Nexus 1 & Desire are the catalyst for Android. Galaxy S is the propagation that follows through. And now with all those Desire HD, Droid X, and basically everybody else jumping on the bandwagon, Android is going to enter Explosion state (or in the midst of it).

Google knows this, and that is why their Nexus 2 ought to be significantly better than N1 (Not like IP4, not much diff from 3GS).

That is why I believe the rumour that Google and Sammy working on N2 is true, coz Google knows Sammy is good on making superb hardware, but lacks on software. Their joint effort could define a new era coming for Android development.

Just my opinion though. brows.gif

Hey guys, I just got hold of galaxy tab hours back. Running froyo is very smooth. Like my SGS eclaire on Voodoo. The UI looks more like ADW launcher. Camera got flash. Feels really good on my hand. Don't feel like buying one, but I don't mind owning one either, haha biggrin.gif .

Btw, it is rooted. drool.gif The maxis promoter says stocks already finish. Probably need to wait till next year. Don't know how true is that. Well here are the pic I took:

Dunno for sure yet, I suspect only because LP Plus is one of the apps I use the most. This round of testing JPO, I decided not to simply install apps and games - only install those I really need, then monitor batt usage. Then add optional apps one by one to monitor some more.

I heard about ADW Launcher.. maybe you can try  cool.gif thumbup.gif
*
Btw, I dont think LP Plus is that sucking batt that much. I have been using LP Plus all this while and it is ok, then I install tweetdeck, and the batt consumption rate has gone up significantly. But then that maybe because I left the original settings un-touch which is syncing every 15 minutes. Then I tune it to 2 hours, batt life improve a bit. But overall, tweetdeck is still a major batt sucker for me. rclxub.gif

Ya, maybe you are right about LP Plus. The battery history thing on the phone does not clearly identify the batt sucker app for me, or maybe I am not good at understanding the info displayed. Do you know of any utilities that will clearly show how much batt % that specific apps are using, over a period of time?

Aiyo, I love both LP Plus and TweetDeck. TweetDeck is such a wonderful app, single tool for checking my twitter, facebook and foursquare timelines. I know it's a sucker (beta version was a dracula) but updating every 2 hours is ok, no?
*
Updating every 2 hours is ok for me. But then I have added 2 more columns also updating every 2 hours. doh.gif
So batt consumption for me is already double compare to life without tweetdeck before. biggrin.gif
Yeah, I agree with u, it is a good tool. I even have the desktop version installed on my laptop.

I am no expert in defining the batt history thing, but I think the CPU usage is good at identifying apps that consume battery. the problem is it just shows how long the apps running in time and not how many % of batt it uses.

Hi, just want to ask anyone bought the premium ROM Manager? Is it worth it?
I am using the free version now and considering buying it so that I can simply download ROM OTA.

Ok. My batt life has been awful these 2 days. Found out that this is the problem:

Android system - partial wake lock (Under "Partial Wake Usage")

Definition (frm Android Developer) - Wake lock that ensures that the CPU is running. The screen might not be on.

Found a possible solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698659
But this doesn't work for me, cause I didn't use network time

Anybody also facing this issue please share if you got a solution or possible solution. tq icon_question.gif

The latest update of LaucherPro is sucking battery big time. Ver 0.8.1.1
I check & monitor and found that it is using CPU power alot..

It was fine previously, only using 2% of full charge before now.

Now, I find that it is using 15% of my full charge

really? Im using it too.. but first time using this LauncherPro, dunno if it sucks too much battery life than previous version.
*
You can check batt status in settings. And in my batt history I find that partialwakelock is never sleep. So I restarted LauncherPro and now it seems fine. Not sure what causing the battery drain. Just my observation and findings.

These 2 process is listed as "android.process.acore". When I expand, the status is "background" and package is "com.fede.launcher"

Is it the same thing we are talking about here?

I think I found the discussion thread here. Looks like LP is the problem from what I gather. unsure.gif

if so then same case with me.

BTW, I've the Andoird system Info app,and it seems theres still only one process.acore at 0%.
looks like the trick works..  smile.gif but when access WiFi, the two process still come up at 100% sweat.gif
*
Yep. That happens to me too. But I notice that after you off wifi, the process.acore drop back to 0%.

Later,
I follow the advice of the link you gave, Settings>Application>Manage Application>LauncherPro>Clear Default. Now I only have one process.acore at 1%, with WIFI on. rclxms.gif

using LauncherPro 8.1.1 and Doc's 7.6.2 rom

unplug at 11.00 pm last night at 100% then go sleep
wake up at 5.30 am, and it already 75%
at 7.20 am, at 70%

so terrible..  rclxub.gif  have to charge again at noon.
*
Your result is almost same like me. haha..

But I got tweetdeck and emails syncing at night, so when i wake up it is like 30% gone.. shocking.gif

I put to flight mode it is still 25% gone, coz I think some widgets is trying to online and this consumes battery.

I kill LP and keep and tweetdeck and emails syncing, today wake up 20% gone.

The 3 scenarios above is without WIFI on.

Miss the days when I woke up it is only 5% gone..

so,we should have less widgets & auto kill unnessarry apps running on background.my sgs running with 80% battery since 11 hours ago fully charged.

Widgets consume power nonetheless.. we know that. Which widgets consume more, which widgets consume less, we don't know that for sure. It is like sugar, which you know it will make you fat and give you diabetes but you still like to take it.

I think auto-killing apps is a default in android system. Auto-killer apps is just to tune the android settings to the one we like.

Despite of this, I think I can get back to 5% battery drop if I do a factory reset. hmm.gif

Btw, as of now, Android System Info shows I have 37 apps running and in the background (system apps, stock apps, user apps, etc). CPU load is fluctuating at 20% TO 35%.

ext4 consume more power?? Maybe, but it worth the change.. brows.gif
