Doraemon, maybe she's going thru a growth spurts. Whenever my son goes thru that..i can't keep up with him. eventually it'll be ok.

another thing is..you must drink lots and lots of water. it's very important when breastfeeding.

sunflower808, I've been breastfeeding for 1 year 8 months liao.  My target is 2 years...and now..i'm slowly starting to wean my son.

Update on my weaning: my son drinks the milk (dutch Lady 123) if my mom hands him the bottle but not from me.  so..which means..i'm the problem as i'm the walking milk machine LOL

Added on April 6, 2011, 2:52 pmoh..sunflower...i am a full time working mom.  I used to pump at work 3x and transport it home.

hmmm..ok.. you do pump at work right? How many letdowns do you have? I never knew about multiple letdowns till later (about 8 months into breastfeeding when i accidentally had 2nd and 3rd letdown for pumping longer).

Try to get multiple letdowns and if you pump longer..it may signal your body to produce more. Sometimes when you are stressed during pumping (like rushing for time)..it doesn't really help.

qarezma: letdown is when your milk comes out the most..it spurts out a lot.

Added on April 6, 2011, 4:56 pmsunflower: My pumping/bf schedule at home and work (during the 1st 6 months that i can remember)

7:30am - pump or direct bf before going to work
about 10am - 1st pump session
after lunch (about 2pm) - 2nd pump session
about 4:30pm - 3rd pump session
6pm - bf on demand at home

My pumping session ranges from 20 mins to 30 mins..once a blue moon..about 40 mins..that's when i'm stressed or not relax during pumping session

I stored my ebm in the freezer and transport it home in an insulated bag. I bought my pump from Avent..and the bag came with it.

DO i need to get the breastpump for the initial 2 months, the time that i am staying home? or latching direct would be better?

my advice, the first month direct is best to establish your milk. the 2nd month..before you start work..try to pump as to get yourself comfortable with pumping as some women may find it awkward. Also, during the 2nd month before you start work, try to teach your baby to either drink the ebm from bottle or spoon (in case there's the case of nipple confusion) as some babies may reject as it's not the direct source.

My cousin had this problem where her daughter just wanted to only drink milk from her breast. She had to opt feeding via spoon. Later on her daughter did drink from the bottle but only when someone else gives her the milk and she's not at home.

i get my pump few day later during my confinement which my girl doesn't work on latch on. Was so stress and keep calling the courier company to arrange soonest deliver to me tongue.gif

Lucky i get my pump on time.. else my BM might just dry up during that time.

I started my work now.. initially was asking my hubby get me a small refrigerator which he's my boss laugh.gif

But now i think dont ned it anymore.. coz the cooler bag and the 3 ice pack come with my pump do the job as a refrigerator very well.

Hehehe ...yes it's tiring. If I can turn back time...I'll invest in an electric pump.

There's this mum who contacted me last week re my ebm. She wanted them to feed to her baby. So I quickly said yes and ask her to arrange. Then she told me in the one n only phone call we have, that she manage to breast feed her baby already and she will let me know later at night whether she wants my ebm or not. So I told her that if she doesn't want it, she have to let me know as well.

She did not call me that night. So the next day, I saw in one of the BF mum's blog that the mum has already taken some ebm from her. So I patiently waited for her to call me back and tell me she doesn't want my ebm anymore.

But till today, there is still no phone call from her and I gather that she asked quite a lot of mummies for their ebm.

So should I wait for her or not?

Maybe you can SMS her for the last time..and if she doesn't reply...just forget about it.

You have other mommies wanting your EBM?

How long can the ebm be kept in the freezer? It's our regular freezer. Always open to take ice, ice cream etc...

even tho u are SAHM, making baby food in small quantities would be tiresome and ridiculous considering the little amount... making batch and freezing them will be more economical
