Oooh..
So..I can practice anything with that?
ummm even The Major Scale too?
For this one > http://www.metronomeonline.com/index.php?style=fire
How do I know it's 4/4 ?
*
Yes...
Actually forget about the beat partlar... with a metronome it's all the same, tick-tick-tick-tick etc...
You can play one note per click, quavers (2 notes per click), semi-quavers (4 notes), triplets (3) or hell 16th notes etc...
Of course if you're lazy to write, you can always get some lessons from MySongBook.

z3r0l33t, join lar! But gotta wait for Pix's reply first, he might have recorded his already. thumbup.gif

No idea what tuning it is, but it's one step lower than DGCFAD =p

Yeah I bought the plug adaptor, used a mic.
EDIT:
I really have nothing to do,
So here's another metal track* with drums now*

yes, i finish my solo already:
http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=23LK9BM...UN2P6Y23YGDY6SE

so about the solo :
1/ sorry about the album name and the comments... just joking wink.gif
2/ At first I wanted to go with some freaky stuff, without bothering about a melody, but then suddenly i noticed that it was the summertime backtrack ! that "summertime" theme came up in my cloudy mind... just addictive.
3/ I may have put the solo track a bit too loud, let me know what you think about that especially. Is it "normal" level or not, for a solo track ?
4/ Some timing issues... as usual sad.gif

led zep, sorry, I actually took the space right after evo.com, i didn't read your post before ! Just after me, there's the keyboard solo (and I followed it with my guitar for a while)... I wouldn't recommend anyone to add too much guitar on top of it, keep it breathing...

HH7, i never practise with a metronome, really... some times, but not much. I prefer to practise with a backing track, it's funnier. Yet I think the very important thing is that you devellop your ear ! No, not the left ear. Not the right either... they're big enough as it is biggrin.gif i'm talking about the Musical one !!!
Not to say that I'm a pro in this area, but I know how to listen to myself over a song, to know whether I'm being musical, or in the rythm. As soon as you notice your flaws, you'll naturally find your way to correct most of them.

Playing "themes" from instrumental or vocal song will also help you to strength up your confidence. If you're a fan of Satch, try playing Always with me, Always with you / Surfing with the alien / Summer song / etc etc... All the themes are really easy to play (I mean, the first few bars with the melody, not the solo itself !), but they need to be right on spot. It's very instructive. Or you can try to play "TV" theme, or any kind of more jazzy theme. It's all slow and meaningful. That's what you need in your playing : slow and meaningful sentences...
Hope that helps...

no point to have the speed and not the accuracy... it'll just sound like someone with only one aim and thats to play as fast as possible...
juz chill and keep practicing with a metronome... im sure after 1-2 years of constant practice you'll be shredding like becker smile.gif

i gave up 6 months ago.... cuz im poo at shredding sad.gif

zeroleet> talk it over with led zep... dont start 1st

EDIT : wow pix.... the intro really gives a nice continue... i thought the best part was at the 1.19 mark with that bend....

i reckon the song could fit another 5 or so ppl in it....its 6 mins long
ps: next guy change the file name into LYN jam or something like that

z3r0l33t, I'm recording this weekend, so if you wanna record yours before Saturday, please hurry haha! Otherwise I'ill take over after Pix. (Darn Pix's gonna me mine sound like crap LOL!)

In college now, couldn't download the file yet. sad.gif

Oh yeah on the subject of metronome, I rarely uses it too and prefer to play over backing track. tongue.gif tongue.gif It does help a lot with a metronome, I'm just lazy and shred's not really my thing. tongue.gif

Hey could I take the space after Pix??? The keyboard solo part 'til the new progression at 2:41?? Thanks thumbup.gif tongue.gif

Pix, the guitar is loud enough imho, could use a little reverb to wet it up tho!

yep, keep it coming guys wink.gif and thanks for the ...

err...

1 and a half comments on my part. woow.
Thanks to you guys, I will improve a lot ! hehehe

Led Zep, oh yeah the reverb... totally forgot about that. Actually I was so tired, I was focusing too much on playing and overlooked the sound. I played with the JS, correct (bridge humbucker), through a Marshall Plexi Variac and a 4x12 Custom, recorded with a Shure 57 on axis, in a medium-sized hall.

Damn, all that in a red bean... biggrin.gif

The tapping part at the end is just a layer on top of the keyboard part, which is doing exactly the same tapping thing. So i was already there. i wonder what you're gonna do on the kboard solo...
