As for what i'm being told by them, this is their retail price, so from what i view at, if Leopold did set a retail system at malaysia, we should be purchasing the keyboard straight without any shipping cost.(just my own thinking and conclusion)

Btw, i just received the keyboard and currently using it, will post picture soon.

I do have to agree with clickclack and sixty, the key is indeed thicker. i was quite surprised with the thickness. Because i didn't realize the difference in thickness is so easily noticeable when put side by side comparison, i'll picture them soon with a ruler beside.
*
Ya agree, if say they stated it as Malaysia retail price means that is the final price after reach into Malaysia.

I am not sure what you means by the thickness. Do you talk about the key caps profile? You can measure the thickness of key caps by using ruler? it cant be right.

cant really give you the answer for that.
but the different tone. different pitch.
that's all.
*
So usually thinner key caps hit the keyboard base will created higher pitch sound.
Whereas the thicker key caps will create lower pitch sound which is not that noisy and annoying. (that why the thicker key caps have more advantages)

The loudness is not really depends on the thickness but the force you apply to hit the key caps. Just my 2 cent.

eh i can use cyber clean to clean my BW Ult right?
*
Cyberclean is more to clean dust.
I believe you usually clean your BW is because the glossy end key caps.
To clean those fingerprint, i think micro fiber cloth will better.

Maybe just use cyber clean to clean the dust first the use the cloth to clean the fingerprint.
Actually every time after use the cyber clean, all the key caps will become abit sticky, so wipe them properly is impertant, before some printing fade off.

For dust of cause cyberclean is the best option.
The cloth is to the fingerprint.

Hello, Guys. Here are some of the preview Picture of the Actual Product Leopold  FC200R Tenkeyless Version. I apologize for my lacking skill on photography, i think some of my photos are bad. =/  rclxub.gif
I will post more pictures soon for comparison between Steelseries 7G and Ducky DK9008 Black On Black Keycaps.
*
lol, your flash effect is too obvious, should off the flash for some of it, blurred the picture.

Anyway, cant see the side. Cant see the thickness of the both the keyboard and the key caps profile.
But the extra key caps are nice. You extra order it or it was bundled with the keyboard itself?? (foc?)

I believe Leopold will only included one Orange Leopold Keycap Doubleshot where the other 4 doubleshot keycaps are not included.

But i will be meeting a Leopold Employee Tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur to have further discussion. If it's possible, i`ll try to bring in Leopold Leopold Keyboard to Malaysia. So you guys can get for a cheap price  brows.gif

There's still alot need to be discuss with them. i'll try to post more information once after i have a discussion with Leopold.
Actually, This keyboard was a sample sent by Leopold from DHL, There's no way to purchase the keyboard for now because Leopold doesn't accept Paypal or Credit Card.

But i may try to bring this keyboard to Malaysia.
Yeah, sorry about the flash effect, The room that i taken picture is kinda dark, so it is required to have flash. And also because of my Crappy Photographing skill  tongue.gif

I'll post a side by side comparison picture once i get back to home(Taiping) where my Steelseries 7G and Ducky DK9008 is.

Seems like lot mechanical keyboard are on the way coming into Malaysia.

For a target price between 3xx-4xx i think that would be perfect.

Thats the pricing slightly the same as a Razer Black Widow; and cheaper than a Steel Series 7G.
The thing is Chuah; how many Malaysians are willing to fork out that much for a keyboard ? They might not know the difference between a mechanical and rubberdome.
I think sp made those key caps. I got some sp doubleshots with me; they look exactly like those Leopolds.
*
Thats why we should advertise it and flood mech keyboard among Malaysian. ^^

Ya after watch the video we know it is very hard ^^, most of here cant afford or won't willing to buy keyboard at that price.

@Boomerangkid

I thought answer your question in Razer thread, those keys will only work for Window Media Player.
It should work even without any driver installation. Check out with the reseller.

Hey guys, just for some minor update.

Leopold is preparing to releasing another version of Full size Keyboard which will Features Cherry MX Red Switches.

I saw the sample this morning in meeting with one of the Leopold Employer. He showed me the sample as well as explaining a lot of things.

As for the Price tag of new Leopold Full size Keyboard that features Cherry MX Red Switch, i can't confirm the price tag, but it will be slightly expensive than the Tenkeyless version. but it's still around RM300~400 in between.

The product currently now is still a sample and being consider to release in 2011.

For news that Leopold that will comes to Malaysia, You guys might still have to wait.

Added : sorry, wrong id, was my friends Account, he didn't informed me that he change account.
*

i heard a friend of mine said that you can actually turn a black switch & blue switch into a red switch by switching the blue switch spring with the black switch spring.
*
You change the switch will be easier than you change the spring.
I think blue 1 is bit different you cant directly change it, but black to red i think possible.

Mechanical keyboard looks stupid, plain and feature less.
But once you lay your finger on it, it's guaranteed a one way ticket into the bottomless world of mechanical keyboard.

Typing from laptop now, missing my keyboard ><
I think brown is already a bit too soft to me, red would be out of the question I guess..

Played too much FORTE piece on piano? instead of PIANO xD
*
The softer it is the less force you need. Means for long period typing, MX red is really superb.
Imagine you doing research and preparing your final year project report. 150 pages. Show time for MX red.

Hmm.. i think you're taking it the wrong way.

since what you says "wouldn't blue be more 'fun' to type in with the acknowledging takatakatakatakataka and the tactile snap."

Not everyone would prefer clicky sound and tactile bump feeling. you should have some try on some demo unit. since they do not sound like takatakatakataka tongue.gif
There's also people prefer to have a quieter keyboard, black, brown, red would be a alternative choices, because sometimes, we do might use the keyboard at midnight or next to a person, and Blue switch clicky sound might be sound pleasant towards the keyboard user, but not the person around the keyboard user.
As for tactile bump, it is something like a helpful feature for those that prefer to touch typing a keyboard, because they don't always bottoming out the key, and wanted to improve on touch typing.

I think Blue is more of a typist keyboard, since the switch require less force to press on, and has a tactile bump(to let you feel when the key is being pressed),  it's a perfect keyboard for touch typing, especially for those typist that do type really fast with touch typing.

As for my, i use mechanical keyboard frequently, and types about 100wpm(words per minute), and myself doesn't like tactile bump thou. i frequently use Black, if Red is available,  i`ll happy to switch to Red switch.

Btw, here's a Mechanical Keyboard Guide.
http://www.overclock.net/keyboards/491752-...oard-guide.html
*
LOL feel like you shot him for me.

Anyway, that is what i means.
What I mentioned is just I will going get Leopold MX red and not means other people will do so as well.
I like linear non-clicky like MX black and Red and is my own preference and can do faster tap with this.

The MX blue is 'his' choice then just go ahead. No switch is best, just best for someone.

Hi, I'm trying to buy a Cherry Brown keyboard in KL. I've been looking through this thread and was wondering if this is available yet and where I might find it.
If you're not the seller who should I contact?

I was in Lowyat and Digital Mall and didn't see anybody selling any mechanicals other than Razer/Steelseries.
*
Now the only choices are BW and SS 6Gv2 and 7G.

Just wait until 2011 (few hour later), Filco probably coming in during mid of Jan (as storm said).
Hopefully, Leopold will come in also. Competition between Filco and Leopold just bring the price down ^^ rclxm9.gif

hey moggle, just for updating, the fullsize keyboard might develope in futher to have media key as well as windows lock key, but it's not confirm yet because they currently are in discussion.

To much of my surprise, for Leopold Keycap quality, it is very very siiliar to Steelseries 7G, as it's from the same manufacturer.

i had try my friends 6Gv2, the keycaps are indeed thinner than 7G.

Both 7G and Leopold FC200R keycaps has the same thickness. Leopold seems to be using a new laser imprinting mephod. And one important thing would be lettering does not become yellow like my 7G.

As for ducky, I've tried multiple keys comparison and found out that Ducky Keycaps certain keys does not have the same thickness as other keycaps.

For comparison on Ducky Keycaps, pull out your ESC and your ASDW Keycaps and compare, ESC are somewhat more thin.
*
hmm seems like found some advance thing from 7G compare to 6Gv2, anyway, then only the it deserve the price different.
But another thing is you make me hate 7G key caps, the stupid printing method. Waiting for 7Gv2 with laser etched key caps ^^

Your ducky keyboard means which model? You do the studies by using which keyboard.

oops sorry let me clarify for you.

What I trying to say is, as you mention it was 9KRO, you test it with "asdf spacebar jkl;" these 9 keys, then did you try any other 9 keys combination, wondering is there any other 9 keys combination failure, may it be less than 9KRO?

All this will be solved if you use blank letter keycaps lol!

The only thing that I can't get used to using blank keycaps in the top 1-9/0 row. Somehow never managed to memorize their locations.
*
I willl only use blank for alphabet if can.
But if buying the original keyboard with blank key caps then no choice. Must try to do touch typing all the way.

Not sure why it's not a hit on Amazon.

Cyberclean can clean the dust very well but not prevent it stick to it. Instead, after use cyberclean, there is some moisture on the key caps which made it collect dust even faster.

After use cyber clean must wipe with micro fiber cloth also.

Most keyboards are 2KRO. Meaning only 2 keys can press same time. If you try to press a 3rd or more, it won't register.

6KRO also isn't sufficient because O2jam uses 7 keys, sdfghj.
NKRO means there is no key roll over. Meaning you can press as many as you want and it will register.

NKRO isn't necessary a mechanical keyboard feature. As i understand it, Microsoft's sidewinder keyboard may be NKRO i think although it's a rubber dome.
Anyway  6KRO should be sufficient for 99% of games out there, except o2jam and games like it that require 7 or more simultaneous key presses.
*
because of ghosting effect existing so most of the keyboard should register most of the combination up to 6 keys even though it is maybe 2KRO keyboard.

Well not necessarily.

Example the Topre is NKRO but it doesn't support USB to PS2 adapter.

So only their PS2 models NKRO actually work.
Same for Deck legend, they cannot use USB to PS2 adapter for NKRO. If you want NKRO for their keyboard, you have to get the PS2 version.
Ducky/Filco/Leopold support usb to PS2 adapter NKRO doh.gif

Ya I means it may work, since lot keyboard work this way, but it is unnecessary.

so make it so troublesome??

Just make it PS2 or just make the connected to 2 usb port, the each port got its own polling part, so should work for 12 keys.

Noppoo are not really very expensive compared to other mechanical keyboard.

But for myself whether it achieve NKRO with USB or PS2 not really affected me. Furthermore, using PS2 can save 1 more USB port for other devices.
