Is strange, please state what's the steps you took. What files you use. To wipe just factory reset and cache, no need format SD card

ok firstly pls forgive me for being stupid to ask this question

1)actually what the hell is kernel?
2)what does a speedmod mod kernel does?
3)if i download it in XDA where shall i place the file in odin and will it work with stock JG4 with voodoo installed?
*
1) The 'customized for Android' linux kernel sits under the Android app framework - http://developer.android.com/guide/basics/...is-android.html
2) Speedmod kernel does a lot of things - it has the base features of universal_lagfix kernel, features of super_optimized kernel and some extra tweaks and customizations of its own. Take time to read up if you can, just the first 1-3 posts will give you lots of info..

universal lagfix kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814228
super optimized kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811660
speedmod kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756

If still unclear, be patient and take time to learn up. Otherwise, ask a more techie friend to help do the updates for you.

3) If I remember correctly, the JPD firmware came in 1 tar file. You put it under PDA, in ODIN. Disable the voodoo for eclair first before you attempt to apply any froyo firmware. JPD firmware will need the voodoo for froyo which you can apply after installing the firmware.

yup im flashing JPD, pit file is .803, follow exactly every step, even the flashing in ODIN says PASS then when reboot got problem it just shows the S logo then blank screen and it will be vibrating every few secs
*
Can you get into recovery mode and do a reset?

On the sidenote, did you have non-RFS partition around before you flashed?

thanks for attending to me guys, appreciate it, im flashing again for the fourth time, here are my steps :

1) Using ODIN 1.3, open ODIN, then add the pit file (which i downloaded from samfirmware .803 pit file) then i add the PDA part using a file named JPE_U.tar. then i press start. i tried both repartition ticked and unticked.

2) After finish the ODIN shows PASS then the phone will enter recovery 3e mode and i use home button to select reboot now

3) After pressing reboot, the dancing S will come out and then the S will be there for a while then next thing screen blank and it vibrates every few secs.

Its happening for the fourth time after flashing. how?

Did you flash to JM8 first? Then select 803pit for JPD and no repartition?

You choose PDA only? Modem and CSC didn't select any?

Well, this is what I did for my buddy, whose phone was on JPM (I think) with super-optimized kernel.

1. boot to recovery, disable lagfix, reboot, partitions will convert back to rfs.
2. boot to download, install JM9 firmware (pda, phone and csc) with 512 pit (repartition checked).
3. boot to download, install JPD firmware (pda) with 803 pit (repartition unchecked).
4. boot to download, install speedmod kernel.
5. boot to recovery, enable kernel tweaks, enable lagfix
6. boot to recover, install superuser + root tools

Pressed factory reset and clear cache before you reboot system?

Well, if you don't have modified partitions then it's less concern.

just select the PDA and Modem, No CSC for JM8.

No need to tick or check anything, just flash it
