You need to alter the sound setting. I am not sure if it is the same as the older models but in case you see five bars when you open the audio setting, you need to set the second to fifth bars to the maximum.

hi sifus...

what's your opinion? which one is better? get the d 7 series 2011 model or go for es 6 series 2012 model?

UA46D7000LRXXM vs UA46ES6220RXXM vs UA46ES6600RXXM vs UA46ES6800RXXM

seems like 46D7000 has ultra clear panel, highest CMR and 3D sound...

also what's difference btwn Allshare (powered by DLNA) & Allshare play?

Last year's Series 6 has ultra clear panel too, as well as all the Series 6 models between from year 2008.

Anyway, why not consider this year's Series 7 ? I personally do not recommend this year's Series 6. The fact that it doesn't have an ultra clear panel is already a good enough reason not to buy it. Besides, it fares pretty badly in terms of the black level it can produce compared to all the previous Series 6 models. In short, if only is no object, go for this year's Series 7. Otherwise, last year's Series 7 is pretty good too. Even last year's Series 6 is a very good TV smile.gif

Main reason going for an older model is money of course sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

2012 Series 7 is over my budget. Thinking of getting 2011 Series 7 which maybe priced about the same as 2012 Series 6.
But yeah...upon further research looks like 2011 Series 6 is quite good as well...this way can save some more money thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Except afraid that I don't know what I'll be missing for not getting 2012 model...as why Samsung dropped Ultra Clear Panel from 2012 Series 6 is beyond my understanding

I was looking for 42" but there are not many models with such size in the market, maybe LG & Sony (Seng Heng model) or Plasma TV.

I am ended up with Samsung ua40es5600.

My comments on this model:
1. Can do without Smart TV - I get this due to the 100Mhz Motion Rate. I was conned by the Salesman on the motion rate doh.gif. Smart TV itself is not appealing to me.

2. Check what video formats Samsung is capable to play - Note: rmvb is not compatible for Samsung built-in player. I didn't notice this as I was offered this model last minute because my choice of brand/model was out of stock doh.gif

Philips 42PFL7406 Smart LED is quite a good TV too. It was launched in Nov 2011. It has a motion rate of 400Hz and Pixel Precise HD with Super Resolution 4 trillion colors. Comes with Ambilight Spectra 2 and powerful 24W speakers. I bought it in April this year for RM 2,600.

Well, this is Samsung LED TV Thread after all.

Having complained that the Smart TV is not really that appealing and the lack of built-in player support for rmvb video format, I have to say that the model (SLIM LED TV) is one beautiful TV! The image quality is decent. I couldn't comment further as I haven't spend long enough with it yet. smile.gif

hi i'm another newbie here

I'm using es7100 model and 1 thing that bothers me is that the brightness of the display is not consistent. This is noticable when u turn on subtitles. Most of the time the subtitle is bright white but sometimes it becomes dim.

Has anybody else experience this as well?
