Overall the performance was good but then got caught ball watching and let Alam Shah sneak in to score the equalising goal.

But I hope they build on this performance and take the game to Singapore in the next match. I think Malaysia trying too many long shots. And some of the crosses are horrendous, the wingers and fullbacks need to work harder.

i was so ........... IMPRESSED with how Malaysia played. It's been a long time since i last went to watch any game at a stadium. (last was MyTeam at bukit jalil)... and now.. finally i see a rising HARIMAU.. we could've do better if we had better strikers but overall.. they really played a very confident game especially first half..

i hate the singapore big african defender.. almost all defenders are imports...

if we made it to final.. i will definitely buy Msian jersey tooo... not the 259 though..

overall, i am pleasantly surprised at how the team played tonite.was vr diff than previous game back in bangkok where all of them are playing long balls n looked lost. might be bcos of crowd factor or pitch vr dry back in bangkok. well for the first 15-20 mins i thot they never learned as they were aimlessly throwing long balls at the singapore defence (taking the example of pepatah cuba sampai jadi laugh.gif). then they changed their game n play more short passes along the midfield n started to use all four midfields plus the 2 fullbacks which i am equally impressed with 2nite.

for me, msian deserve the win 2nite. only jz a lapse of concentration saw them equalize. i hope they continue this run of good performance. they indeed live up to the expectation of thousands in the stadium to perform well. let's c if they can bring the same lvl of performance to sgpore (which wud b hard as 2nite sgpore clearly going for draw whereas they'll b gunning for a win back in their turf).

wanna jz hug norizan coz he had the guts to bring out the lumpy nizaruddin before half-time interval. clearly non-existent (might jz say the whole tournament except for his wondergoal against phillipines).

eddy surprised me. turn up a good performance 2nite. hope it wont b at msia stadium oni.

glad that cheat got sent off.

y din i c fadzli shaari playing? is he that bad?

p/s: still not hoping that high coz i noe they'd alwez let down when the need comes. but tstill hope they cud dish out commendable performance (fighting spirit espc) in 2nd leg. biggrin.gif

We only have the possesion and not the goals.... U guys can see the players have a lot of ball possession but then unable to convert it into chances.... Well, possession didnt won u a match but goals are.... sweat.gif

Hope the next coach of Malaysia can address an attacking solution... coz from my view, when attacking, the Malaysian midfielders were always far behind from the strikers and the striker cant do anything bout it.... shakehead.gif

yup definitely. but i think it is a good start. having possesion of the ball n limit chances for opponents. if not msia are so afraid of holding or passing the ball short. they din wanna take risk. it is as if they r marked by john terry or vidic or sumthin.they jz put the ball long. at least they can say they are not making any fault. so no 1 shud blame them. they play safe oni.

nway, a bit of gud news is that away goals rule dont count in this tourney. so they shud not pressure themself to get the 1st goals as early as possible. need to soak n the pressure n compose themselves as sgpore r coming at them.

dam, if not for the function this saturday, i'd definitely travel down to sgpore give support. kalah xpe, but at least not tamely like against thailand the other day.

O'RLY? I want to see YOUR varsity team go against the singaporean imports and how they fate.
IMO, that was once of the best performance of the Malaysian side by far in the tournament. We did see flashes of this in the Thai game, but sadly we fell to the same thing that lead to the Thai win. Non existance of understanding between our two center backs.
Malaysia should know that they cannot play long balls against the Singaporeans. Unlike the Thais (actually, unlike all the other asian teams), they have the tall imported defenders (and yet some ppl here laments that there are discrimination against the chinese in the malaysian national squad where the Singaporeans discriminates their own local). Nizarudin was hard working, but admit it, he has lost his touch, and it was a good move to sub him before half time. The only bad move that IMO norizan did was to sub Hardi when his left foot is what we needed most. Remember his freekick against the Chinese? he could have easily added that in the dying seconds along with his SUPERB goal (This I rate as the goal of the tournament).
The officials are Kayu, wood, or any other obcencity you want to think of. Two offsides were given in the first half when it was actually a defender's backpass means that what it was, AFC's officials just don't have the same quality as the UEFA or the Concacaf counterparts. Why waste time with the corner flag? That was stupid. Rules are rules, but with that much time left, just fricking ignore it. I remember a premiership match in midweek where a player kicked the corner flag after scoring a goal, and the match resumed as usual. that is profesionalism, which IMO AFC's official is lacking. Even our local referee is better.
It's hard for the second leg, but I have my hopes on this Malaysian side. They have the believe to win and who knows, without that stupid defender (afendi? I only know he got red) we have a better chance

Meluat jgn ler tgk. Untuk game2 sebelum ni tak tahu la tapi semlm punya game kira bagus gak. Team baru nak bangun balik dah terus cantas. Jgn expect tinggi sgt. With that kind of delaying time tactic from Singapore, any team will be frustrated and will effect their performance.

sure kah no away goal rule?then what if draw 2-2 the nx leg?play extra time? brows.gif

anyway this is the best p4mans i hv seen apart from the past 2-0 n 4-0 win over the causeway rivals.apart from attacking from the start n almost score in 20 seconds,we still lack the attacking n scoring edge.that crooked skrew goal is sumting out of ordinary n special. rclxms.gif i hope the europeans can learn this new scoring technique sooner n later. thumbup.gif defensively,we still tend 2 switch off which give sg a free goal 4 nothing.ardy fight so hard 4 one goal n yet still concede easy goal cheaply. doh.gif lets hope msia can perform like this in kallang. flex.gif oh m i thinking y sg hire a female physio in the team?is that y sg players tend 2 got injured easily more often so that she can...u no. brows.gif
