I'm eyeing an UA65KU6000 currently. Went to S...Q and saw it was selling at 5699. Check at Lazada, there're selling at RM 4599 ( as below link )
http://www.lazada.com.my/samsung-65-uhd-4k...ml?ff=1&rb=1356 How could it be so much difference. |

QUOTE(sigheart @ Apr 10 2017, 10:45 AM) Not really. Online is cheaper due to sometimes online selling platforms like Lazada or 11street subsidize a certain amount to drive sales and entice people to purchase using their platform. Hmmm...good explanation there. Thanks a lot. Well this make me really consider getting mine thru online since i'm also not willing to pay the extra. It's not just 1 or 2 hundred..it's thousands. Example Senheng on Lazada is selling a TV for RM5000 but in their shop its RM6000. If you go in to their shop and ask for RM5000 even if its sold by them as well they won't sell to you. They will just tell you if you want that price then buy through Lazada. Anyway I have bought 80% of my home theatre setup amounting close to RM30k from Lazada and 11Street. No problems at all. The items listed on Lazada and 11street are all listed and fulfilled by electrical shops as well. The official receipt and the sales order will have the electrical shop's name and address. You are still literally buying from electrical shops just that you are doing it offsite. Nowadays all I do in electrical shops is to demo the items I am interested in then I will buy online. No point paying extra for the same item. Warranty is the same anyway and are fulfilled by the respective manufacturers, not the shops. BTW, i saw some online seller did mentioned that their unit is 2017 but some didn't mentioned about the product year. So could it be a 2016 unit ?? And same goes with some give 1 year and some 2 year warranty for the same unit. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Apr 10 2017, 11:46 AM) TVs aren't bought or sold like cars.. For TVs, each "gen" year is marked by a "series" letter (See below).. Sure you can find out the installed panel's date of manufacture and how long it has been powered on. Not the easiest way. The 2017 models were just recently released.. Unsure if in the Malaysian market yet. Oh...now i know.haha...Model year QE (Q7, Q8 & Q9) = 2017 QLED MU = 2017 UHD KS = 2016 SUHD KU =2016 UHD L = 2015 JS = 2015 SUHD JU = 2015 UHD H = 2014 HU = 2014 UHD F = 2013 E = 2012 D = 2011 C = 2010 B = 2009 A = 2008 Good info and education for me there. Thanks a lot... |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Apr 10 2017, 12:47 PM) Yea, they typically follow some naming sequence by changing a digit or alphabet Thanks for the info....For LG OLED, e.g. B7 is successor to B6 Sony changes letter at the back. for e.g. 800E (2017) vs. 800D For Samsung - higher end use higher number. Curve version usually just +500. For example KS7000 vs. KS7500 |

QUOTE(Vannus @ Apr 10 2017, 04:45 PM) Bro, the lowest price shop is desa home at kepong or at lowyat plaza level 2. OK..will drop by one of those shop u mentioned and checked the price. I'm not in hurry anyway as my 40" samsung still serve me well. Only itchy butt want to upgrade it. Ask for best price they will give you the best price. Other shop that i found cheap is the normal kedai 2 tingkat electric shop at puchong. One Living something. Cheers Thanks... |

QUOTE(sigheart @ Apr 18 2017, 01:27 PM) Well home fairs will definitely be cheaper than what the stores are selling but still can't beat online prices IMO. Wow..yakah...then no need to go to the fair. Plus travelling, parking, eating and drinking...the cost will become higher compare to online..Just make sure you do your own research on the pricing of the TV you want to buy because I have seen sellers in home fairs selling more expensive or no difference at all to normal store pricings before. |

QUOTE(Vannus @ Apr 16 2017, 06:09 PM) Agreed. Well everyone has different taste and the thing they like. Sorry for being a little over earlier. Yes..yesterday o went to a shop selling only Samsung product ( well almost non other brand ), and they quoted me RM 6,099.00 for 65KU6000....But seriously i wish samsung malaysia could allign thier price more rapidly and closely according to the price where US is offering from time to time. Our currency is already weak and yet samsung never take initiative to make those good model mid high end affortable to our people. Then i ask why so high compare to others, and what the boss ( sitting and not bother to stand up ) said maybe they have promotion ....so i just left after saying " thank you ".... |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Apr 18 2017, 04:29 PM) Won't be cheaper compare to online or some of the retail shop. Heck, even price discounts at those so call 'warehouse sales' is so-so only OK..get your message...Most of the time when it's super cheap, it's usually display set. Which I don't really recommend to get |
