Submitted an upgrade for Astro B.yond last Sunday on their website. Nobody contacted me until now, so I tried contacting them via Twitter.

Here's their reply:

So, their so called upgrade to their customer service system seems to be like a downgrade instead.

Just hope something goes wrong and the whole satelite goes crazy and we can get other frequencies !! BTW despite upgrade or downgrade my bill is prompt.Except for that I did not notice any other changes!

If satelite got crazy than we cannot watch any channel anymore. But the worst we'll have to pay their bill without any rebate

Yeah, right ! We are souls with no back up either !

Damn. I just submitted a request yesterday. Sigh.

I tasted about new channel lah...
but i think NBA TV is SD, why not HD??XD

Could be a HD premium, lets see ! I guess There could be two sports pack in the near future. On the other hand MIOTV has launched an ultimate pack of 60 superb channels plus sports at S$50 which is just RM100+ but sad to see ours exceeds RM100 !

If our Astro all SD channel in MPEG4, then the rm100++ is worthy...

Hi guys, need to ask you all something so I hope someone can help me. I have the Astro B.yond PVR set but lately it's been giving me problems. The picture always freezes and then it restarts itself. It has become so bad I can't watch more than one or two hours of astro before it freezes again.

Anyway I called up Astro and they're sending technicians over soon with a new decoder. I have recorded so many dramas for my granny to watch so I was wondering if there was a way for the technician to transfer the recorded shows onto my new set? Or is everything I recorded all gone?

Anyone experience this before?

astro implementation of byond PVR is not flexible at all, astro seems wanted to comply with copyright rule 100%, recorded videos must reside in one particular decoder only, movies can not be transferred out of the decoder box

Thanks for your reply neb. That is disappointing to hear especially since this problem is no fault of ours and we now have to suffer for it. I get that they're trying to prevent piracy with their decoders but they should at least allow the transfer of data from the faulty decoder over to the new one so everything we recorded is not lost. My decoder is only around 3 months old as well. Very disappointing but then this is nothing new with Astro... thanks again anyway

So anyone got their B.yond upgrade from SD in the previous 1-2 weeks? I wonder if they really would do a follow up (since they said their system not stable to perform upgrades).

i dun think anybody got their byond lately...not hear from anyone!so, i think it is bcoz the lawsuit issue la...i think so la! So, this 10 december will be the date to hear the result!

so if AV Asia wins, does this mean we will get all our paid Rm20 per month back?

nope.. i registered on 27 nov and still no call from astro..
