i wanna ask, when the end of the warrant lifetime, do we automatically get the cash?
As for the mother share case, will they post us a form or something to inform us to make the choice of converting to mother share? Or, our warrant will simply become toilet paper if we FORGOT its expiry date?

Thanks!! notworthy.gif

Uchi's price usually stable around <1.30. if got bullet, can enter. but what I dont like about this counter is that the divvy payment is reducing. dunno about upcoming divvy.. if improve, sign to go in

i'm quite sure for cash-settled CWs, they will pay u back in cash. but how the whole mechanism works im not that sure. For warrants, there are American / European style warrants, but warrants that are not exercised on expiry become worthless .

so better keep a good eye biggrin.gif

Uchi's price usually stable around <1.30. if got bullet, can enter. but what I dont like about this counter is that the divvy payment is reducing. dunno about upcoming divvy.. if improve, sign to go in
*
divvy reduce coz EPS reduced.. last year they paid almost 82% of net profit as divvy.. thats very generous imo..
and this year 1H EPS is already as good as last year's full year EPS.. so i believe divvy payout will be better..

maybe they'll declare a 4c divvy this qtr and 4c next qtr.. total to 8c.. 6.2% gross yield..

Something is better than nothing

Finance ministers from the G-20 will work next year on a system to assess the path of global current-account imbalances, German Chancellor Angela Merkel told reporters in Seoul, where she attended a summit of the leaders of the world’s largest developed and emerging economies. The G-20 are scheduled to release a joint statement later today.

A U.S. government official said the meeting also produced a consensus that exchange-rate changes are to happen gradually. The American official, speaking to reporters on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. was encouraged by progress on the Chinese currency. The International Monetary Fund can help referee the debate over lopsided trade flows, the official also said.

Petronas Chemicals Institutional IPO Priced At MYR5.20/Share - Source

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd. has priced the institutional portion of its initial share sale at MYR5.20, which is at the higher end of its guidance of between MYR4.50 and MYR5.20, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.

This means that Malaysia's biggest petrochemicals producer by volume will raise MYR12.9 billion ($4.17 billion), making it Southeast Asia's largest ever IPO, eclipsing that of Maxis Bhd. (6012.KU), which raised MYR11.2 billion last November.

"The institutional portion was priced at the top end of the range, MYR 5.20," the person said.

Petronas Chemicals is selling a total of 2.48 billion shares, 72% of which are new shares with 28% from parent Petroliam Nasional Bhd. Proceeds raised will be used to expand the business and for synergistic growth acquisitions.

Malaysian pension funds The Employees Provident Fund and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan--last month committed to taking up 18% of the IPO. Apart from the portion taken up by the pension funds, 37% will be offered to ethnic Malay investors, 33% will be for book building and 12% will be for retail investors.

Based on its enlarged share capital of 8 billion shares, Petronas Chemicals is expected to list with an initial market capitalization of up to MYR42 billion, putting it among the country's top five stocks.

Petronas Chemicals manufactures chemical compounds, fertilizers, industrial and specialty chemicals. It has an annual production capacity of 11 million metric tons and is Southeast Asia's largest producer by volume of methanol and ethylene glycol, chemicals widely used in antifreeze.

The company, which posted a net profit of MYR2.59 billion on revenue of MYR12.2 billion in the year ended March 31, is seeking to list Nov. 26 on the local stock exchange.

The bookrunners for the offer are CIMB, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley, while Citigroup Inc. © and UBS AG (UBS) are co-bookrunners.

Some stocks like Titan, Astro, Measat, Tanjong , Sunrise, Jerneh , Kulim, Timecom got gorenged up before the release of the actual news.

Even Panamy got gorenged before a good dividend.

So you happened to own some of these stocks, you are termed as a gorenger.

KUALA LUMPUR: MALAYAN BANKING BHD []’s earnings were RM1.028 billion in the first quarter ended Sept 30, 2010, up 16.6% from RM881.80 million a year ago.

It said on Friday, Nov 12 revenue rose to RM5 billion from RM4.56 billion. Earnings per share were 14.53 sen versus 12.46 sen.

Maybank said the net interest income increased by 9% or 146.9 million due to improvements in the group’s operations from higher net interest income margins in Malaysia arising from increases in the overnight policy rate and expansion of market in Indonesia.

It said income from Islamic Banking operations decreased by RM43.3 million or 11.3% to RM338.2 million due to higher provision for profit equalization reserves in the Islamic business but mitigated by increase in growth in assets which increased gross income in Islamic business.

KUALA LUMPUR: AMMB HOLDINGS BHD [] posted a strong set of earnings in the second quarter, with net profit at RM332.87 million, up 38.6% from RM240.15 million a year ago, boosted by an increase in interest income.

AMMB said 2Q pre-tax profit improved to RM981.4 million from RM691.1 million reported for the corresponding period last year. Gross loans and advances expanded to RM69.0 billion to register an annual growth of 8.3%. The growth was mainly attributed to financing of finance, insurance, real estate and business activities, education and health, residential PROPERTIES [], manufacturing and CONSTRUCTION [].

Financing for purchase of transport vehicles accounted for 34.3% of total loans, followed by loans for residential properties which accounted for 16.7% of total loans.

Greece situation was more severe than Irish one.

PIGS + Cisco profit warning + market has surged so much in recent weeks + rumour China is going to raise interest rate due to inflation running wild = current market correction excuse, take profit.

Petronas Chemicals Institutional IPO Priced At MYR5.20

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Malaysia's Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd. said Friday it has raised MYR12.8 billion ($4.14 billion) after pricing its institutional shares at the top end of the indicated range, making it the largest ever initial share sale in Southeast Asia.

The initial public offering, which is in line with Prime Minister Najib Razak's call to attract more overseas investments and to boost liquidity in the Malaysian capital markets, also eclipses the MYR11.2 billion raised by Malaysian mobile phone operator Maxis Bhd. (6012.KU) last November.

In a statement, Petronas Chemicals said the institutional offering attracted orders of approximately MYR92.6 billion, representing a subscription rate of more than 21 times.

The retail offering of 293 million shares attracted a subscription rate of 2.5 times, the company said. The retail price has been set at MYR5.04 per share, a 3% discount to the institutional price.

"We believe the strong support shown for Petronas Chemicals' IPO reflects its position as the leading petrochemicals producer in Southeast Asia," Chairman Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin said in the statement.

"The bookbuilding exercise has attracted significant interest from various types of investors globally," he added.

The heavy demand for the stock underscores the keen interest in emerging markets. Petronas Chemicals' sister company Malaysian Marine and Heavy Engineering Bhd., which was listed on the Malaysian bourse last month, drew in an oversubscription rate of more than 25 times for the institutional portion of its MYR2 billion IPO.

In that same month, AIA, the Asian life insurance arm of American International Group Inc., raised US$17.85 billion by pricing its Hong Kong IPO at the top end an indicated range.

Analysts and bankers said the strong interest in Petronas Chemicals isn't unexpected given its sheer size, robust earnings outlook, significant weightage on the index and strong parentage in state-owned oil corporation Petroliam Nasional Bhd.

Hwang-DBS Research in a report on Friday estimated Petronas Chemicals Group, when listed on the Malaysian bourse on Nov. 26, will be the fifth largest constituent of the benchmark index KLCI, ranked by full market capitalization, with a relative weight of 2.5%.

Given this, analysts said Petronas Chemicals is poised to stage a strong debut on Malaysian stock exchange.

Opinion is divided on the share sale with some fund managers saying valuations are not cheap at 16 times earnings estimated for 2011.

However, Kuala Lumpur-based TA Research analyst Kevin Lo said in a recent report that Petronas Chemicals is worth MYR5.70 a share, using its closest peers as a benchmark comparison, namely Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (2010.SA) and PTT Chemicals PCL (PTTCH.TH). Both these companies trade at a 2011 forecast enterprise value to EBITDA of 8.6 times.

Lo likes Petronas Chemicals because it is one of the lowest cost producers globally, has a reliable supply of gas feedstock pursuant to a long term agreement with Petroliam Nasional at attractive prices and strong margins.

"The beginning of an upward cycle in Asian economies will be evident in Petronas Chemicals results going forward," said Lo.

Petronas Chemicals is selling a total of 2.48 billion shares in its initial share sale, 72% of which are new shares with 28% from parent Petroliam Nasional. Proceeds raised will be used to expand the business and for synergistic growth acquisitions.

Malaysian pension funds The Employees Provident Fund and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan--last month committed to taking up 18% of the IPO. Apart from the portion taken up by the pension funds, 37% was offered to ethnic Malay investors, 33% for book building and 12% to retail investors.

The company, which will have an enlarged share capital of 8 billion shares post IPO, earned a net profit of MYR2.59 billion on revenue of MYR12.2 billion in the year ended March 31. It also plans to pay 50% of its annual earnings to shareholders, according to its IPO prospectus.

The bookrunners for the offer are CIMB, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley, while Citigroup Inc. © and UBS AG (UBS) are co-bookrunners.

The shares are due to be listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on Nov. 26, the company said.

My goreng target price whistling.gif around RM 1.30-1.20. With EPF selling, I think I will wait for a while to see what happens.

divvy reduce coz EPS reduced.. last year they paid almost 82% of net profit as divvy.. thats very generous imo..
and this year 1H EPS is already as good as last year's full year EPS.. so i believe divvy payout will be better..

maybe they'll declare a 4c divvy this qtr and 4c next qtr.. total to 8c.. 6.2% gross yield..

depends on who you compare to, if P1, we are cheaper.
if u compare yes with 3G, of course it much more expensive but u got a better speed laugh.gif (5 times)

Somemore u can calling out like skype using yes, or u connect it with your phone.

no comment, but if u mean fundamental..for long term of coz YTLP is a good and safe counter, stable and give dividends every year.
But in telco field, big spending is necessary in the early stage.
1. to expand your coverage
2. increase your density
3. open branches and sales team
4. big spending if it start cover east malaysia

Just flipped through CSC Steel Qtr Report...

Revenue Dropped.. Profit Dropped...

~Sales Vol down.. Raw mats up
~Inventories write down of about 10M due to raw mats price

Prospects:
~Over supply in China and Malaysia's steel market is not doing well
~Low demand from China, Choppy US & Euro recovery
~Expect steel market to be challenging

~Only positive point is China's conservation [green] policy requires industries to reduce output, spurring interest in stocking steel due to lower production.
----------
heheheh can start to monitor CSC Steel liao.. by when the steel sinks.... laugh.gif

I saw someone saying LCTH's C&CE went up although they made losses.. I was curious and went to read their FR...
Please bear in mind i don't have any accounting knowledge, kindly correct me if i make any silly mistakes... ty notworthy.gif

Here is what i found:

~LCTH include "Receivables" & "Inventories" into "Cash & Cash Equivalents [C&CE]" in their Cash Flow Statement. rclxub.gif
Their C&CE increased despite making loss because the Receivables bloated by almost 9M from 38M to 47M.

~The interesting part is, they consider "Receivables" as cash generated from operating activities. I dont think the cash is in their bank account yet. No doubt it is generated on paper. tongue.gif

~Also, the "C&CE consists of bla bla bla" section give the same figure 103,538. Out of the number, I think only 16,782+52,645 are their real cash in hand.

~But somehow the number doesnt make much sense to me.

please lemme know if i'm typing nonsense.. still learning as always smile.gif

The 47m is the drop of receivables from 67m to a bout 18-20m at present, meaning more cash in the bank.

They have 52m parked in FD , so it is cash also

ya , can be said so, but can be used for investments at the same time.

You need to compare two B/S to understand more.

By looking at cashflow alone , sometimes rclxub.gif

About 35 percent of the Supermax’s overall sales come from nitrile gloves — the highest in the industry. United States is the largest consumer of nitrile gloves, which are used mostly in hospitals.

Time to go for defensive counter.

KL bourse may see more pullback

"The market may experience more pullback next week as China seems to have a currency war against the US and impose further tightening to their monetary policy," Affin Investment Bank's head of retail research Dr Nazri Khan said. "

Pacific & Orient Ends Talks With Prudential PLC On Unit Stake Sale

Pacific & Orient Bhd (6009.KU) said Friday that it has discontinued talks with U.K. insurer Prudential PLC (PRU.LN) for the sale of a stake in its non-life insurance unit Pacific & Orient Insurance Co.

The company had received approval from Bank Negara Malaysia in August to sell a stake in the insurance unit to Prudential Holdings Ltd., which is part of Prudential PLC.

Pacific & Orient Insurance, which has a 40% share of Malaysia's motorcycle insurance market, didn't say why talks were discontinued.

Super Bull In The Horizon, Says Chartist

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- A super bull run is in the horizon for the Kuala Lumpur stock market with the 30-stock benchmark index potentially surging up to 1,780 level towards the end of next year, market analyst, S.N Lock said.

After reaching multi-year and hictoric highs, all key regional, including the FBM KLCI and European markets took a dip on Friday amid worries of a possible increase in interest rates and Ireland's debt problem.

Lock, however said the decline after the vigorous rally and consolidation was much needed for the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FBM KLCI) to continue with its uptrend after reaching a hictoric high of 1,528.01.

"The potential target level for next year will be at 1,691-1,780, with critical support at 1,440-1,550 level," he said at the TheEdge Personal Money Investment Forum on The Stock Market 2010 on Saturday.

On a more bullish side, Lock said the FBM KLCI could also surge to 1,869-1,958 level, if the market barometer breaches the initial targets for 2011.

Among the key factors for the bullish outlook is the fact that retail participation is still very small despite the market's surge to new highs.

Hence, when they come on board the market will be boosted further, he said.

The engine of growth for the market, especially with more projects will be in the construction, property, steel and plantation sectors, Lock added.

Meanwhile, Maybank Investment Bank's vice president of research, Wong Chew Hann also said there was potential for more equity funds to flow into Malaysia.

"We expect the overnight policy rate to be stable at least until second half of 2011 and equities are attractive asset class for low interest rate time."

She however, gave a lower 2011-end target of 1,660 for the FBM KLCI.

Wong said the risk factors were stronger growth and better employment in the U.S. as well as possible capital control, especially in Asia.

On the outlook for China, Standard & Poor's director for equity research, Alexander Chia helped ease some possible concerns among participants at the event today, saying China may experience a soft landing.

AS reported in the Edge and just my intrepretations :-

1) Saachs is appointed by OSK to look for a buyer- 2 big banks ( Maybank and ICBC ) are interested so far. Price could be an issue. 3X price/book value ( what OSk is looking for ).

But if the deal to strike at 2x Price/value , still good for small investors , right ?

2) Kencana- A US based co, MC Dermott wants to buy up a stake of Kencana at 6x Price/book value or less than One US $ a share.

http://www.mcdermott.com/

Good thing is long term Foreign Investors start to eye on our local companies , and the Price/Book Value Offer is quite good ( Kencana ) I do not think their interests are limited to 2 only , could be more . And it might be cheaper to sapu some from the open market. Though the free float of our listed cos could be more than 50% , but the size of our local companies are not that big. I remember Sapuracrest foreign partner used to buy from the open market ( my view only )

Kencana Insiders could have collected a lot from open market and sell to the interested parties, and still make handsome profit.

But for the US long term investors, it is cheap to buy up good assets at US 50cents to one $ a share, with a Board Representation . win -win

And IF you are boss of a listed co, and someone is interested to buy a stake of your co. You just need to sapu from at 1X price/book in open market ( with funding from Sachs ) and sell these shares at above 2x Price/book value., and you still have control in the company.

And lot of small investors would be rushing to sell to them. Of course, we do not know exactly what is behind the scene. But. By reading more, you could start to sense something is fishy.

Just my interpretation only.

Regards.

OSK's BV is 1.68. eh i thought the article in btimes was putting the price tag at around 2x (3.36), i feel1.5x was more realistic since it'll be at a premium of 25% to a closing price of RM2, but not attractive for Ong the controlling stakeholder.

but if OSK is looking for 3x P/BV (3x is 5.04 drool.gif) then.. i'd sailang this stock. better than supermax. (last part was blow water only tongue.gif)

Have to see if OSK can break the RM 2 heavy resistance or not. It's been trying hard to overcome the barrier.

IF you ( insiders ) have ready buyers in hand , then you know whether the market price is cheap, fair or expensive.

So not applicable to the rest of us.

I only know they have strong cash in hand of 100m.

Short term losing a bit of money may not be a big problem, but not for long term

But the prospect may not look too good for this type of ind. One big customer moved to China.

Just my view.

my opinion...

3x book value for osk ? ...does maybank want to kena hamtam again from another overpriced acquisition.

buying a stock and wait for many moons for a buyout is risky. P&O will show you that tomorrow.

Went to Uniqlo yesterday...

The crowd was unbelievable...

I see people carrying basket to buy clothes in there... laugh.gif

People even buy winter wears like crazy in there... laugh.gif

Is the company running Uniqlo under DNP ? (2976)

Uniqlo is located at Fahrenheit88...Whereas, Bandar Utama is their HQ (office)...

Uniqlo is a Japanese company which sells clothing which range from your head to your toe...

It was just open this month, i think on the 4th November

the sharemarket is reacted to the end of the year effect.. things will maintain or doing lower before heading to the Christmas eve and new year 2011..

well, whatever not the bluechip and please let it go before the effect has impacted to you. Those are holding bluechip, let's go to holidays together. Well, today will be done the last transaction again at US market before heading for holidays indeed.

Good luck

nope. I just came across KULIM last week - spare split, bonus, free warrants etc. Bought few shares only. Most fund went to PCG IPO. If x kena, will load up KFC+QSR and more kulim.

Sold all useless shares and lost 1 brand new myvi in the process of portfolio cleaning.
