According to Harvey Norman guy at IPC, Samsung technician will replace the LCD panel of the display units and they will then sell them off as display units with 5 year extended warranty. So essentially, you get a new panel on as display set. This was what was told to me last year when I was eyeing on the 65" JS9000 display units.

In any case, I ended up buying the 60" KS7000.
*
I actually wanted 60KS7000 but 60" is so rare now.

Maybe i'll need to settle with 55"..

I wonder Malaysia will bring in this model - MU8000 in US. Specs looks similar to KS7000 (or KS8000 in US)

I read somewhere actually samsung has oled technology too. Do you know on samsung mobile phone AMOLED is actually using OLED technology. No viewing angle issue, perfect black stunning pic.

Wondering why samsung still holding back only use oled on mobile phone.  unsure.gif

Save the best for last and cheat more money by asking buyer to get edge light lcd led. Then when everyone bought 1, later end of the game, he released AMOLED TV. GG guys.

Make 1 OLED TV - sell only RM10k-20k per unit. The same panel can be used to sell many units of Samsung and iPhone.

My point is - OLED capacity really not enough now. So for sure will use the capacity for the most profitable 1

Oh...now i know.haha...
Good info and education for me there.
Thanks a lot...

Yea, they typically follow some naming sequence by changing a digit or alphabet

For LG OLED, e.g. B7 is successor to B6
Sony changes letter at the back. for e.g. 800E (2017) vs. 800D

For Samsung - higher end use higher number. Curve version usually just +500. For example KS7000 vs. KS7500

One of the main TV seller in 11street actually has a shop in Ampang. They go for more volume by earning lesser margins

Which one? Any good recommendation for Samsung KU or KS series? At least 55" above?
*
depending on your budget? KS7000 is the best 4K HDR TV in 2016 (excluding OLED of course) and you can get 55'' for around RM5k

Has anyone managed to compare the UA55KU6000 with LG's 55UH615T?

Samsung con = motion blur, HDR only in slot one, slightly more exp (RM 27xx online, 2 years warranty; RM 30xx in store, 3 years warranty)

LG Con = RGBW panel, but true "4K"

Did I get this right?
*
Thsese cheaper model - their HDR is not 'truly HDR'. They can receive 10bit HDR signal but the panel only 8bit. Plus their brightness level is not enough.

I usually demo and then go home and buy online.

Just tell them go out withdraw money but never return.  laugh.gif

These chainstore won't bother to lower down prices to compete against mom-and-pop shops or online. Even their renovation or warehouse discount is totally crap

True.. Help contribute to sales quota if can.. For those who are not so comfortable ordering such big ticket items online.  smile.gif

It's more like how the sales distribution works in Malaysia where it's lacking serious competition from big retailers and online. In the US, price is so competitive with Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart etc.

Here, you have the manufacturer putting high RRP so that distributors looks good from offering perpetual discounts.

Homedec KLCC 28 Apr - 1 May,
U guys think can get better deal here...anyone experience buying from Homedec. How is the price or promo like ???
still looking for my 65" TV sad.gif
*
Won't be cheaper compare to online or some of the retail shop. Heck, even price discounts at those so call 'warehouse sales' is so-so only

Most of the time when it's super cheap, it's usually display set. Which I don't really recommend to get

I also did not believe the price and thought it is something wrong but took a gamble to buy and first time buying online..
It turns on well.

This TV really shines on 4K HDR movies...totally different level..

If it's MU8000, I might consider lol

MU6100 is just to replace KU6000, which 65" is selling for RM4.8-5k now on Lazada. Consider save a bit la if looking for budget 65" 4K TV

Is the uhd tv worth it? Its 4k good?
*
It's budget 4K. It will look nice but obviously not as good as high-end model with HDR and wide color gamut.

65" inch for RM4k really can't complain la

sad.gif samsung 4k high end seems expensive..
so lg b6 is the best 4k?? But rm8k ..maybe i wait few more years..was thinking to buy ps4 pro
*
any high-end 4K is expensive. Yes, LG B6 is the best in terms of picture quality and perfect contrast because of OLED panel.

I doubt 2-3 years down the road u can still find LG B6. Obviously it will be replaced by new models and LG will stop producing it. That said, buying PS4 Pro a few years later is also not recommended since PS5 should be out or announced by then.

Guys, which tv is recommended for 8k budget? Main purpose is to hook up to the PS4 Pro
Thanks
*
B6 if ur viewing distance is not too far and 55'' inch is perfect. Other best alternative is KS7000 at RM5K

Or u can get 65" KS7500 for about RM9.8K

Anyway, i want take this chance to ask. Given the choice, will u go for 55'' or 65''? Am thinking whether i should spent more to get the 65".... it's tempting

I'm now used to a 55" TV.. Next one has to be a 65".. If you have the wall and room space for it? Go for it. Bear in mind that, bigger is only better if its a better panel and FHD - 4K content are the major content being played on it.

I'm using a 5-year old 32'' Philip FHD LED TV. So any size will be an upgrade.

I'm just contemplating whether it's wise to spend almost double just for bigger screen

Coming from a 5 year ish old LED TV (Samsung 55 inch ES6220)

Have PS4 Pro.

Thinking of upgrading to 55 inch or 65 inch HDR capable TV.

So far saw Harvey Norman offering the KS7000 55 inch for around RM5.6k?

Not sure should I up the budget to go for like 65 inch LG UH770T or not. (I heard bad blacks and HDR capability on IPS panel?)

And where did you ppl find sub RM5k KS7000 man.

Lazada and 11 Street all like 5k plus.

LG LCD TV is not as good compare to other brands
