Download Zedge from the market. It has a large collection of static wallpapers for you to download, and ringtones too.

Are you stuck at "Connecting Device"? If you are, this is what I did to get it working:

Are you able to connect to mass storage mode? Is your Kies connection problem is stuck at "connecting device" on Kies?

If your mass storage mode is working, try to put it to media mode, then a pop up on your Window screen ask you what to do, you choose open folder and select default. Then try reconnecting to Kies again (remember to change to Kies mode first). Don't open Kies first, connect your device, if successful, a pop up will appear like in media mode, choose open folder and click default. Then open Kies. If that pop up appear then Kies should connect successfully.

Hope it works for you too.

Did you restart your computer before you did this? Sometime it helps.

Btw, is media mode successful for you?

Yes. Kies mode. Media mode is just to shake it a bit so that it works in Kies mode.

Btw, here is the detail step-by-step that I did to make it works:

1. Open Kies, rollback driver.
2. Connect SGS in Kies==>nothing detected.
3. Connect SGS in mass storage==>nothing detected.
4. Connect SGS in media mode====>detected and install driver.
5. Connect back to Kies mode==>Connected.

Hope it helps. If still can't, I know you can send back to Samsung to fix it for you.

Btw, it took me 2 nights to fix that damm Kies connection problem.

If you manage to get into Kies mode once, make sure you select open folder and click default. Coz this problem might recur. I think kies stuck at connecting device is due to windows cannot detect your phone in Kies mode. Coz this pop up is by Windows. Once windows detect, Kies can detect.

I think @silentser is right. First they said no Froyo, now they said unstable version. Sounds to me like a face saving reply...

I think for z4mod to work perfectly, the kernel patch has to be accurate. Last night I only managed to find one DXJPA kernel but it is a Thai version and the date correspond to our Froyo release date. And I downloaded the zImage. Now I am not sure whether to proceed or not...

Ok after installed OCLF lagfix, there is a noticeable difference:
1. Faster opening of apps
2. Faster bootup
3. Smoother when scrolling

Quadrant score is 1800+ compare to 980+ previously.

The above is compared to official Froyo and is only after a few hours after install OCLF lagfix. Not sure in a few days time as previously OCLF tends to feel laggy after awhile.

Doesn't feel safe to install other types of lagfixes coz most others are not based on DXJPA kernel, as this kernel is new, probably I'll wait a week or two, to check see any development on this kernel.

Yes I can confirm it is awesome now compare to the previous version. Btw, you can download from the marketplace. But it won't show if your marketplace is set to this region. You need marketEnabler to simulate US region then you can find it in the marketplace.

I wonder what is the performance after you install more apps. Anyway, since you come from stock eclaire, this stock froyo should serve you better.

Many of those complain of stock froyo lagginess usually comes from Voodoo-ed eclaire. No choice, Voodoo is good.
