there's no such thing as overcharging... the laptop would cut off power to the battery once it's fully charged...

however, heat does kill the battery cells, best to remove it when using intensive programs like gamin... nod.gif

after reading this...quickly i remove the batt...

is dat posible i buy new battery for my laptop..but hav long lasting life..3hour++

how long the battery can last depends on many factors...

capacity of the battery, program that u run, wear lvl of the battery, juz to name a few...

as a general guideline, expect around 3hrs from a new battery, ULV and netbooks excluded...

honestly i never trust those system monitoring programs from the makers themselves...

more often than not, they are overly simple and dun provide much useful data...

u'll be surprise when u use third party programs like HWMonitor and BatteryCare...

this one's from my 1.5yr old laptop...

Attached Image

yup, only 1% wear after 18 mths of using... this is the result of removing the battery religiously whenever i use AC power...

4hrs is not a big problem when i am on Asus Power4Gear Battery Saving Mode... with C2D T9550 and HD4650...

Yeah.

My friend just msn me that his laptop suddenly restarts and his work is lost completely since he did not save it when typing it into the wordpad.

The Microsoft Office can recover our documents in case there is a electic trip?

ur friend should use Ctrl+S instead...

i rather have my battery spoil rather than having to redo all my work if there's any sudden electric trip.. i think the battery wont overcharge.. i have a spare battery for my laptop which i seldom use an they both now have almost the same capacity of storing the charge which will run my laptop not more than 45minutes.
*
yes, it won't overcharge, rather it's the heat from other hardware (CPU, GPU, etc) that will kill the cells...
