I also bought a KS7000 display set from Best 1 U for Rm 4k. Samsung technicians also came and changed a new panel at the shop itself (the display panel was slightly defective) before I inspected and paid for it when fully satisfied.

But no extended warranty though.

At home I checked the hidden service menu and estimate the unit was switched on about 8 months if I presume they work 10 hours a day. Before that the salesman said the set was on display for only 3 mths although I didn't really believe him. That's why he's a salesman  biggrin.gif
*
Yea, display unit for RM4K is about right. In my invoice from Harvey Norman, the TV was also around RM4K while the additional 3-year warranty is RM800-900.

Btw, how do you access the hidden service menu? I suppose you need to use the other type of Samsung remote? Cos the 1 given for KS7000 is a slick and minimal buttons 1.

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ May 31 2017, 08:37 AM)
wow...wonder how much profit they can earn by matching the price
*
I believe they still earn a few hundred at least.

Any IR Blaster equipped phone also can do it. Or find a old Samsung TV remote (or those BD remote with samsung TV switch on top)

I have a Samsung BD player so the remote can work with my KS7000
*
iPhone 6 or Mate 9 can? No old Samsung remote

iPhone 100% no IR blaster hahaha.

Mate 9 iinm got, you can try load an app to emulate your samsung TV remote, then blast the combination LOL.
*
I tried this SURE Universal Smart TV remote app. Can control the TV

But when i key in the sequence, the TV just turn on without entering the service menu. From power off, it's INFO, MENU, MUTE, then POWER right?

anyone knows about the new model ua55mu6300? is this model worth as i got quoted at rm4799.
told was new model 2017 but doesn't got much info from internet
*
It's just 2017 replacement model for 2016 KU6300 with similar picture quality. So, bad value for money as new model won't get discounted so much for now.

If u willing to fork out up RM5K, get the 2016 KS7000 instead if u still can find stocks. Its PQ is on par with 2017 QLED series, if not better.

Ya, i found both is curved. Is that worth to buy KU6500 over KU6300?
*
Slightly better specs only, so might not be very noticeable.

Go showroom to evaluate yourself whether the difference inPQ it's worth the extra few hundreds ringgit

Found 55KS7000 at 5.1K ... worth it ? But there is no extended warranty offered ... only the standard 2 years manufacturer warranty.
*
If new set, 2 years is standard. If display set, at least get +3 years warranty at that price

Hi, can advise me to choose Samsung 4k led tv, ks7500 and MU8000, any different?
*
KS7500 wins hands down and should be cheaper as well. Top 2016 TV model with True 4K HDR

MU8000 is like a downgrade version from last year model with lower peak brightness and without Quantum Dot Technology (now in the QLED series). The only thing better than last year model is perhaps the exterior build quality.

Actually, even this year Samsung QLED series can't beat last year KS series

Ic. But the price for KS is RM6XXX same with MU8000 at Lxzada.
I no check at shop yet.
*
Your RM6k probably refers to the curve version - KS7500? Cheapest i saw b4 in Lazada are RM5.8k

Picture quality wise, it's actually the same as KS7000. KS7000 usually goes from RM5.4-5.6k

Curve or no-curve, it's a matter of your preference la. At 55", I think you might hardly feel any noticeable difference between curve and non-curve.

I suggest you only buy a HDR TV only when necessary. Better wait until your old TV needs to be replaced then buy. If you are buying because of the hype, then you might be disappointed.

Even the current 8 bit colour TVs contents today are still not fully utilising the available colour range. Currently due to the push by manufacturers, we are seeing more contents in 10bits HDR (Real of Fake).

But in time , I suspect the hype will die down, and slowly the contents will remain mostly 8 bit color.

Here's a sample from youtube 4K HDR demo. Even your old 8 bit non-HDR TV will be able see how colourful the images are, even though you won't be getting true HDR or 4K (depending on your line speed).

Sample Video -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TehmBX0V7hU

My point is even with 8 bit TV, the images look fantastic so is HDR really that big a step forward as we are led to believe? I know HDR is more than just colour range, it's about Brightness too, but such scenes only happens sparingly.
*
Maybe not for TV viewing, but 4K HDR gaming with PS4 Pro really makes the image 'pop' with the lighting and rich color. this is also the primarily reason why I buy a KS7000

I'm also very surprised its out of stock. If they told me earlier, limited or gonna discontinue, I could have place deposit and secure an unit first.
Anyway, now talk also being late edy.

Gotta hunt down the unit edy. or else have to find someone to sponsor me a Q7F edy.
Is Q7F same with Q7FAM? Same model? Coz yesterday I drop by TBM, quite a weird feeling they display. Aint good.
Their demo sucks! Picture ain't sharp, color not smooth... After discount Price is RM8999 from RM9999 (more pricy than the rest).
Yeah... either one is good for me.
Just need something tat is OK and not so bad for me at the moment.
Its like getting the best out from the big bucks! TQ.
Let us know if there's any availability. Thanks!

Desa Home is having Aug promo. There's LG 55" B6 for RM7899 + RM750 voucher.

For KS7000, I guess you need to hunt at lesser known shops to try your luck if there's any leftover units. Example - Best Denki

EDIT
Just browsing through Lazada and there's still a lot of shops selling 55" KS7000 at Rm5399. Maybe can try to contact them directly and nego for RM5k price? XD

You still have 5 years warranty to cover you. Even you can get 1-1 replacement if they cant repair it.
*
QUOTE(greyshadow @ Aug 7 2017, 04:48 PM)
don't forget the time you'll have to wait for the warranty claim/repair/replacement wink.gif
*
The way I see it - it's really depends on your luck. Brand new or display, both equally have chance to break down some time in the future haha

Having additional warranty when purchasing display unit is a must. Even if the TV breakdown outside warranty 5 years later, you won't feel bad because you already use it for 5 years.

I got offered from someone selling Q7F 55' for RM7,500 new unit. With that kind amount of money, should I go for Q7F or LG OLED instead? Both display looks extremely charming though.
*
I think you can get LG B6 at around RM7.2-7.5K now.

Picture quality wise, B6 OLED is better than Q7

Hi guys...

Wanted to ask. I was about to receive my KS7000 TV and 65" MU7000.

1. What movie or graphic or setting should I use it to test?
2. If my player is 3D-enabled and playable, but my TV is not. Can I still watch 3D movies?

Please advise.
*
Connect your TV to Internet (hopefully with >25mbps speed). Open the Youtube app and load 4K HDR video. I personally prefer LG demo video

Gonna try n enjoy Star Wars: Rogue One. 4K with 5.1
wonder can the player render the file or not?!

I really amazed with KS7000 the sharpness n the smoothness of the TV really wow!
Played Hobbit recently, the sharpness and the pores of Gandalf so sharp and crisp.

Gonna try Rogue one tomorrow. 44GB file.

I'm trying with Kimi No Na Wa in 4K resolution this coming weekend...

Should be glorious
