QUOTE(CGLegacy @ Aug 31 2011, 09:12 PM) seriously, if you guys really like those kinda interface, I really recommend the basic linux maybe early RedHat or Mandrake or SUSE or want more challenge just use console and access yast2 via CLI The problem with a pure X-less tty environment is that the fonts are always rendered too big and ugly (imho), even at their smallest settings. With a bit of care, one can easily get a Debian or Arch install with X and a lightweight WM at around 30+mb (32bit) RAM and less than 1GB HDD space , provided you don't need wireless blobs or restricted gfx drivers. ...and if you really want a "challenge", screw package management and do a source based install (and lose your girlfriend/boyfriend and lots of sleep in the process). @Patent
Zai is correct. That is ncmpcpp, a front-end for mpd (music player daemon). |

You can have system-wide equalization with alsaequal. (or you can install pulse-audio, but I don't give a f*ck about that garbage... JACK ftw!!)
Debian (Testing & Sid) = http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords...d2-plugin-equal (use apt-get install) Arch = https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=27066 (use yaourt or equivalent) You'll need to modify your ~/.mpdconf to include something like this CODE audio_output { type "alsa" name "My ALSA EQ" device "plug:plugequal" # optional format "44100:16:2" # optional mixer_device "default" # optional mixer_control "Master" # optional mixer_index "0" # optional and also create an ~/.asoundrc and fill it with this; CODE ctl.equal { type equal; } pcm.plugequal { type equal; # Modify the line below if you don't # want to use sound card 0. slave.pcm "plug:dmix"; } # pcm.equal { # Or if you want the equalizer to be your # default soundcard uncomment the following # line and comment the above line. pcm.!default { type plug; slave.pcm plugequal; } to get it working. then, in terminal you can do; CODE alsamixer -D equal to access the equalizer. Easy-peasy-japaneasy~!! This post has been edited by G-17: Sep 2 2011, 10:37 AM |
