Additional Info: This is one of noisetrigger favorites, the room is big, and comfortable, it's really clean, lots of parking available(free) just in front of the studio, and there is a foodcourt behind the studio, it is really convenient.

Equipment wise, there is one Line 6 Spider II halfstack, one MG100 halfstack, and one Laney combo bass amp. Not sure what's the brand of the drums but my drummer loves it. The soundproofing is pretty well done and the acoustic is really good, you can really hear everyone clearly.

Additional Info: Owner's ICE Tan, has long hair and weird specs. He has Tama drums and Pearl drums. One room has a Paiste Rude ride cymbal and mostly Headliner cymbals and hi-hats. The drums sound great. Tuned by Malacca's best drummer,Gene. (everyone agrees, Gene VS Rudy of Pop Shuvit, I'll put EVERYTHING on Gene.) You donnit to worry about the sound, they mostly sound good, unless you decide to mess up the snare.
Dunno what guitars la... Three rooms. The rooms are okay, sized. But the aisle is as narrow as my 7A drumsticks.
One word, please if you enter at 10.10PM, get out at 11.10PM. Don't wait till he asks you to get out.

that's La Floresta Music Centre. once you get to shah alam city centre, you'll noticed one huge shopping mall opposite Quality Hotel, across MPSA building and next to Perangsang Building. it is almost impossible for you to not notice that building considering only a handfull shopping mall in Shah Alam.

I was there for my Dimarzio Breed like two months ago and I don't remember seeing any Randall amps. They got lots of Epis though, Epi SG gothic, LP, lots of others I can't remember now...

But beware, they are blood sucking pricks. The standard 10% discount rule doesn't apply to them.

Which studio suits me? I want to have a band practice without recording, drums and keyboards provided. Nice environment. Spacious prefered (dun wan to be in sardin can. lol). Near PJ or SS2 or Bandar Utama or tmn tun or damansara jaya. Price, not more than RM20. Any recomendations? Cause my band is still fresh and new.

Hard to find a decent studio under RM20lar... I would recommend the Akar Karya studio in Damansara Uptown, spacious, clean and good equipment. Not too how much they charge for their studios but imo it's reasonable. :thumbsL

Try Hacienda Studio dude... it's wonderful for my band so far... they have 2 stacks of Laney for the guitar... can't remember wat they are using for bass and drums...

It's near the old limkokwing...opposite Tea Time Restaurant... The details of the studio is on one of the previous post.

What about guitar shops in penang?

hey does anyone know where I can rent amps and pedals? preferably marshall amps and boss pedals i need them soo badly for my school's teacher's day. I know there are loads around here, but i'm more refering to the qualities. some here around at my place sucks badly. i live in cheras btw, thanks!.

How much you willing to spend? I believe most jamming studio will rent it to you for a fee and a deposit. Expect to pay RM100++ for the rental and RM500 to RM1000++ for the deposit.

There might be some studios that will be willing to rent it to you without deposit but the amp might not be the best.

I reckon you will do better borrowing from friends.

live recording or record one by one then putting it all together?

It all depends on your band I guess. If you wanna record it live your band has to be tight and the studio equipment has to be good enough to accomodate your band. In addition, you guys could experiment with tempo changes and the sound will be more 'live' than tracking. If you prefer to layer the tracks track by track, it would be much tighter and locked to the beat.

That said, there are some studios which go for both options. First, you guys would play the track and they would only take the drums and perhaps bass track while muting the rest. Then the guitar parts would be laid and followed by vocals etc.

There isn't a 'better' choice, just the one that suits your band the most.

totally agree..they are blood sucking pricks..and they totally have no idea what is electro-harmonix...i mean that they are doing business,at least they gonna have a bit knowledge on gears..totally sucks that shop..they rather let the business slips away and won't tolerate or give discount..last time i had to get the other guitar shop acted on my behalf and get more discount...what the hell..the worst guitar store i have ever met..

LOL, so many people banging La Floresta... all i know is their price for DiMarzio's are freakin expensive despite being the "official" distributor. RM400 for the cheapest humbucker if i'm not mistaken. And the more expensive ones would probably cost like RM440+.
