Actually your guitar sound's struggling to cut through the mixlar, a little more boost in the mid or volume would've been useful.

EDIT: I really have nothing to do, So here's another metal track* with drums now* http://uploadhut.com/view.php/372863.mp3 >_> This post has been edited by headhunter7: Oct 26 2005, 09:38 AM |

the fretboard ripped song... mmmm... did you listen to it yourself ? my ears are still bleeding... the second song, i like your rythm playing (i believe the main rythm is not from you, but you are the 2nd rythm guitar, right ? + solo one of course). But here again, the solo shows that you miss a bit of confidence on the fretboard. Weird thing : when you play fast alt. picking, it's OK... as soon as you slow things down, I can really hear that you have a lot of work in front of you, especially when it comes to FLUIDITY and "strength" (=what I call "confidence") B-trix > pretty cool, huh ! so your "Stuck Here" was done a long time ago ? Well, it sounds real good. I would say you could put some bends in there, though. But it's just because my name is Pix and I have to point out what could (IMO) be better. The Mama's solo is cool too, no bend problem, everything is smooth and powerful. You want one critic though ? Feels like some of your pull-offs are not really in tempo... like you're running in front or behind the beat. Yet, it's very very very tiny... I do have a problem when it comes to nail those little things down to the tempo too, so that's why I noticed it... I know one guy who's real good about this, and that's Jemi. |

Evo.com / very Santana_like !! the tempo, the licks, the spirit, it's all there ! Caramba, tequila y chiquitas !!! True about the scooped sound, you could have keep a soft and mellow sound, but with a bit more mids in it. Otherwise... what else... it's a cool and lay down solo, congrats
Regarding the track, there's some keyboard solo (1:40 ~ 2:10) and guitar solo (3:41 ~ 4:13) ... a bit disturbing... |

Just read the comments Pix..... yes, I do realize there are problems with the bends..... that's why I'm redoing the song again.
And for mama, I wasn't following a Metrenome or counter, so timing was DEFINATELY off....... just wanted to test out a solo... that's all. And for the Jam project. You know I'm just going in an ruining it with all the Pings, right?? Hahahahaha. |

ARRRRGGGHHH!!! Can't wait for my Computer to be back!!!
By the way, we should make a REAAALLLY long backing track so more instruments can be played.... maybe a little Violin (since there's so much activity about violins on the board) or some classical piano style..... I might even break out my turntables!!! |

QUOTE(headhunter7 @ Oct 26 2005, 10:46 AM) Fretboard Ripped.. Kinda...wanking lol ..nothing to do, just got the mic thingy =p The thing about your altenate picking is that you don't have enough fluidity, you have to take things slowly and practise those licks to a metronome. Starting from a tempo that you can handle and gradually build up your speed. It's boring stuff but it pays off. If shred's what you're going for, that is!Uhhhhh when I play slow..I kinda don't know where to go.. No idea why. So what do you think I should do to rectify my slowdown in the slow >_> ? As for slow playing, try mastering several vibratos, you would be surprised how useful they are. The riff's ace tho. Downloading your other track, hope it's better than your previous one. |

i think you should boost mids for the solo....easier to hear the sound.. also it seems like that your freting hand is trying quite hard to follow the picking... like everyone said.... a metronome would really help... try and get the speed kills instruct vid and chris impellideri(sp) instruc vid shredder vids... not my cup of tea... but im sure u'll love it |

Yup... just set the beat to 4/4 (Or whatever you like!) and write your own altenate picking exercise. Otherwise just lift it off any of your favourite solos and play it starting with a slow tempo. Remember, don't rush, increase the tempo gradually (by 5/10 bmp each time) only when you've mastered the one you're practising on.

and btw for the metronome thing, for alternate picking, like what led_zep said. slowly and gradually increase spped as you go on. Also, relax your fingers when playing a lick as stressing it will only cause you to slow down more. IF you want to practice with a metronome, try counting when picking. For instance, for every click(or chime or whatever the sound the metronome makes
