so far based on what i've gathered...
G20 may have come out with an agreement to control liquidity ... since a lot of nations object to USD printing...

Assuming TDC at 80c and I have 10,000 shares..
That means:
ParValue: 100c -> 10c -> 50c
Issued Share : 2.53B -> 2.53B -> 0.506B
Price: 80c -> 10c -> 50c

My Share: 10,000 -> 1,000 -> 200

Investment of RM8,000 become RM1,000 ?  blink.gif
How much do I get from capital repayment ?

*i dun have TDC, just learning how to calculate correctly.. ty in advance.. notworthy.gif
*
With initial 10,000 shares,you will end up with 2,000 shares after the capital reduction/consolidation.

The price of the 2,000 shares will depend on the closing price on the Ex date,not based on 80 sen.

For the capital repayment,you will receive RM200.

Meaning easily the value become 80% cheaper, right?
*
Nope.

If the closing price is 80c on the Ex date,the therotical opening price upon listing should be RM4,ignoring the capital repayment of 2c.

With the 2,000 shares left as in Moppy's example,the theoretical value should remain unchanged at Rm8,000 .

If like this, meaning no impact la. But the price suggest otherwise  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

That's because the term capital reduction/consolidation don't go down well with the masses.

Bear in mind that the closing price on the Ex date may not be 80c,could be lower at say 50 sen,then the impact is still negative.

Just sharing on the issue,not asking anyone to buy or sell. laugh.gif

Yup, fixed at RM7.7. I don't think we can immediately recognize the profit as +RM1.3 (now RM9) as I think the new shares will dilute the current shares thus lowering the price. Am I right?
*
Sell your existing holding in the market,then wait for the new share in lieu of dividend to be credited.

The numbers must tally.You will end up with the same amount of shares originally,yet realised your "gain".

Since Dividend is 44sen less tax,only big sharks can take advantage.Small holders not worth doing as the cost not justifiable.
