How do get hold of the tel number for the digi centres? My iPhone is faulty and I'm waiting for a replacement but I doubt the digi rep at BTS actually reserved a phone for me, so I have to call them up everyday to ask if there's stock. Thinking of calling up Digi Solaris but I cant find their number.

Oh OK thanks. Btw where in the Apple website does it say the yellow screen is a form of manufacturing variance and therefore within accepted standards? What if we refuse to accept a yellow unit and Digi won't budge?

Does anyone know if the Digi centre in BTS had any iPhone 4 16GB stock within the last 5 days? I went on Sunday to replace my problematic phone, and was told there was no stock. I asked the rep there to reserve a unit for me, and he told me to call him back everyday to ask if there was stock. I called him everyday since tuesday, and everyday it was the same answer "no stock today". It wouldn't surprise me if there was indeed stock but they gave priority to new customers and left us poor souls with broken iPhones cold.

most, if not all replacement stocks are refurbished set. new stock and refurbished stock are different thing. maybe they need to send back to Sg to claim replacement but it shouldn't take more than a week to do so.
*
Is it within our rights to demand for a new unit? The Digi CSR I spoke to says I can have a 1-for-1 exchange, and he also said most of the new stock that comes in will be used to replace faulty phones. That implies I will be getting a new unit right?

Just got my iPhone =D
Solaris there got lots of stock. Good service.

Solaris has lots of stock? I'll go tomorrow then to do a one-for-one exchange for my faulty phone. I bought mine from times square, but it's alright to go to another Digi centre to claim warranty right?

is thr any stock at time square?
*
I have the number of a Digi rep there and have been calling him for the past 4 days asking for stock availability for my iPhone replacement. Everyday the answer is the same- no stock. Of course maybe there is stock but they're keeping it for new customers. Or maybe he means refurbished replacement units are not in stock. But anyway if you decide to go I suggest reaching there at 9.30am.

Just came back from Digi Solaris. No stock there.

Anyway, a few answers.

Those looking to replace their faulty iPhones, you will not get a brand new in-the-box unit. You will get a replacement unit. However I'm told this replacement unit is actually a brand new unit, only difference being it does not come in a fancy box with cables/accessories. It is not a refurbished or repaired set. If this is true I'm absolutely fine with it.

On the can't make outgoing calls problem, the solution is indeed as what I found out- go to settings > phone > show my caller ID. Staff told me this affects a portion of iPhones, and is an iPhone problem.

He also told me when you turn on cellular data and 3G, you have to wait for a minute or two before you are actually connected to the internet. He says this is true for all iPhones/Digi users. If you dont encounter this, please tell us, because I find this quite annoying.

I also found out my screen is actually slightly yellowish. Warm. Actually I might prefer the warmer tone compared to the cold blue/white tone. Less glaring and less strain on the eyes I think. But I'm probably fine with either.

Oh and btw, does anyone have the Apple iPhone support email address? I checked their site, and apparently email support is for iPhoto and some other shit, not iPhones.

So did you get to change your phone with their SEED stock? Same case with me last time for my wife's 3GS.
*
Nope there is no stock for iPhones, be it new or replacement units.

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Nov 21 2010, 07:48 PM)
DIGI have to get their replacement from Sg. It is unlikely you will get as brand new set. Apple is supposed to maintain a pool of refurbished set for "1 to 1" exchange, like the case of 3GS now. If apple were to give a new set everytime, in the end they will end up with a lot of refurbished set. We have seen a number or refurbished MacBook, iMac and even iPod on sale at Apple Sg online store, but never for iPhone.
*
Yeah I was told the stock comes in from singapore, but the staff there told me the replacement unit is brand new. Maybe Apple takes apart the returned units and reassembles them... that I don't know. Look at the link given by 8xclamation:

QUOTE
# DiGi will honour a one to one exchange of all iPhones purchased from DiGi provided it is within the limited warranty coverage period and meets the Apple warranty policy. In compliance with Apple's iPhone warranty policy stated on http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/iphone, DiGi will accept the faulty iPhone and provide a replacement iPhone.
# The replacement iPhone is a brand new unit supplied by Apple to DiGi for purposes of warranty replacements. The replacement iPhone will not be provided with any packaging or accessories. In accordance with instructions provided by Apple, DiGi assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage.

They cant just renege on the terms and conditions like that.

Very helpful Digi staff at Solaris. Will entertain every question you throw at them with a smiley face. Clap Clap Clap !! thumbup.gif

I'm going to request for a rebate for my first month's bill because I've had to go to various Digi centres 6 times in order to

(1) Change my faulty sim card
(2) Change my faulty phone

And I have yet to change the phone. Bloody Digi dont list down the telephone numbers for the Digi centres, and the staff there refuse to call me when there is stock as well. Ridiculous.
