More weight makes the camera less shaky, that's why u see people using rigs for video shoot which are quite heavy. Same thing, compare PnS with DSLR, which is less shaky when u hold them both? smile.gif
with more weight, the one that will get shaky soon will be your arm. smile.gif

heavy doesn't mean more stable. in many cases even harder to be stable.

if you hold point & shoot like the way you hold SLR, i don't see how it's going to be more shaky.

I'm somehow skeptical and usually I will charge 8 hours whenever I buy new toys. tongue.gif Perhaps used to this practice.
most people just rush to use stuff la.

for me very simple, i come back. charge when i go sleep. biggrin.gif if not 8 hours also easily 6 hours.

new toy no need to rush to play cos it won't run away.

if they can replace, then i hope they allow 60D users to have it without the lock. biggrin.gif

interestingly 2010 only they implement. tongue.gif that also on 60D. IMO no matter how, it should be made optional, perhaps some on-body mechanism to have it LOCK or UNLOCK rather than lock all the time.

Ya lor... much prefer to be able to thumb flick change the mode dial. Tak paham why a lock is needed.
Canon thread so long also so few people complain. biggrin.gif i also like being able to thumb flick.

i thought of Sony's dials but they were horrible, like the one on A280 or something.

Naw go back and tell the Sony friends to jump ship and stop waiting for the so called A700 replacement which will most probably pawned by Nonac or Nokin later on tongue.gif

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 3 2010, 06:41 PM)
.....

Thanks! Still learning, most of my shots were underexposed(using Av) but since i'm shooting in RAW so, not so bad la biggrin.gif Also noticed that i need to keep changing my flash exposure compensation. Due to inaccurate TTL or it's like that?

....
shouldn't be that bad.

your environment varies in lighting, so it could be the camera telling flash wrong thing. depends where you point the flash and diffuser also.

there are so many variables but we certainly can pinpoint to the flash, even with Canon flash you can face different exposures.

for me, 3rd party or Canon flash, i've rarely use FEC.

those 3rd party flash may not match Canon units but shouldn't be too bad either cos if they're that bad they won't be selling well.

one thing for sure is you're still very new and it is very likely due to lack of experience rather than being flash problem.

what battery are you using? i haven't play with the 622 that's with me but the 866 looks alright so far. Maybe i should go KLIM or something to test drive.

last page someone mentioned about bounce and diffuser, actually you can use both together.

try maggi cup pointing upwards, you get bounced diffused light plus direct diffused light to the front. same goes to stofen.

One thing for sure, 90& of my shots were underexposed, some very very under.I almost had to increase exposure for all of em' .Anyway,I shot in RAW, using Av mode sad.gif
if 90% were under-exposed mean it's quite consistent la. tongue.gif if you have diffuser on then i'm not surprised you have to +FEC cos diffuser will reduce the intensity of output. the flash doesn't detect that, unless you're SB900 la.

sometimes if there are changes of light from ambient, the camera may have metered based on the brighter scene but when you shoot it happened on a darker scene, thus resulting in underexposed photos.

QUOTE(ianho @ Dec 4 2010, 02:47 AM)
It doesn't matter if a diffuser is used. The pre flash will let the camera determine accurate exposure n it will increase flash power accordingly. That's what E-TTL is all about no?
yes, it works like that.

it's supposed to cater even for the diffuser's reduction of intensity but it isn't perfect. IMO the diffuser does affect because the system doesn't know what material it shoots through.

*btw about the SB900 detecting diffuser, ignore it. i can't find details on it. donno what that SB900 user told me true or not. haha.
