QUOTE(zsnipes @ Jun 18 2009, 05:00 PM)
Got 2 Tailors at Amcorp Mall named Peter Tailor & Vincent Tailor.

I want to make 1 set of Coat & Pants. biggrin.gif

Vincent Tailor
Color: Black
Material: Silk Wool (it's what he told me)
Tailor: A Younger Man (looks not as experience as Peter Tailor below)
Price: RM1,000 (Coat & Pants)

Peter Tailor
Color: Black
Material: Unknown (forgot to ask, I feel it's not as silky as the above Silk Wool)
Tailor: An Older Man (looks quite experience in doing tailoring)
Price: RM700 (Coat & Pants)

Other better quality clothing I cannot afford anymore, over budget. sweat.gif

So, which one do you think is good, please suggest one. notworthy.gif
Thanks.

normally if u walk into their shop, they should have some ready results (perhaps for other customers). just ask them for permission to have a look and u can see the quality of their workmanship.

no one is going to be able to tell u for sure unless...

1) u take photos of the results from the 2 shops and show us here (if the tailors find out, they will kill u)
2) one of us here bothers to go to the 2 tailors to check for u
3) one of us here has made at least one suit at each tailor to have a fair comparison of the 2

as it is, even the pricing doesnt mean anything because the 2 tailors have 2 different materials (unless u can be sure they are using the same material)

basically there are many type of materials, you can't actually say "below grade of silk wool" because there's many factors when it comes to the material.. not just based on the type, but grade as well.. one thing is for sure, they are definitely materials which are less expensive, you cant expect much when you're paying that kind of price..

btw, when you call them up, ask them how much they charge for their services if you supply them with your own material..

Added on June 19, 2009, 1:37 ambtw, i know a tailor nearby my place here called 'Just Men' in Taman Melawati, his suits start around RM800.. i can pay him a visit and look at his materials to help you out..

Well, it's tough really. Sometimes I spend those cold lonely nights all by myself wondering can I trade it off for something to make my life much more carefree and relaxed. The thing is I may never come to a point where I will never give a damn about clothing/style anymore. Not in this life. I'm getting fewer and fewer friends but closer and closer to tailors. tongue.gif

Back to the photo,
Black blazer and black pants are already a sin. Jacket collar is riding up. Cuffs are way too big and long. Shirt collar can be fitted better. Not another Mt.Spiffy(whoever he is) knot. Bottom button...Shoulders look humongous in his skinny frame. Did they even get him the right size?. Staffs at G2000 needs to be trained for the love of god.

zsnipes, the picture above by jaunty_niel is a great example of the type of suit some of the guys here are trying to help you avoid (my apologies jaunty_niel).. the suit is at least two sizes bigger than what he should have opt for, he didn't bother altering his shirt sleeve, they practically covered half of his hands..

and btw zsnipes, go get a proper haircut a week before your photo shoot/wedding so you'll look like a gentleman.. do not follow trendy hairstyles so you will not date yourself in the pictures, keep yourself well groomed, you're not going to a club, you're getting married..

on a positive note on the picture above, at least he has a dimple on his tie smile.gif

Most people fail to look at the details in formal attire. Because they don't always wear a wedding suit, so when they see it they'll just say, "Wow you look gorgeous!" Because, well, it's a suit!

indeed, i think especially in countries like malaysia where the locals rarely wear suits, therefore it is common for people to go "hey looking handsome there" when someone throws on a suit, even though it is not properly fitted..

Well, you can choose whether you'll wear a wedding suit or a tux. Anyway, when is the big day? If you wanna buy an outfit, you can always visit online shopping stores. Most of them offer discounted men's clothing and apparels. You can surely save a dime... nod.gif

^ Tuxedos are strictly evening wear, only worn if your wedding is held in the evening.
