Will I damage my laptop battery if let's say I plug in my battery to my laptop while at the same time using my adapter to power my laptop?

Will my laptop battery get damaged due to overcharging ?

Reason is because in case of any black out, my laptop battery will be able to power my laptop if there is a power surge.

Please help

there's no such thing as overcharging... the laptop would cut off power to the battery once it's fully charged...

however, heat does kill the battery cells, best to remove it when using intensive programs like gamin... nod.gif

its highly depend on your usage, especially for new battery.

check your CPU usage level, brightness of LCD, those are the major factor.

----

let me put it this way:

you plug in your battery during DC supply, there is slight probability that your battery lifespan will decreasing by time.

you unplug your battery during DC, your battery lifespan might be a little longer, but you will face a risk of mobo damage due to sudden ceased of power supply.

which one do you prefer?

how long the battery can last depends on many factors...

capacity of the battery, program that u run, wear lvl of the battery, juz to name a few...

as a general guideline, expect around 3hrs from a new battery, ULV and netbooks excluded...

why not? thats most common trick especially when you are traveling smile.gif

dont worry much about your battery duration. just check your usage level and its can be control by that way.

I never removed the batteries of my M100 as well... wasn't aware of the heat that was killing it cry.gif
Now can last around 45 minutes only....
I don't think if always unplug the battery will shorten the lifespan of the batteries that quickly though...
