Hi sifu-sifu, i have a MSI GP60-2OD laptop and it's having GT740M (2GB DDR3). i have some questions. can i connect the VGA to my external monitor (which support 1080p)? is it going to use on-board graphic or the graphic power from the gpu? will it be hot when i play dota 2? Thanks for any reply. biggrin.gif

You can connect it to the LCD and it's gonna be GPU which bear the load smile.gif

Anyone knows what is VGA Bios in MSI Live Update used for? Using MSI Z97 Gaming 7.

And i cant update to .12 from .11. After downloaded and installed, startup of Live Update again shows its .11 instead of .12. Weird.

Hi TechnoG,

Sorry for the late reply.

Have you try the VGA card on the other system, and the issue still exist?

Or have you try to put in another VGA card on your motherboard to give it a test also?

Appreciate if you able to do the testing, so that we can rectify the problem more accurate.

Please let us know if you facing any issue on that.

Thank You!

Hi TechnoG,

Please provide us the Serial Number of your VGA card, we will need that to check the VGA card warranty status. If you still keep the invoice of the VGA card is an advantage too. Please capture the S/N and the invoice and PM us.

Thank You.

Hi Sue_Cinta,

Ya, the one with barcode. Or if it is not there, you just capture the front of the mobo is fine.

Thank You.

Hi,

I have a question... well actually it's question from my housemate though...
We're in process of building our new rig... Mine using MSI H97 Gaming 3, while my friends already bought Z97 Gaming 7...

In terms of memory module usage, we would like to know... which are the highest RAM module speed that we could use?

For my H97, seems my op are only with any 1600MHz RAM module right?
How about for the Z97 mobo? It's bit confusing when look for the details on the MSI site... it state the RAM speed with "*" symbol... which is OC
... what is the meaning of that actually?

Thanks in advance from both of us smile.gif

Hi Sue_Cinta,

For H97 Gaming 3, the highest support for RAM module is 1600 Mhz. And this mobo is not able to Overclock, (OC).

For Z97 Gaming 7, this mobo is supported for Overclocking. The highest support for RAM module is 1600Mhz. While in OC mode, the highest is 3300Mhz.

This is the different between H97 Gaming 3 & Z97 Gaming 7.

Thanks for the respond... so, that's mean, Z97 still have to use max 1600MHz module right? But, if it overclocked...can clock up to the mention oc speed, isn't it?

If the memory speed number are not mark with * thats mean, I can use that as my max speed module, am I right?

Hi sue_cinta,

As per spec list, the product supports the listed ram speed, with * means overclocking will be involved.

Thank you.
