Ya lor, I was really scared that the Phillipines can score. But that's football. Great 4th goal tho, no doubt about that.

Luck plays an important part in football. but I doubt it's luck that Myanmar was held 0-0. For one, Phillipines was blasted 8 goals past them by Malaysia and Thais, thus they are really fired up not the be beaten again. and 2nd, Myanmar drew both of their first game that I think the players are stuck with that mentality of drawing when playing the philliphines. I mean yes they held the upper hand, but mostly their finishing does not look worthy of a goal that night. Only some flashes of brilliance, but you must made that some moment count, and they didn't.

11 goals...
That was against Laos. not something to go kiasu about. If they can beat Indon I would be scared, but they drew, which give us at least 80% chance of kicking their sorry a$$

O'RLY? I want to see YOUR varsity team go against the singaporean imports and how they fate.
IMO, that was once of the best performance of the Malaysian side by far in the tournament. We did see flashes of this in the Thai game, but sadly we fell to the same thing that lead to the Thai win. Non existance of understanding between our two center backs.
Malaysia should know that they cannot play long balls against the Singaporeans. Unlike the Thais (actually, unlike all the other asian teams), they have the tall imported defenders (and yet some ppl here laments that there are discrimination against the chinese in the malaysian national squad where the Singaporeans discriminates their own local). Nizarudin was hard working, but admit it, he has lost his touch, and it was a good move to sub him before half time. The only bad move that IMO norizan did was to sub Hardi when his left foot is what we needed most. Remember his freekick against the Chinese? he could have easily added that in the dying seconds along with his SUPERB goal (This I rate as the goal of the tournament).
The officials are Kayu, wood, or any other obcencity you want to think of. Two offsides were given in the first half when it was actually a defender's backpass means that what it was, AFC's officials just don't have the same quality as the UEFA or the Concacaf counterparts. Why waste time with the corner flag? That was stupid. Rules are rules, but with that much time left, just fricking ignore it. I remember a premiership match in midweek where a player kicked the corner flag after scoring a goal, and the match resumed as usual. that is profesionalism, which IMO AFC's official is lacking. Even our local referee is better.
It's hard for the second leg, but I have my hopes on this Malaysian side. They have the believe to win and who knows, without that stupid defender (afendi? I only know he got red) we have a better chance

Fluke or not, Hardi has a lethal left foot. Remember that freekick against China that nearly flew half the pitch into the goal. The keeper was so suprised he sat on the pitch wondering what hit him

i think Malaysia football squad should put more chinese players in their team..

Other than Liew Kit Kong, no other Chinese players looks worthy of a call up. Or do you have any other names?
Anyways, at least we still stick to local, and don't have players named Bennet or Precious in our line up

takdok kojo, hang pegi tak cakap kat aku arr hangPC2....

anyways, with Adi Iskandar out, we might have a good chance barraging their goal this saturday. The only worry is the lapse of concentration of our backline, and really, they should have marked Nor Alam Shah better. Better still, foul him untill he's too intimidated to score.

One thing I must say our player should improve physical and stamina. Skills is not alone, but team work and good physical also play important role.
I had to say, playing against Asean team, skill not so important. Why? Because the standard is low. Good physical and stamina will have the edge. Just run around and chase around opponents. Sure the opponents will lost way, because they just don't have the skill to do good passing and ball control.
Our team is bit lembik, if you compare with euro or african, they so fit and good stamina can run and chase around. If we don't have the skill, but we can train our physical and stamina to match opponents skills.

True when our 'Regional Defending Champion' consist of Aussies and Africans.....
Meh, I want Thailand to win the final. if not, malu losing to bunch of foreigners......

For me, the problem with malaysian football is not at the highest level, aka the FAM, but the grassroot. How many potentially good kids stopped playing because of family pressure to do good in schooling? personally, I have talked to a mother that banned his son from football and wants him to play badminton instead because "Kalau Menang dia dapat tanah, kalau menang bola, dapat apa??". This kind of mentality is what hampering our growth.
And the IMO the FIFA ranking is crappy. You need to play a certain amount of games to be counted in the FIFA ranks. German suffered during the pre World Cup period because they don't have to play qualifying thus went into the tournament ranked lower than the USA!! So for me, go HELL with the FIFA rankings. If we feel that we are better, than WE ARE better.

unfortunately, football is a team game, unlike badminton where 1 person can make a difference. Unless that new Uncle Sidek can father 11 boys and teach them all to be really godlike footballers, we need more, much more than 1 person.

..... cry.gif HEAR THE NEWS TODAY THAT OUR OLYMPIC TEAM ( U-21 ) LOST TO MALDIVES OLYMPIC TEAM , 1-0 AT KL STADIUM. THATS MAYBE JUST A FRIENDLY OR 'JUST A HICCUP" GAME BUT DONT U ALL FEEL  'MALU' ...WE SPENT MILLIONS FOR THE TEAM, TRAINING UNTIL AT RIO DE JANEIRO, BUT STILL LOSING TO A UNDEVELOPED COUNTRY. IMO WE WILL NEVER EVER QUALIFY FOR THE WORLD CUP IN 20 YEARS TO COME. ...ONLY QUALIFY AT 2ND STAGE QUALIFYING IS ALREADY A MAJOR SUCCESS  TO A SKUAD RIMAU.....PLEASE STOP DREAMING..... icon_question.gif  doh.gif

yes, and if we stop dreaming, we will never acheive anything. This is the mentality that is hindering our football. we lost, and ppl start blasting saying that we don't have anything and not good enough and start telling their friends about it, and the end result? less ppl playing football, and less talented ppl getting picked. ppl like these only talks and talks and talks, but they don't do anything for the development of football in the country. they say that they are football fans, but they never even go to a local match, instead drinking beer in front of telly watching EPL. Dey kici, want to compare them mmg cannot lor, but at least give sum support.
