ok,but do you think the astro box is faulty?
the installer told me that since previously using s cable,the box might jsut be faulty if using a new one or change to HD.

AFAIK, SD program on normal Astro receiver and B.yond should have same PQ.

Only HD program on B.yond receiver got better HD PQ.

ok so in other words,if i installed beyond,my pic quality is better in SD programmes?
as compared to the old astro box?

can i view any sample pictures taken in SD using beyond box?

I observed that watching Astro SD programmes on LED TV, its quality is worse off than watching from a CRT TV.

Try watch SD channel in upscaled 1080i... (if your TV have good deinterlaced feature)

Exactly, Astro SD is worst seen on LCD and LED, I heard Plasma is ok with Astro SD, However its all in our eyes and a matter of taste , we may find it worst some may find it superb, I beg to differ too Beyond does not improve SD quality.

Added on January 17, 2011, 7:46 pmI too hv a z series but if u find PQ is bad play with the PQ settings esp the backlight, set to auto view and set your desired settings, disable resolution+ if u find Astro SD is turning HD,!!I think there is another Post RElated to Toshiba , search it regards. If u hv a HDTV then consider Beyondlah if not it may be a wasted effort to switch to HDTV

Your problem is worst. I still can resume but picture got freeze when it reach at time I start press record.
So mine also worst

@lapaq, is it true astro guys wanna talk with me? I'm glad if astro guys come to my home, so easy to show to them what really a problem.
For your info, last year I already go to astro CS at damansara together with my decoder. But they not check my decoder at all and say this problem will fix when new firmware update is release. But after a few version firmware is release, this problem still happen.

Better than normal one, but don't put too high hope, it just slightly better and viewable than before.

Hello everyone,
currently I have astro b.yond that is connected to the satellite dish in the master-bed room.
However, i just bought a new 50' tv which is located at the living room.
I am able to receive astro over there BUT d HD channels are really horrible. If i were to purchase another b.yond box, how would the process be?
Would i be charged extra every month/ is it 2 seprate accounts or what?

Nothing beats CRT for SD. However have you noticed that the PQ of HD adverts on SD channel? Its superb!....

Can i have PVR function without subscribing to byond? I just need the rec function only.

Hey guys suddenly had problem with my HD channels...normal channels are ok. It's written "Copy Protection failed"

ANy idea why?

Yesterday go to ropewalk Penang, found that they selling
AstroFirst malay movie (Ngangkung,Aku Masih Dara and Damping Malam) 3 for RM15.

I'm thinking, if they can copy AstroFirst movie this mean that the AstroFirst will not successful.
No wonder FINAS wanted to discusss with Astro management after they launching AstroFirst.
