Hi,

Im considering a new TV either Samsung (UA46ES6220R) or LG (LM6700). Kind of leaning towards Samsung because it seems more popular. I'm more interested in Smart TV, Apps, and web browser functions.

I'm hoping to use it to watch videos online streaming like TED.com, 1channel.ch, youtube etc.
But i read some people saying that the web browser is not user-friendly, very slow connection, and alot of videos does not work due to flash. Is this true?
From reading the Samsung website, it states it supports flash and html5.
Can you guys give me your thoughts on using the web browsing on your tv so far?

im using 6220R currently. i duno LG so i cant give u answer and its better u compare it with ur own eyes.go few more shops to compare.

as for the browsing,i used once n i m lazy. abit lag, and of coz slow.

Your mounting too tight, the panel will expand when it gets hot, this will twist the panel which resulted the defect, vertical stripe top to bottom green/black dead pixels.

The bigger the panel, or the slimmer the panel, the greater the risk. There are cases that panels lasted less than a week, due to bad mounting. be sure to use recommended and GOOD QUALITY mounts.

If the screws positions does NOT fit in its place, DONT force it in.

Get the IPS panel for greater durability.

Possible solutions.

Improper mounting or handling of the TV may lead to TAB failure. Eg. screen being flexed, physical shock/pressure near to the TAB / screen edges.

Just got my new Samsung ES6220. so far, not too impressed with the 'smart tv' capabilities, (except Plex, which is great). Anyone know how to get other apps apart from the ones in the Samsung App store? i notice some apps may only be for certain countries, is there a way to get other country apps on it?

edit: just found some website about 'SammyGo'; able to hack the tv and have more functionality. anyone has played around with this?

http://plexapp.com/
App that can support Samung TV (can find it in their app store). Basically, all your movies, tv shows you download on your computer can easily stream to your samsung tv instead of hassle to always copy to USB back and forth.
Just tried out yesterday and find it so useful, especially if you have multiple devices like other laptops or Ipads, you can just stream all your media files from your main computer to any of these.
They also have streaming channels in their app you can watch, but sadly is not supported on Samsung tv app.
Samsung Smart TV should just ask Plex to do their smart tv UI; its so much more fluid and easy to use compared to their slow glitchy smarthub.
