Hi,
I have a question... well actually it's question from my housemate though... We're in process of building our new rig... Mine using MSI H97 Gaming 3, while my friends already bought Z97 Gaming 7... In terms of memory module usage, we would like to know... which are the highest RAM module speed that we could use? For my H97, seems my op are only with any 1600MHz RAM module right? How about for the Z97 mobo? It's bit confusing when look for the details on the MSI site... it state the RAM speed with "*" symbol... which is OC ... what is the meaning of that actually? Thanks in advance from both of us ![]() |

QUOTE(MSI-MY @ Jul 6 2015, 12:07 PM) Hi Sue_Cinta, Thanks for the respond... so, that's mean, Z97 still have to use max 1600MHz module right? But, if it overclocked...can clock up to the mention oc speed, isn't it?For H97 Gaming 3, the highest support for RAM module is 1600 Mhz. And this mobo is not able to Overclock, (OC). For Z97 Gaming 7, this mobo is supported for Overclocking. The highest support for RAM module is 1600Mhz. While in OC mode, the highest is 3300Mhz. This is the different between H97 Gaming 3 & Z97 Gaming 7. If the memory speed number are not mark with * thats mean, I can use that as my max speed module, am I right? |

As per spec list, the product supports the listed ram speed, with * means overclocking will be involved. Thank you. which one is natively the value of CUDA CORE on MSI GPU? ![]() |

Hello,
I got hand on my 2nd MSI Z97 mobo which is Z97-G55 SLI... beside my earlier purchase/built with Z97 Gaming 5... I noticed that both can used standard/normal RAM speed up to & between 1066/1333/1600MHz and has * for other speed (OC) 1866*/2000*/2133*/2200*/2400*/2600*/2666*/2800*/3000*/3100*/3200*/3300* I have used 4x8GB RAM @ 1600MHz on my first build... but, for the OC listed RAM speed, I'm still not really understand... Does it mean (let say), I bought a 2x8GB RAM @ 1866MHz (or higher)... can I paired it with my mobo? Do I need to "do something" to it? Or, i just plug-and-play it in the RAM socket and my system will have RAM with 1866MHz speed? Please help.. thanks. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Sep 13 2015, 10:46 AM) afaik, u have to manually bump up the frequency. else it will just remain at the frequency that the cpu support (@1600). Thanks bro for the feed back... I had bought the 4x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz and... at first, I wondered why my bios not showing any X.M.P menu...After few research here and there, fortunately my RAM already run at it advertise speed which is 1866MHz But, further question, can I bump this speed a bit more? Like 2000++ MHz? |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Sep 13 2015, 09:48 PM) people suggested to used the XMP for an easy RAM overclock, but I cant find my XMP menu on my mobo...I'm using MSI Z97 Gaming 5... saw from net there should be the menu somewhere in the bios on the advances setting... funny, it wasn't there... is it because of the RAM itself? The vids I saw was using the same mobo but using a different RAm which is Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz |

Hello,
I owned a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 mobo which had been bought way back in May 2015... and had use it happily with a single-channel mode of Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1866MHz... in last few days, had some budget to topup the memory module for another identical piece... when I put the new memory module for a dual-channel mode, a "loop-restart" happened... and this happened again and again... I had test both memory modules (one modules per one slot test), everything work fine... system powered, boot in windows... but only limited to RAM slot 1 & slot 2 only. While both slot 3 & slot 4 are not functioning... thus, I'm not able to use dual-channel mode either with slot 2 + slot 4 OR slot 1 + slot 3... atm, I'm using both memory modules on slot 1 + slot 2 for 16GB single-channel mode RIG INFORMATION Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 CPU: Pentium G3258 GPU: N/A RAM: 2x HyperX Fury 8GB 1866MHz OS: Windows 10 Were my ram slot 3 & slot 4 dead? If YES, what is the proper way to do a RMA for MSI product? This post has been edited by sue_cinta: Oct 26 2015, 10:49 AM |

QUOTE(MSI-MY @ Oct 29 2015, 12:09 PM) Hi Sue Cinta, yeah, sure... I'm intended to do so... but, where is exactly the location I need to send the mobo for inspection?Sorry for the late reply. I think its better you send the motherboard to us for further troubleshoot. Is it ok? Thank You. the shop where I bought the mobo says it was in the Plaza Pantai nearby the LRT Kerinchi... am I correct to assume it's there? Usually how long would it take for the inspection? and what should I bring along during my time there? Thanks in advance |

QUOTE(dannrawr @ Dec 13 2015, 04:29 AM) if u looking between 980ti with the hybrid one with the fury x, that should be decent comparison...980ti have more vram compare to fury x... 6G compare to 4G... imo, if u're looking to get a good 4k exp, a higher vram should be the solution.. but, also depend on what u gonna use the gpu for... fury x does have higher Memory Interface bus... more 10x faster than the 980ti... this should be important for media contain creator... not sure for gaming though... |
