Are the Singapore import foreign player like Ronaldo, Beckham or Lampard standard.... if yes,  i will be very very pround of our soccer team at least only lose in penalty kick...

of course no la. if they are of those standards, wud they even willing to play for sum1 elses country when they can play for their own. but we do expect singapore to perform at more higher level after this policy of taking foreign players. the policy was meant to elevate them to another notch. but seeing the match, not much difference. better use local product. at least can be proud, it is their own ppl that did it. the foreign players also not much diff than their locals.. so pay more but result still same. smile.gif

on another note, sloppy match. from both sides but sgpore might have been better at it. dunno if it is bcos of the pitch (wet n all that). a heartbreak for myself not to be able to go to std n give my support. i thot hairuddin wud b a good penalty taker. takkan another 7 mins pn x bole tahan.. doh.gif

concede pun another similar goal to the goal that they scored in the 1st semi. adoi.. but this time, no complaints bout it. like the saying goes; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Singapore isn't a strong team? Why we still can win over them? Why we cant hold 1-0 from start to the end, stop saying bcoz no luck, isnt a reason, they got import players isn't a reason again.
If bcoz they got 3 import player inside their team, thats why we lost that game,  then we  better only always play with those Asean only like Laos, Indonesia, Thailand. Philippines, Brunei and else....  doh.gif

for once in a blue moon, i actually did watched the match on astro... laugh.gif

well i hav to say i'm disappointed - yet again. the performance was poor for me, although the Singaporeans were not really much better.

our skipper (sorry i dont know his name, as i'm literally off abt our national team tongue.gif ) played a decent game at the back. i guess if not of him we wouldn't b able to hold it into extra time.

They need confidence and experience. I don't know why the players can't keep the ball at their feet and pass the ball properly to their teammates. They should improve on their ball control and short passes.

foreigners are still foreigners, and the intention is to improve and strengthen the team. if not then why they needed to import those players. not enough talents in Singapore perhaps? not the classic Lions that we used to see with Fandi Ahmad, Samad Alapitchay, V. Sundramoorthy etc. and yes, they were without foreigners and still had a great team that time.

i thought with those 'awang import' they would trash us 3 or 4 goals, but ended up winning through penalties. didn't say we played a great game, but Singapore with their imports weren't that good either. for us, nothing to be ashamed.

only 1 thing to be ashamed...from 22.4 mil people of malaysia..let say 34% is adult enough to play football...1.2% from those is profesional players playing in local league ( excluding shaun maloney and etc ) ....we manage to come out with 22 representatives ( including subs ) and considered the 22 BEST PLAYERS IN MALAYSIAN FOOTBALL who din know how to keep the ball properly..how to pass the ball effectively..and how to play consistently plus we din have enough pace and stamina.. shocking.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif ..

foriegners will be outthere..let them keep theirs...the fact we din find the solution for the current matter, still we are having no answer for the lowest ranking in asian region ( cut the laos out )..and still and patheticly yet, we are still the wounded tiger here.. yawn.gif

are Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia etc. much much better when it comes to that either? admit that there're still many weaknesses that should be fixed. but what im proud about the team is that they gave everything in that match although that wasnt good enough to send them through.

yes some of them didnt pass properly, didnt shoot accurately, but at least they did defend their line well. they did create chances and they did attack Singapore. Syamsuri's world class save and solid defence by Khaironnisam and Norhafiz Zamani proved that the right local talents still exist here in Malaysia, although im sure not all 22mil Malaysians are capable of that.

have the right mentality, continue training and working hard, improve their game and always keep their heads down.

I think the malaysians has a lot to work on physically, I watched the game against the chinese in the asian games.

Skillwise, not far off. But speed, strength, and height/size, malaysians are far far behind. A knock from the chinese and they're down. Even if they get through the defence, the chinese will catch up in no time. How are they to compete with the europeans?

So I suggest 2 solutions.1 go to the gym more often. 2 Pick players with speed OR Size and then train them up skillwise.

if ...i say IF malaysia could hire a good scout, coaching and manager regiment, can we make it in future? i mean at least qualify for olympic or asia cup..we are more like columbian team now..look at them, once they were so strong even can fight with brazil equally..now what happen? im not that amazed as i did once ...maybe several factors can be considered

1. Lack of Skill players ( dribbling,passing,speed ) shakehead.gif
2. Lack of fitness / stamina icon_question.gif
3. Did not have effective strategy icon_question.gif
4. Selection of Players sad.gif
5. Physical strength icon_question.gif
6. No influence player ( like late supermokh drool.gif )
7. undiscipline players / unprofessional behavior vmad.gif
8. poor morale
9. too much politic nod.gif
10. Inconsistence mad.gif
11. No identity cool2.gif
12. No CREATIVITY AT ALL. rclxub.gif
13. No real encouragment from fans whistling.gif
14. and the list goes... cool.gif doh.gif

well i do believe singapore is a good team when fandi ahmad and sundramoorthy time but now they depends much on foreign players which not even near to their legends standard.

i think we did good enough for last night game. lost a penalty is more to luck and i do believe we didn't much expose to a penalty scenario in front of opponent's fans. this will be a good experience for them.

we exposed too much for EPL and world class football. for me we still in amatuer level and need to work hard for world football. nothing we can do for player's physical (we're even smaller than west asian team)

need an improvement in passing and tactical. for current national team i suggest change the goalkeeper and strikers. tongue.gif
