't they have a 1 year plan and price the phone just RM150-RM200 more expensive?

Comparing with their nearest competitor which offers 1 year contracts, they are much cheaper and only get tied for 1 year.

Come to think of it, Digi iPhone plans require you to pay upfront RM2600 for the phone with 6 months included, and then getting tied for 2 years. Long run it's just more expensive.

The minimum entry plan for their competitor requires a RM108 plan(RM50 + RM58 data plan combo).
You pay no more than RM2k to get the phone.

Digi's smart plan is RM68 but don't forget you still make calls so add up it might reach close to RM100 as well monthly.But remember it's 2 years tied down contract.

Correct me if i'm wrong.I'm just giving a consumer point of view.

Choice always on our consumer side, but we must admit that DiGi offer unlimited data plan which other can't compete. This already a sale point for DiGi, for the long run DiGi in fact more cheaper.

DIGI have to get their replacement from Sg. It is unlikely you will get as brand new set. Apple is supposed to maintain a pool of refurbished set for "1 to 1" exchange, like the case of 3GS now. If apple were to give a new set everytime, in the end they will end up with a lot of refurbished set. We have seen a number or refurbished MacBook, iMac and even iPod on sale at Apple Sg online store, but never for iPhone.

Yeah I was told the stock comes in from singapore, but the staff there told me the replacement unit is brand new. Maybe Apple takes apart the returned units and reassembles them... that I don't know. Look at the link given by 8xclamation:

QUOTE
# DiGi will honour a one to one exchange of all iPhones purchased from DiGi provided it is within the limited warranty coverage period and meets the Apple warranty policy. In compliance with Apple's iPhone warranty policy stated on http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/iphone, DiGi will accept the faulty iPhone and provide a replacement iPhone.
# The replacement iPhone is a brand new unit supplied by Apple to DiGi for purposes of warranty replacements. The replacement iPhone will not be provided with any packaging or accessories. In accordance with instructions provided by Apple, DiGi assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage.

They cant just renege on the terms and conditions like that.
