QUOTE(kcng @ Dec 21 2006, 10:58 PM) can malaysia actually qualify for asia cup on merit and not because malaysia gets to host it? at the moment its not even possible.. giving luck to our team also i doubt they could make it. but let's c 1st coz half of the 'future' team are going to train at the hi performance center in london. hope they are not going there for makan angin only. there is a lot of things they cud learn.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 22 2006, 04:48 PM) It's really saddening to read headlines like "We shocked Myanmar!" when we used to beat the likes of Korea and Japan. Can someone remind me why we are training in England again since we play mostly in Asia where it's hot and humid? playing in msia onli hot n humid.. at other places (in asia also) they play at night where it can get cold. even in doha, the players are wearing long sleeve jerseys. i think msia were the onli team to wear long sleeves. but i agree to send players to london jz for climate reason is an unacceptable reason. but the chance to play with the locals or perhaps the local clubs (heck even msian students studying there.. n i might add a lot of them are good) is a good reason to send them there. that chance to play competetive soccer in a non-match environment is sumthing they shud b aiming for.. as ya'll know english soccer plays a physical game.. so at least they'd b learning to play against opponents with more apparent physical prowess they have little to learn from M-league or a couple of 'friendly' tours per year..

QUOTE Football: Negri fans want Hatem out
THE banners were up asking for Negri Sembilan coach Hatem Souisi's head but team manager Datuk Mohammad Haslah has refused to bow in to demands from players nor fans.
If anything, Haslah believes Hatem should be given time to build an ageing Negri team which has roped in several under-21 players.
Negri won the Super League title last year but are currently second from bottom.
On Saturday, Negri fell to their fourth defeat in six matches when Pahang beat them 1-0 at the Paroi Stadium in Seremban.
In the match against Pahang, Hatem fielded seven under-21 players and only retained two seniors with skipper Khairul Annuar Baharom sensationally dropped.
"I'm making a stand here. Hatem is the head coach and we don't give in to players' demand. The fans must understand that the previous team was together for almost four seasons, and were only successful last year," said Haslah.
"The team is filled with ageing players and we need to inject new blood into the squad. When this is done, it will take time to get results."
"There were senior players who could not accept the tough training. Sadly some players are not professional although they demand professional salaries. However, they play like amateurs.
"As a professional player, they should also keep themselves fit and know what they should eat and when to rest." Part of Hatem's job scope is organising junior development programmes so that we have a steady pool players for the team.
"To be fair, Hatem was never involved in the selection of the players. The players were already selected and Hatem was only appointed three weeks before the start of the league.
"So it's not his fault. Success does not come overnight. We know what we want from Hatem and I believe he is providing us with what we need."
Hatem was Malaysia's coach from 1995 to 2000 and was assistant to Philip Troussier while he was Qatar's coach in 2004-2005. http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/nst/Mon...icle/index_htmlanother reason (well, it's old actually. but still present) y msian players won't improve at least the management taking a stand. how long i dunno. how bout other states?

true though. was disappointing. passing was much to be desired. if it wasnt for the own goal, might have been a little bit closer. no urgency. the scoreline didnt reflect the true play. we didn dominate.
nvm, still hope for better performance nx time around
p/s: who can tell me when wud the semis starts?

yeah.. a deserved draw for both sides for the effort both put in. myanmar certainly had the best of chances.. good decision by norizan to put in nanthakumar in the 2nd half. tidying things up.. but the wingers shud have been better. to play in that kind of formation, wingers need to be good n send good balls in. hardi was good in patches but often got drift out of position to the right side of the field. i wasnt impressed with both eddy n khyreel on the right. now msia need to do the hard way by beating the Thais.. sigh

QUOTE(kcng @ Jan 15 2007, 09:26 AM) malaysia must win against the thais.... no matter wat, or else, tapao... as alwez.. our team chooses the hard way to qualify... hopefully myanmar wont win with the same margin or bigger than us. make our job a bit more easier. but then again, defence need to improve to challenge the fast attacking Thais

anxious giler tadi.. last few minutes i knew phillipines was still holding on to the draw. they have sumthing to prove. altho they're minnows, but theyre not whipping boys like laos. n thankfully for them, i get to go to bukit jalil before i set of to ausie. it was a good encounter n thais deservedly win altho msia were good at defence except the last chance of the 1st half. 2nd half was disastrous espc centrebacks zamani n khairunnisam.. x communicate, x commanding. n the goal, fauzi pulak yg kene challenge while those zamani watch the ball.. msia pn x byk creative player to give a fight. that's y msia wont win if the opponent score 1st. msia need to score an opportunist goal n defend that lead. again not impressed with eddy helmi's efforts on the left. khyril a bit better than myanmar game. nizaruddin was juz lumpy. for semis players i wud want to c more: safiq rahim (an AM. surprised didnt c him tonite), saramsak kram (add pace n takes pressure off hairuddin), kanu aka nanthakumar (pancit ke mamat ni? xlei last full game?), ronny harun (for LB.. since irwan out suspended) players i like to c less : eddy helmi (couldnt cut it as a winger in my books. a bit better in the thais game than myanmar's) & nizaruddin (he had his contribution but i'd like to c less of him. too lumpy. no pace. doesnt complement hairuddin players i hope i dun c anymore : rezal zambery

QUOTE(madstone @ Jan 17 2007, 01:20 AM) from what i see in the match between Malaysia & Thailand; the Malaysia team is totally out of formation no offside trap, no marking n playing without any system caca marba mcm rojak! Malaysia do has good chances BUT still need more improvement should play Nanthakumar in the 1st half, he's a cool player true. i think they were playing the traditional 4-4-2 system. but seems like adjusting to the formation from the planned tactics specifically for this tourney creates confusion. n also wingers are not exactly doing their job to uphold the tactics. eddy was poor. n when they try playing their previous system (4-2-3-1) it went a bit crazy as they are all scrambling to get their goals back. even hardi went crazy when he chased a lost cause str8 down the right hand side of the field (whilst being a left winger) n that left spaces for the Thai right winger to exploit irwan. wasnt surprised he got red carded as he was exposed clearly bcos player didnt follow with the tactics

QUOTE(theripper @ Jan 18 2007, 11:46 AM) according to the F.A Thailand website, the match will be played at Bkt Jalil stadium. refer here: http://www.thaifootball.com/tournaments/ti...ancup-2007.htmli also was assuming bukit jalil wud be the venue. i think this is the best especially if they want lots of ppl to come as it is convenient (near plus toll, kesas hiway n got lrt as well). but read in the star newspaper, they say it is going to b at shah alam.
