Steam suddenly disconnect while downloading a game, why ar?

Ah thought i was alone in this, I almost ready to sue the new AVG 2011 free edition after i updated my anti virus program, and whole steam took longer than expected to connect.

xmas sales, first day big pack out, it down, then it take 2 week to fix and restore back, that time sales end.
